Hello, I know it has been done so many times before but when I get to cd1 (yet again) I find it helps to think about what I've tried before that didn't work, what helped me cope and what I have yet to try so here's my list:

STOP
-OPKs (they just stress me out)
-Checking CP (don't think it's worth it)
-Focusing on fertile week only (OV happened early this cycle and caught me off guard)
-Putting too much pressure on both DH and I (we always have huge rows just before OV because I don't think we are BDing enough!)

KEEP
-Charting temps & CM
-Taking B6 (helped with PMS & maybe LP as it's been extended by 1 or 2 days last 2 cycles)
-Taking pre-natal vits
-Taking Royal Jelly (overall well being)
-Drinking grapefruit juice
-Using saliva scope (didn't work last cycle but that was the first one of using it)
-Trying to stay calm and relax

START
-watching diet and drinking less
-consider acupuncture/reflexology
-re-read books

How about the rest of you?

Oh and tying MincePieGreedy and MrsMcClaus to their computer desks with bells on

RudolphsREADY · 04/12/2006 19:29

I need that on my computer... so it beeps when a new post is on here... I think I would waste less time (strange as it sounds)... I wouldn't keep checking just in case

sideways · 04/12/2006 19:35

Ooh yes, sparkly, we have to organise our NY trip to Blackpool

RudolphsREADY · 04/12/2006 19:36

how about FIREsideways??? Fires are Festive aren't they??

RudolphsREADY · 04/12/2006 19:37

YuleTideways???

greedyformincepies · 04/12/2006 19:44

i think you are good at this ready! you make up t shirt slogans for a living! (you are better than old Mrs anyhow! she is hopeless!(no offence, but has anyone used any of your ideas!!!!!??????? ) im not feeling at all creative this evening, just glum!

by the way......the 'e' key on my keyboard stopped working properly before, so i have just pulled it off and i found a bit of pistachio shell stuck under it! should work better now! (shame it was only the shell hey! i could have had a pre dinner snack!)

MrsHolly · 04/12/2006 19:46

Ok, primarily I will be try to get away from my desk before midnight [she types whilst still sitting at said desk and settling in for a long night ] in order to re-introduce myself to my DH, which would be a start I suppose....

Ho hum, jingle bells anyone?

ps: thank you MrsMc re your message, I can't access personal email from the office so will have to wait to collect this later tonight i hope.
x

MrsHolly · 04/12/2006 19:47

Er - sorry that was in response to the original thread message!

RudolphsREADY · 04/12/2006 19:50

(hug) MrsHolly... thinking of you!!

Just a thought, can't you sneak DH into your office????

RudolphsREADY · 04/12/2006 19:55

LOL at the pistachio shell!! Don't feel glum Greedy!! I am all chipper and festive and practically high as a kite at the minute... I'm going to need people to pick me up on Saturday when AF arrives and I come crashing down to earth with a bang!! You'd better be there

I am quite enjoying making up festive names for people (I had already thought of yours, but then you thought of your own!)... and Kittiwake chose MrsMcs suggestion over mine so I have to defend her there !

greedyformincepies · 04/12/2006 20:14

yeah....what does kittiwake know hey!
what was your name for me?

sideways · 04/12/2006 20:15

Ready - I think you have it there. YuleTideways it is.

Huge amounts of babydust to you

thanks for all your suggestions.

greedyformincepies · 04/12/2006 20:16

ANYWAY.....i was only being mean to Mrs to to bring her back down to earth after reading her 'adoration thread!' can't have her getting a big head!

MrsMcClaus · 05/12/2006 14:03

Ah ha, so this is where you are being mean to me Greedy!? how cheeky are you? but you are right, my names are rubiish Thanks for sticking up for me Ready, your names are all fab, some of them have had me in stitches!

Sparklytreeangel - tell me about PABA & Propolis! (or did you make them up? )

MrsHolly must re-send that email to you, forgot yesterday. Next week, I start my new job and won't be able to come on here at work either.

RudolphsREADY · 05/12/2006 17:51

Greedy - it was a bit poo actually... "TheGrinchThatTriedToStealGREEDY" cos you said you were going to have a break from MN, I thought it was appropriate... but actually, it's naff.

Ooh yay, I win the prize, Thank you YuleTideways.. here's hoping that baby dust works this month (just 3 days til AF due!)

LOL at Greedy trying to stop MrsMc's head from swelling... but of course MrsMc, you know she doesn't mean any of it. She loves you as much as the rest of us do!!!! She was just jealous, and wanted a thread of her own

MrsMcClaus · 06/12/2006 12:42

Ready - remember we were talking about the BIG cracker full of chocolate?! It's arrived and smells divine, it could almost be used as a airfreshner!

Did I tell you all that I gave up tampax this AF? ok, feels a bit odd after so long if you know what I mean but I do feel better inside. Forgot just how much blood there is though . Sorry if TMI!

XmassyCharlotte · 06/12/2006 14:13

What's the reasoning behind giving up tampax, MrsMc?

nannynickers · 06/12/2006 17:09

Found this, thought she would have wanted you to have it! for you from Tink, babydust!

greedyformincepies · 06/12/2006 17:26

i love the babydust! that was great! some of you people are so clever!

ImpatientElf · 06/12/2006 17:34

Hello all. Feel a bit more like talking now, even got myself a (slightly) festive name.

Was really down about getting af, and still feel pretty miserable, but have trips up the motorway booked for next week, so hoping to fit some inseminations in before going away for various christmas jaunts. Already having a bit of ewcm today on CD5, what's going on?!

I've started having grapefruit juice this month, which I love so that's really not a hardship! Otherwise I don't know what I'll do differently. Thinking of getting a longer syringe (have a 10ml) or some extension so I can get closer to cervix. Don't always have a very big sample (sometimes just 1ml), so am worried that it's all just pooling not in contact with cervix or cm. Any doctors, nurses, pharmacists, biology teachers etc got any suggestions?

Thanks for the nice words sent my way while I was sulking in the corner x Good luck to you all this month x

ImpatientElf · 06/12/2006 17:41

Hey Greedy, here I am. Have you left any mince pies for me? Shall I get you a pint?

Just saw your message on the other thread. I wasn't fibbing, or attention-seeking: just typing really slowly But thanks for looking for me. It was nice to be missed

Sorry to hear you feel af is on her evil soul-destroying way. Poor you.

greedyformincepies · 06/12/2006 18:12

ok perve.....i forgive you....i thought you were teasing me! i should have known you would never do that!

i did physiology and anatomy at uni,so know a bit, but didnt do too much reproductive stuff and certainly nothing about squirting it yourself!

i reckon as long as you have a pillow under your bum so that your pelvis is raised and your cervix is in the right position you should be ok. the action of ejaculation is quite forceful though ( esp. with my dh when we haven't BD'd for a while!) so i would say dont squirt it too slowly, try and do a short sharp squirt!!!!! LOVELY!!!!

ImpatientElf · 06/12/2006 19:27

Hello my greedy friend! Thanks for the advice. (Anatomy and Physiology sounds interesting.) I do try to squirt rather than ooze (er, yuck...). What is the RIGHT position for the cervix, or is it just about tipping yourself so it doesn't all run out?

greedyformincepies · 06/12/2006 19:32

remember the pictures on the leaflets you get in tampax boxes? that is what i visualize cos that shows the angles of everything. i am never convinced that just putting your legs in the air is enough! i think for gravity to be allowed to work best a pillow under your bum to tilt the pelvis is ideal!

also, erm.......you do know the benefits of orgasm to suck it all up don't you? ideal time would be just after squirting i suppose!

ImpatientElf · 06/12/2006 19:38

Ah, but do you never worry about tipping yourself up too far and it all pooling behind the cervix, because the cervix sticks out a bit? Don't want it like an island in a pool of sperm, going 'where are you all then?!'

Yes, have heard of the orgasm assistance, but it's all so unromantic for me, and in the back seat of a car usually parked somewhere dodgy and I'm usually on my own. Not that being on my own gets in the way of an orgasm ( tee hee) but doing it in the back seat down a dodgy backstreet makes it all really seedy

Xmas Sad - although I see they don't have a miserable santa. What about a miserable santa's elf? Hmph.
