Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory, who wouldn't?)

ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like Something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

Flowers kez
how long have you been ttc, if you dont mind me asking? (cant find you on the stalkersheet spreadsheet). i guess how we each react depend on our personalities, so there's no changing that unfortunately (much). i think late AF/unpredicatble AF but bfns is probably one of the worst scenarios as it gives us so much hope, but leaves us wondering, uncertain and sad.

I know you're normally a good JSer and dont temp/opk etc, but do you think some activity like that could help you? or at least give you something slightly different to focus on, other than the bfp itself?

i love it when lil pops in with her wisdom...what would we do without you lil!?!

kezaroo · 15/07/2015 11:38

5 been ttc a year in August.

Temping is out of the question for me as I don't normally sleep all the way through the night and I believe it doesn't work correctly if that's the case?

I think we may try opk's this cycle.

Then again, the pinky spotting has now gone. Normally I don't spot she just arrives (no pre-warning apart from the cramps). The entire year she's been regular, give or take a day or two (that was one month where she was early then the following back to normal). So I can't understand why, on the 11th month my body has just decided to say "right, as your seeing the doc in August, let's fuck your head up even more".

lildottie · 15/07/2015 12:23

kez I regularly wake up in the night. my temps are a bit jagged but I can still clearly see the thermal shift. you could give it a go and just see. I'd do it with the opks too.

OP posts:
kezaroo · 15/07/2015 12:33

I might try it then lil. I just didn't want ttc to take over my entire life and it seems to be at the minute. I knew it was unlikely to happen straight away but I guess I also didn't expect it to take this long and involve so much stress and worry! I just thought adding it opk's, temping etc. would just be more stressing.

I need Wine

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 15/07/2015 13:02

kez what lil said. I never take temps at the same time, and I never had a full three hours' sleep. NEVER. There is a still a rough pattern. Just don't stress about it. Do it if you remember, and if you forget you forget. If the individual temps are high or low, doesn't matter. If you've got open circles or closed circles, who cares. If you use a normal thermometer rather than a bbt one, so be it. Honestly. :) You're just looking for overall shift patterns that can help show ovulation.

kezaroo · 15/07/2015 13:06

Okay, thanks. I'm glad you explained what I'd be looking for because I've no idea!

May have to visit Amazon and get some opk's ordered - they are so expensive in tesco!!

lildottie · 15/07/2015 13:24

get the cheap ic strips, and I'd definitely get a bbt thermometer. a 0.2 degree rise is all u need to confirm ovulation. u won't necessarily get that shown on a normal one.
I find temping reduces the stress. I temp up to ov confirmed, then I know exactly when AF due so can forget about it until then

TriJo · 15/07/2015 13:53

Got my blood tests back - apparently I have high prolactin levels. Wasn't expecting that! Back at the doc's in 2 weeks.

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 15/07/2015 14:06

tri yes high prolactin levels will probably screw you over royally. :( So sorry to hear! But it is treatable! (I recently had mine checked too as part of the whole testing gamut but they were okay; it was just my progesterone levels that were so utterly shite.) So hopefully once the doctor gives you something you'll be upduffed in no time! Grin

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 15/07/2015 14:41

Hi all. Thanks for kind words. DSD has been turned against DP, myself and DD. We don't know why and her mother seems to be making things up that DSD said that have come from us and they're not true... It is a living nightmare. Will probably have to stop TTC after AF (due Saturday) as we only decided to start trying because our family life had finally settled.

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 15/07/2015 14:51

sky I don't know what to say. It sounds like a terrible situation. SadFlowers

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 15/07/2015 15:54

Thanks auf would post on stepparent forums but is a total vipers nest!

lildottie · 15/07/2015 17:37

oh sky that's awful. how old is DSD? I hope it settles soon. fwiw I don't think u should stop ttc. why should you have to put ur life on hold because his ex has got a bee in her bonnet about something.

OP posts:
ChatEnOeuf · 15/07/2015 18:08

Oh no Sky Sad I don't think you should let others rule your life plans so much though.

Sorry to hear the PrL is high, Tri - think Tink had similar, can't remember if she's on some fancy drugs or her endo decided against it...

Random stabby womble today - anyone care to place bets as to what that might mean?

lildottie · 15/07/2015 18:22

my vote is wind chat, least disappointment with that one!

OP posts:
Tinkfromlovejoy · 15/07/2015 18:43

Soo busy, no time for proper catch up.

kez big hugs, tis shit. Don't give up. A break will do you good, but don't give up. Flowers

sky so sorry, maybe think on it for a while. There is never a perfect time to ttc but if you want a baby don't let someone else's actions get in your way.

chat its excitement for your impending good news on Friday! Smile

tri me too! It's fine, no mri needed, just an endo app to advise your GP on fancy drugs. Mine took ages as I'm borderline and have lots of other hormone anomalies in my bloods but eventually started on Dostinex last week for an 8 week trial. Just take one a week with no side effects at all Smile don't even need repeat bloods whilst I'm on them. Don't worry, and lots get pg instantly after start of treatment if they have no other issues. Pm me or ask on here any time xxx

ChatEnOeuf · 15/07/2015 19:24

What do you know, the SANDS forum blanks out feck. Between that and the baby dust I'm not sure I completely fit in Hmm

Wind it is then - apprehension still for Friday... Either that or the womble's wondering where it's EOD action is coming from if DH is still in another country.

Fleur done a baby :)

jellypi3 · 15/07/2015 19:27

chat is Friday also the pm?

ChatEnOeuf · 15/07/2015 19:41

PM was done two days after he was born, Jelly. Friday is results day, opportunity for questions (I have a few hundred ), six-week (7.5w) check and discussion of management of a future pregnancy.

lildottie · 15/07/2015 19:59

I hope Friday gives you some sort of closure chat it must be awful waiting for those results.

bfp on fb group...is that 6 for this thread now?

OP posts:
FeatheredTail · 15/07/2015 20:10

All here for you on Friday Chat

Kez sorry your cycle is being such a knob. Uncertainty (bfn/but no AF) is the worst.

Tink my mum's circle of friends are a bit like that. DM isn't but don't want her drawn into it though. I'm lucky as my older sis has two DCs who keep my DM busy!

5hell work is also super busy for me. I feel your pain. I've only just got to the station to get my 40 minute train back to the 'burbs. Shitsville. AND I've got to wash my (long naturally curly PAIN IN THE ARSE TO DRY) hair before work tomorrow.

Sky try not to let outsiders dictate your plans..that said...I can't imagine how tricky the step family dynamic can be.

NFMV: AF (or...assumed AF) is still in town. Heavily.

I'm becoming a bit worried for my health. Basically almost non stop bleeding for nearly 5 weeks. I'm tired Sad. I don't know how much my liquid iron tonic is helping.

I'm also scared that I should have asked for some kind of blood tests before ttc again this cycle (ie next couple of weeks). Maybe I should have asked for another fbc or for progesterone levels??

It's so hard to juggle work and trying to see a GP where I live.

5hell · 15/07/2015 20:12

it will be 6 lil ...sneaking in on the penultimate page...but i don't think we can count it until tattoo comes on here to tell us herself Grin

since this was such a lucky fred, I'm not sure you're going to get away with ever not starting the next fred lil !

Tinkfromlovejoy · 15/07/2015 20:13

tri read this when you get a sec, hopefully these ladieseses storieses will perk you up a bit. Grin grammar is hard...

MrsTattoo · 15/07/2015 20:25
