nightandthelight · 26/04/2015 16:22

In your mouth Miss under your tongue is the norm :) some people do vaginally though!

Hairstylisttoboris · 26/04/2015 16:35

Thanks for the new thread!

carrot! Woo hoop what a fab bit of news!

Treat your thermometers carefully ladies they can become unreliable if dropped or bashed.

MissMartin1992 · 26/04/2015 16:55

thanks night Grin .. will do boris Grin ... yay i have FF again now

Southy84 · 26/04/2015 17:24

Hi mismrs and niknak glad you are both still about on here. It wouldn't be the same if everyone left. Hopefully the nausea won't stick around for long niknac

You're not out yet woolly Flowers I'm not too bad, im having a month of no OPKs or anything, feeling quiet relaxed actually. Felt quiet down after last months bfn so determined this month to wait wait wait (but we will see :) )

Will be starting up OPKs next month and will hopefully get my blood tests in too! Wish I was as proactive with the thermometer as you missmartin still trying to avoid it if possible but may crack soon

DizzyMerry · 26/04/2015 17:28

I'm feeling a lot better now woolly thanks for asking. The shock has worn off. SIL left for Canada on Thursday and I spoke to her yesterday. She is doing well and I think that's due to being surrounded by her dad and siblings.

Temping is really insightful missmartin. I had no idea that FF can predict ovulation based on the info it has. How cool is that?! I need to get out more!!!

MissMartin1992 · 26/04/2015 18:14

well i said last month if i didn't get a bfp ill try temping as some one mentioned even though i was getting a positive on my opk it didn't mean i was actually ovulating. . im not gna go crazy this month and test everyday before af is even due i actually have done 14 tests in 2 cycles!! wtf .. im stocked up with cb digital tests and frers ready for af time and i dont intend to waste these before af due date hehe... goodluck everyone xGrinx

MissMartin1992 · 26/04/2015 18:22

dizzy that is pretty cool! Grin ... do you think ill will be okay to start temping on cd9 ?? or shall i wait until start of next cycle instead?

DizzyMerry · 26/04/2015 18:43

I think you'll be fine to start temping from cd9 missmartin. How long are your cycles? Do you know when you usually ovulate?

Southy84 · 26/04/2015 18:53

Wow missmartin 14! That's impressive. I had a consultation with a acupuncturist who told me to temp and to start straight away as although my cycle had begun it would start to give me an idea on what was going on. You aren't too far into your cycle so I would say it's not too late to start- at least when (or if) you get to your next cycle you will have most of the cycle to compare with.

I don't have experience in temping but I'm sure some of the other ladies on here will be able to help

MissMrsMummy · 26/04/2015 19:35

Nic that's a good point about bad news... I am trying to stay positive and confident so maybe I won't join yet. I started typing a post last night then changed my mind! I guess I'm not ready. I joined one last month for one week then had to leave due to m/c. Felt bad for bringing the mood down! Though the ladies were lovely and helped me through.

coffee maybe almond milk and brazil nuts is the secret for success! I had both those too! Congrats again :-)

MissMartin1992 · 26/04/2015 19:38

well its always been 26 days maybe 27 at most but last month it was 28 days and last cycle my strongest opk (darker tab the testline) was on cd 13 so around the 7th april.. so i suppose ill have a few days getting to know my body temp before i ovulate Smile

wishiwaspregnant · 26/04/2015 19:58

hey can I join the bus? it seems like a good one with lots of BFP's which is what we want! I am CD5, although hard to tell as AF was late and very light, so I'm not sure when it really started as first few days was pretty much nothing! Hoping I'm coming to an end now. Normally around 28 day cycles, but last month more like 33...? which was odd. Oh well. I'm interested in the ovulation strips. When do you start to use them? Also what are the thermometer's looking for? A dramatic increase or decrease in temp? does this indicate ovulation? I get very hot in bed sometime, maybe this is when I'm ovulating then? You all seem like a lovely positive bunch x

nightandthelight · 26/04/2015 20:05

Hi wish welcome :)

When you start using opks will depend on the length of your cycle (my pack came with a chart which told you when to start).

With the temps you will have quite low temps, then you will see a significant increase when you ovulate. The temps will then stay high until AF is due when they will suddenly drop (if you are pg they won't drop). Would recommend using Fertility Friend as that will work things out for you :)

What are your stats? Age, any other children, cycle number, bfp due date?

MissMartin1992 · 26/04/2015 20:28

hey wish! welcome welcome Grin .. goodluck ttc hunni x

wishiwaspregnant · 26/04/2015 20:59

Hey again I'm 34 and ttc #1 Cycle no 5 I'm on cd5 I think. Great advice night! I'll look into getting a thermometer! I never realised it was to do with ovulation! My DH is always saying it's like sleeping next to a radiator! Now I know why!!! Thanks for clearing that up! According to my fertility ap AF due May 21 so hoping for a BFP around then! How about everyone else?

nightandthelight · 26/04/2015 21:01

I'm May 10th wish :) when you get a thermometer make sure to get one that goes to two decimal places. Most people use babymad ones which are a fiver on Amazon!

DizzyMerry · 26/04/2015 22:37

I think it's a good idea to start temping this cycle missmartin as it will give you an insight into your cycle as southy says.

Welcome wish. I'm due bfp 11 May long overdue seems like the millionth cycle

I use babymad thermometer too and would recommend it.

DH said he would like to continue ttc this cycle but left the decision to me. Picked myself up yesterday and dtd so back on the ttc wagon. I'm happy with that as it has taken my mind off the events of the past few days.

parsnipbob · 26/04/2015 22:39

Didn't realise there was a new bus! Just marking my place :)

MissMartin1992 · 26/04/2015 22:54

yeah i agree hopefully ill figure it out with help from FF ..aww dizzy it was so sad what has happened.. im glad ur feeling a bit better now Grin woohoo to the ttc! that's me girl!! heyyy parsnip..I know i found it today ..im glad you've keep it going Grin Grin

DizzyMerry · 26/04/2015 22:58

Oh and re pineapple juice missmartin it's said to help with implantation so definitely worth trying. Think it's to do with the selenium it contains. Brazil nuts are also good to take throughout the cycle but only 3 a day as I'm sure someone said they can be toxic.

FlatWhiteToGo · 27/04/2015 00:04

Could I please join the bus too? I haven't joined one before as I didn't want to become too obsessed with baby making...but it appears after only 4 months of this TTC malarkey I've turned into a completely ridiculous person anyway Blush.

I'm 30, TTC #1, Cycle 5 (CD8) and AF is due around 15th May (after the last few months I daren't even dream of a BFP, let alone write it!). I've given up booze (apart from work functions), switched to decaf (arggghhh), massively cut down on sugar, started taking EPO and Vitamin B Complex...yet still no sign of a BFP Sad. I even resorted to booking myself into a Premier Inn near DH's work (and driving a 2 hour round-trip to get there!) just to have a quickie with DH, as we realised that I would be ovulating just as he went onto a 48hr shift......it's safe to say that my attempts to "stay chilled" about the whole thing are really not going well!!!

coffeenut · 27/04/2015 00:15

thanks missmartin Smile - glad to see you again, I just replied to your pineapple thread! it contains an enzyme that helps with implantation. You apparently have to eat it fresh during the tww and eat the core as that contains the most.

nic and missmrs I know what you mean. I don't want to piss anyone off by hanging around here but it feels so early to be jumping on an ante-natal thread. Will lurk and provide any info if I know that answer - I hope that's okay? Would defo recommend temping and opks together. starting temping from cd9 is fine - thats about when I started first cycle (as long as you dont ov really early ie cd9/10/11 or earlier).

flatwhite and other newbies I hope this is a lucky bus for you all.
