Hey girls I'm 5DPO! It feels like it's taken ages even to get to this point! Had a free symptoms ie bloating, peeling a lot! And sicky feelings here and there!
Anyone wanna join me in this horrible waiting phase?

Original plan was to hold off until the 2nd but I ordered tests in a bit early (in case of Christmas post problems) so I may not manage that long!!

I'm away from home (ILs) from 27th to 30th so will be easy to resist until back home.

I waited until 15dpo last month partly because of a friend who has had lots (maybe 4?) cp so I was hoping by waiting until definitely after AF due I'd avoid that.... (nevermind). I'm also less confident on ov date this time.

Let me know what you decide so I can use you as an excuse to test earlier than planned

On the one hand, yes it would be good to avoid a potential cp situation again because of the little heartbreak each time.

But I think I'd rather know (just my personal feelings at this moment) if I have a cp rather than just a late period as you're not supposed to use tampons (risk of infections) for the subsequent bleeding & I think it would be better to know if they're recurrent so you could then go to the GP to possibly get it investigated? Has your friend gone to GPs out of interest? I would if they kept happening myself.

So now who was expecting a more summarised answer?

I'm not sure I'll be able to wait til the 30th...

To be honest last time I knew what the test was going to say before I took it, so testing became less urgent. My comment to DP was that if it was negative then I needed to go to the doc anyway to find out why every bit of me felt different in terms of odd cramping, queasiness etc

I think if I feel that obviously pg again by this time next week I'll be able to smugly 'know' without officially knowing and wait until new year. If I'm not so confident then I'll be nervously waiting to test and it'll be negative whenever I do it...

I missed the question on my friend... She has been to the GP lots but I'm not sure she always agrees with the advice she gets and most of the tests come back suggesting she shouldn't have a problem... She does have a son already but has since had an ectopic as well as the cps and one later 9 week mmc.

She is an amazing optimist over it all though! (Although with a serious addiction to POAS which I never quite understood before but can now see the slippery slope looming in front of me )

P.S. I'm counting on Christmas distractions to make me forget the dates and new year will be here before we know it.

Hi, everyone, I'm pretty new to these boards, just started TTC #1. I'm currently 5DPO with zero symptoms but hey, it's still very early. I'm thinking of doing a test on Christmas Eve just to see if I can drink or if I should walk around with coke and pretend it has vodka in it!

It's unlikely that you'd get a bfp on Xmas Eve being that you'll only be 8dpo - I'd personally enjoy the last alcoholic drinks while you can

Afternoon All, I'm quite new here and was planning on starting out on the Jan bus, but have found myself in the TWW early. Didn't expect to OV in my first month off BC but had a BFP OPK on CD13 which was 13th Dec. Does that mean I'm now DPO9? Nervous & Excited & trying not to symptom spot Can I join you all in the longest days ever!!?!

5dpo and slowly going symptom spotting loopy! V.tired, some odd cramps and tmi but my nipples could cut glass they are that stiff haha. Hubby keeps telling me I'm pregnant as he has a funny feeling about it! Xx

OMG MrsC I was just telling my cousin that my nipples keep going really stiff at really inappropriate times I've not seen anyone else talking about that so was wondering what was going on

Mrs C... Please let me know your result when you poas. I'm intrigued as my husband has too said that he's sure I'm pg... He can apparently sense it and I smell different to normal?! Also got incredibly large stiff nipples haha.

I will loopy thank you... Having a hot flush tonight??? What's that all about? Also majorly tired and my boobs are huge!!!!! Could just be the delightful af coming but I do feel strange.

LoopyLa I ended up coming down with a really horrible sickness bug on Saturday night and have been in bed since. This evening if the first time I’ve felt well enough to sit up but still getting hot and cold sweats, dizziness, headache and stomach cramps. One positive is that I’ve contacted my supervisor and told them my work is going to be delayed, so will take the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off.

My sciatica is a lot better thank you. I did end up taking nurofen to take the edge off as you suggested. I have a low level sciatic pain all the time but it flares up every so often, usually around AF time or if I've moved my leg in a certain way. My husband had got me a heated under sheet for the bed and he gave me that early so I didn’t have to use a hot water bottle under my thighs (where I get the worst pain). That has definitely helped a lot!

Hopefully I’ll be up to finishing my Christmas shopping tomorrow, I still have a few presents to get! I always promise myself I’ll be more organised with Christmas next year… but never am!

I'm definitely not feeling it at the moment though. All the niggles from earlier in the week are gone, so the only vaguely symptom-like thing I have left is complete exhaustion (which I suspect could be a desperate need for the Christmas break).

Nothing wrong with blind optimism though surely the lack of the vicious symptoms from last month is a good thing, because they were actually a sign of impending disaster?!

I see there's no word from Boyle yet - has she legged it over to the ante-natal bus and left the rest of us hanging here on this thread
