Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture!

The current Grads Fred is here

The rather nobbish article in which we became a little bit notorious is here

Happy shagging, shaggers!

I have no idea why that little green face is in there. La, didn't the witch muck you about like this last time too?

BothersomeB · 01/09/2014 14:16

Yeah - I figured the tests would all be the same, but the Sainsbury one just seems really tinpot. Not sure what I expected for £350 for 2 and am sure I wouldn't be complaining if it had told me what I wanted to hear!

I find it really offensive when people ask - I once had a sales call (who remembered that the last time she'd called I'd been away on my honeymoon) who thought it was OK to ask if 'we can expect the pitter patter of tiny feet'? A f*cking workplace sales call!? Seriously - what is wrong with people? She didn't call back again after I'd finished with her...perhaps you could tell the cleaner that she'll be the first to know if you have any news but you'd rather she stopped asking all the time?

BothersomeB · 01/09/2014 14:17

*£3.50! If I'd spent £350 I'd expect it to be positive, with a gold line and trumpets playing!!

BothersomeB · 01/09/2014 14:18

Thank Wilma - I plan to try again on Weds is nothing's happened. Would hate to think a weekend of no booze was for nothing...

RPopz · 01/09/2014 14:23

Pink tests are best Smile Good luck Bother x

jellypi3 · 01/09/2014 14:36

Good luck Bother :) Get a FRER, they seem to be the test of choice on here :) And a list of acronyms: www.mumsnet.com/info/acronyms

So TMI alert here, but I'm sure last week I had EWCM, I was so so so sure of it, and today it's gone back to the creamy non EW sort, does that mean I haven't Iced?

Leela5 · 01/09/2014 14:46

And the special Jsing acronyms (for we are special people) are at the top of the Fred.

Yes, wil, yes she did. Punching her repeatedly in the puss as I type

wilmabedrock · 01/09/2014 15:01

It doesn't mean you haven't iced jelly. It could just be normal for you that you get the thicker, creamier cm at this time in your cycle.

jellypi3 · 01/09/2014 15:16

thanks Wilma, I'm absolutely clueless when it comes to this stuff. I tried talking it through with DP today, we both ended up more confused than before the conversation! I think I'm going to read up later on it. It just sucks that everywhere gives you info based on your periods! I know you can Ice without a period, I just don't know if I am!

Gah, too much overthinking :( I need icecream!

Leela5 · 01/09/2014 15:55

Ice cream fixes all. Or cocktails.

I'm invoking law of sod. AF is here, therefore I'm going for cocktails tonight. It would be just my luck (i.e. LOS) if AF is actually not AF.

Meawhile I will just enjoy my cocktails.

BothersomeB · 01/09/2014 16:02

Thanks Jelly and Leela - and there was me thinking you were talking about delicious tea time treats with all jelly's ice and cream! Feel a bit sick now...

callipygian00 · 01/09/2014 16:36

Amazing news Honey! Congratulations!

Hi Bother, welcome!

Kato, tell her you've decided to wait for a while, time's not right etc, and you'll be sure to tell her should you start jsing with intent again! What a gimp.

Totally going to make the most of AF and drink some lovely red wine tonight. Remember I said we'll be on holiday for a decent part of my fertile period? Yeah we might not. Or rather, DH might not. He's not got his passport yet and we (or I) leave on Friday... He doesn't totally believe me that I'd go without him!

honeysucklejasmine · 01/09/2014 16:50

Thank you ladies! La we've only been married 6 months... Might be how?

I have no idea what my temp is as a baseline. But it dropped today to about the same level as it did whilst i iced.

Our strategy was to ensure the egg was so surrounded by sperm that fertilization was guaranteed!

www.babycenter.com.au/a3195/how-to-chart-your-temperature-and-cervical-mucus

Can't do a link on the app but that should work if you copy and paste Jelly. There is a good graph if you google cervical mucus stages.

teejayem · 01/09/2014 17:09

yay to wine, ice cream and cocktails tonight!

honey that just makes me think of your egg being surrounded like something off a police video when they are doing hostage negotiations. Genius!

jellypi3 · 01/09/2014 17:10

Thanks Wilma, that's interesting! So just after your fertile window CM becomes cloudy again. But Saturday (I think it was Saturday) it was really watery, so maybe that's a good sign that I am icing (and apparently DTD at the right time). I'll just wait and see, but that was really helpful thankyou! :)

BeforeIChangeMyMind · 01/09/2014 17:44

Belated congratulations Honey that was most certainly a line. Impressed by your stats too.

Tee I am with you on the miseries this month, I haven't been back since AF because I was so pissed off that my posts would have been a big black cloud on the proceedings. Last month was contraband month, lot of good it did us.

La enjoy your cocktails. You'll get your BFP my lovely.

And then I get EWCM on CD5 - yes really. Anyone? It was there, alright, but CD5??

I'm thinking of taking a break from TTC - lots of reasons, but mostly that it's not making me feel happy. And I could do with feeling happy to face being upduffed with a toddler/preschooler to contend with look after. My sis in law tried for months with no success, took 3 months out and then got her BFP the first month after. Also, my due date from MC would have been early Jan... am thinking of waiting until after that. But then I think of the age gap. Got so much to be happy about, perhaps I should just enjoy us 'as is' for a bit. Has anyone thought the same and if so, what did you do?

wilmabedrock · 01/09/2014 18:28

I wouldn't let the age gap worry you Before. You could have 2 kids really close together and they could still hate each other and never get along. There are no guarantees so if you feel you need a break, don't feel bad about it. You could carry on not using contraception but not making an effort at the same time?

callipygian00 · 01/09/2014 21:33

I agree with Wilma, Before, age gap is not as important as your happiness. Me and my sis are close probably only because we have a 6 year age gap, whereas my husband and his brother are 18 months apart and have always had an overly competitive relationship, he blames it on being so close in age.

BertieBotts · 01/09/2014 21:38

YY age gap will be what it is. There are pros and cons to every age gap. Bigger can be better because older one is more able to accept what is happening and understand it and be excited, be a part of it rather than feeling pushed out. Plus there's a big behaviour change at about 3 which can be challenging and so for a lot of people that coincides with DC2's arrival which can be a bit of a shock!

BeforeIChangeMyMind · 01/09/2014 22:39

It's the age 3 behaviour change I'm struggling with ATM... My formerly sweet-natured DS is now more than a bit challenging and I haven't the faintest idea how I'd cope. And I don't want to just cope. Age gap will be what it is, I know. Or he'll be an only, which will be fine too if that's how it goes.

Had a long chat with DH a few days ago, very solemnly agreed to take a break from ttc. Then DTD and both genuinely completely forgot to use any protection. This 'taking a break' lark is going to need some concentration.

Can I still post? I'm probably going to change my mind and back again about being "on a break". Will probably last about five minutes...

Leela5 · 02/09/2014 07:11

before if you need to take a break then do - it's better for you to be happy and not stressed than miserably slogging on and hating it. We would love to keep chatting to you throughout :)

I invoked LOS and had small glass of wine and a cocktail. Just light ones nothing heavy. Af is dicking about - it spotted a bit then went, never actually turned up. I'm hoping if it does it can wait one more day at least, coz then I'll be over 10dpo and my lp will be longer.

My temp went back up a bit today too - only a tiny amount.

honeysucklejasmine · 02/09/2014 07:15

Thanks ladies. Think I'm going to hang around here now, until i know its all ok.

FWIW: Those of you taking a break... Don't is condoms! I know a few people who "gave up" only to fall pretty soon afterwards. They said the thought it was because mentally, they were thinking about other things. You never know.

honeysucklejasmine · 02/09/2014 07:16

Fx La!

jellypi3 · 02/09/2014 09:03

Morning Viroids! How are we all today? I think I have a stomach bug :( Perfect bloody timing!
