We've been ttc for fe months, before NTNP. However now I'm starting to feel the pressure for BFP.

OP posts:
woodwaj · 02/02/2014 13:23

Ive read a lot about pro's and cons of using opks as hpt. I would say its encouraging but hold out till you get one! Will your oh be mad that your testing early or did you want it to be a surprise? Or both haha.

broodysnoopstie · 02/02/2014 13:25

He wouldn't be mad he just doesn't want me to get too wound up about it all as he's the one who has to pick up the pieces when I'm crying when AF arrives.. and I would love to syrprise him Smile

Vickyvix · 02/02/2014 23:43

Hmmm broody I think you need to go and buy a HPT tomorrow and test!! Positive OPK can be a good sign and the pink after DTD could have been from implantation.......another possible good sign!

I am keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you :) keep us updated.

Sorry to hear AF might have arrived wood :(

Yes, Our scan is tomorrow I'm a mix of excitement and complete nerves, I read my leaflet of all the things that they check for and it made some pretty scary reading. I just so so hope that beany is healthy and doing what it should be. Don't think I'm going to get much sleep tonight. Have been counting down the days to this scan for ages (8 weeks!) but now just really worried they could find something is wrong.

Welcome LMH20 and good luck. The general theory is that it really isn't unusual for it to take around 12 months for a couple to conceive so don't start to worry yet. Some people are lucky and it happens very quickly and others take a little longer. Try to relax and enjoy the action! 3 months is definitely early days.

broodysnoopstie · 03/02/2014 07:58

Good Morning, Eek Vicky thinking about you and keeping my fingers crossed for you and your little bean... All the luck in the world to you. Have flushed fmu but will buy a test today and test tomorrow which will be 14dpo but 2 days before AF is due. I've got no symptoms though so I'm not expecting a BFP

keep us updated!

xx

broodysnoopstie · 03/02/2014 08:20

LM I'm on cycle 6 of ttc I think a lot of people take 6-12 months to conceive try not to worry or stress Grin

woodwaj · 03/02/2014 16:36

Vicky im desperate to know how it went and once we know bean is healthy we want the grand reveal!! AF is still not here just a small bit of brownish spotting yesterday and today first thing!

Have you got your test broody?

broodysnoopstie · 03/02/2014 17:05

yep I've got six tests! Couldn't wait though. POAS and bfn it couldn't of been more negative. whiter than white not even a dot of a line..

come on Vicky cheer me up with some good news! Grin

woodwaj · 03/02/2014 17:18

Haha! I am used to those tests im not even lucky enough to be graced with the presence of an evap line!! Remember FMU is best!

Vickyvix · 03/02/2014 17:57

Well, we're just back from scan. Baby is healthy, everything in order, little heart beating away. It was so wriggly the whole time but we have a fab picture of it sucking it's fingers :)

And........we got a good view of the gender area Grin Grin......

wood the fact that AF hasn't arrived sounds very promising, have you ever had spotting like that before? Sounds similar to my 1.5 day AF just before I got my BFP!! When are you testing??

Ah broody sorry to hear it's a BFN, remember it's early days and FMU is best. Maybe wait a day and test on Wednesday morning?

woodwaj · 03/02/2014 18:46

I remember your spotting was close. Was it red? I have a feeling AF is on the way but there's always a little hope!

Well come on dont make us wait anymore! !!

Vickyvix · 03/02/2014 19:10

Yep it was red for a little bit and then brown (sorry TMI)

Vickyvix · 03/02/2014 19:12

Ha ha, sorry, thought I'd draw out a bit longer. Very pleased to say...........it's a GIRL!!!!! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

I did have a bit of a suspicion, her love of cheese cake kind of made me wonder!

woodwaj · 03/02/2014 19:17

Ahh thats amazing! Congrats! Little mini vicky!! I bet you are both so chuffed!

broodysnoopstie · 03/02/2014 20:31

Awwwwwwwwy yay TEAM pink!! Congrats Vicky I'm sooooo happy for you?

Wood... I'd totally missed that you don't normally spot. When is AF due?? Is it POAS time??

broodysnoopstie · 03/02/2014 20:32

Oops ignore that question mark Vicky!

woodwaj · 03/02/2014 21:35

Well in the last hour its gone red so im presuming thats me out! Onto cycle 17!! :s

Ill carry on with smep I think!

woodwaj · 03/02/2014 21:36

Haha broody, have you seen anchorman?

Who put a question mark on the teleprompter!!

broodysnoopstie · 03/02/2014 21:48

Haha yeah! ha.. That's just made me giggle Grin

Vickyvix · 03/02/2014 22:34

Ha ha love Anchorman! Yep, me and DH are chuffed to bits. Makes picking a name easier :) we're down to two so going to mull it over and see which we prefer.

Hope it's not really AF wood keeping fingers crossed for you - and you too broody

woodwaj · 04/02/2014 09:21

It seems like AF and it is due so im out of this month now I think!

Will you keep your name a secret till she arrives? Friends and family can have a habit of being honest about a name before they arrive and can ruin it for you!

broodysnoopstie · 04/02/2014 11:01

boo. Sorry Wood :( AF is due on Thurs for me and so I'm not testing now until Fri. Feeling strong and busying myself with wedding planning.. (just swapping one obsession for another)

Vicky I'm so pleased for you. How absolutely bloody lovely Grin

If I'm out this month I'm thinking of asking DP not to drink until after Ov. Hmm Do you think that's bad?? It's just he drinks a lot and I really want to give it everything we've got next month..

Vickyvix · 04/02/2014 15:49

Boo, that sucks wood sorry AF got you.

Absolutely keeping the names secret until she arrives, she might look more like one than the other you never know. And wood you are totally right that people can be so opinionated on names beforehand but they are much less vocal after the event (well, to your face anyway!)

broody emerse yourself in the wedding planning, that will surely help keep your mind off testing, I love all things wedding :)

I don't think it's unreasonable to ask your man to stop drinking for one month to see if it helps, or at least to cut down. Tell him it will be healthy for him, you could get him some of those wellman conception vitamins too - he might be up for it (but then again he's a man!)

woodwaj · 04/02/2014 17:42

Personally my other half hardly drinks and neither do I but then again thats not helped me either. It cant hurt to try one month though!

We have 0 boys name and 1 girls name well I have a name for a boy but he doesnt like it. Im pretty sure if I ever get to labour he will freak and I can have what I want haha

onelifeonechance · 04/02/2014 19:32

OMG!!!! I'm so sorry I missed your reveal V, having ridiculous week. But yeay team pink!!!! Knew it!!! Hee Hee Grin it was your sweet tooth that's the giveaway!! Seriously though, so pleased she's happy and healthy, hope you can relax a bit now and enjoy getting her bigger (with cheesecake obv!)

Wood, so sorry for af, it's a bloody bugger and it's so your turn now. What's the plan for this cycle? We're being brave and waiting to start dtd until tmrw, which will be cd11. Think we may have been starting too early then using up the good stuff, so we're trying different approach this time and waiting til right near ov, never done it this way before so who knows. But it feels wrong not dtd like mad!!

Broody, sorry for bfn and hoping af stays well away. I'm undecided re drinking thing. I've cut right down (was never big drinker anyway but only drink 1-2 tops if out) and dh not big drinker either, so figure we're not in the dangerous bracket, but the more af turns up the more I look to why, but then don't want to give up all nice things if this is going to take forever, but then should I if it means I get my bfp....these are the arguments inside my head and I never settle on an answer, sorry no use to you!!!

woodwaj · 04/02/2014 20:51

I think were going to do smep again. I also started from day 11 last time I thought anything before was too early. Thanks for the kind words though you all make it really easy to crack on again!
