We've been ttc for fe months, before NTNP. However now I'm starting to feel the pressure for BFP.

Hi MrsB, same position as me, know idea what my cycle does after so long on the pill either. Here's to us getting some 1st cycle luck!

onelifeonechance · 19/08/2013 07:20

Hello and a big fat welcome to MrsB and morning all Smile

I'm feeling weirdly calm at the moment, with a what will be will be attitude to my 2ww, although I am only right at the start of it so sure the madness will start creeping in soon! Grin

Plus you girls are acting as my distraction as I am very keen to hear of some fixed smiley faces, any luck peeps?

VickyVix · 19/08/2013 07:44

Morning ladies :) Argh no fixed smiley for me today I'm afraid, still flashing though (day 5). Really hoping it'll be tomorrow. Will have to get DH in the mood again later though ;)

Woodwaj - any joy for you? I think you're a day ahead of me ish.

Onelife - fingers crossed for you in the 2ww!

justb01 · 19/08/2013 08:26

Hi Keden! Welcome in ttc adventure :) Hope everything will go smoothly!

Ha! Well my weird calm feeling didn't last long Hmm I've just had my brekkie and my usual cereal didn't taste the same and my first thought was "I wonder if it's because i'm pregnant"???!? Rather than maybe the milk is off? It's going to be a long two weeks....

Sorry no fixed V but have fun tonight Wink

How are you getting along justb01?

VickyVix · 19/08/2013 09:11

Ha Onelife, you never know?! You could be, I have my fingers crossed for you.

It's mad how your brain can play tricks on you. I approached this ttc feeling very level headed and sensible but i'm not sure that's still the case! today I'm feeling very bloated and nauseous so for me I think this means ov is imminent - or it just means I am thinking about it so much I'm imagining things :)

woodwaj · 19/08/2013 10:49

Flashing smiley for me again!! Arrghhh!! Ha! I'm now blaming clearblue for my lack of fixed smiley, I'm convinced that they are making me use half the pack (20 pack) before I get a fixed so I have to buy more!

KedenTTC1Cycle2 · 19/08/2013 12:19

Hello Vjones1985, sorry for the late response. Had a no-internet weekend and have only just had a chance to get online. I got AF on August 15th, so Cycle 1 was a bust. Now on Cycle 2.

Hi Justb01 thanks for the welcome!

VickyVix · 19/08/2013 12:19

Wow, that's a whole 6 days of flashing smiley for you, I thought it supposed to be only a couple of days of flashing before the fixed?? But who knows, i'm new to all this. Flashing is good news though :)

I'm getting a bit doubtful I'm ever going to see the fixed smiley (am on day 5 of flashy). Time to google I think.

Let me know if you get it tomorrow, have fingers crossed for you!

VickyVix · 19/08/2013 12:22

Hi Keden, sorry to hear you got a visit from AF. Best of luck to you on cycle 2 though, it's still early days :) I may well see you on the September bus!

woodwaj · 19/08/2013 13:00

I have googled it and several days of flashing smileys don't seem unusual for these new tests! They must just be really sensative!

VickyVix · 19/08/2013 14:56

Phew, thanks Woodwaj, my faith is now restored - just willing that fixed smiley on for both of us :)

PinkHat1 · 19/08/2013 18:28

I think I'm in the frustrated camp of using these OPKs. Although I got a fixed smiley last Monday (after two days of using the CB OPK) dtd that night and 2days later. Probably not enough times but OH was away for work which is not ideal so feel this month was wasted Sad currently in my 2ww now sigh it's going to be a long 2weeks!

woodwaj · 19/08/2013 19:22

That's good that you got your fixed smiley though! Are you going to text next Monday Pink?

PinkHat1 · 19/08/2013 22:11

I'm going to try and hold out testing as long as I can but will probably end up doing one next week - I'm not usually so impatient!

woodwaj · 20/08/2013 07:30

Let us know how you get on! I'm flashing again!!!

VickyVix · 20/08/2013 08:29

Well done on getting the fixed Pink, and you DTD at the right time so fingers crossed, hope the 2ww goes quickly and ends in a BFP for you!

Woodwaj, me too another flashy today, that's 7 days in a row.

I have hope though, was reading another thread last night and somebody had 14 days of flashing smiley before a fixed and got a BFP after the 2ww which is very reassuring :)

woodwaj · 20/08/2013 11:02

Yeah, I'm going to keep at it unless AF comes first! My cycle defo isn't right yet as I had AF on 24th of last month! Here's to tomorrow!!

VJONES1985 · 20/08/2013 11:09

Three days in a row of positive opk. Is that normal?

Karmalaa · 20/08/2013 12:36

20 days since I had the nexplanon out, no AF yet. I know I should wait for a full cycle to start TTC but because I'm super impatient I've already adopted the DTD lots and lots approach much to the delight of DP. I know it's unlikely to happen this month but can't help hoping a little!

CatsCantFlyFast · 20/08/2013 12:55

Guys, remember that your 'flashing smiley' indicates you are having an oestrogen surge which comes before the LH surge. Your fixed smiley indicates the LH surge which happens normally 12 to 36 hours pre O. It is possible for your oestrogen surge to happen without an LH surge (and therefore no O), or for the LH surge to happen but still not O. It is more common while cycles are regulating after hormonal contraception for the surges to be longer or to not progress through the normal cycle of oestrogen then LH then O.

CatsCantFlyFast · 20/08/2013 12:57

...the indicative 2 days of flashing pre a fixed smiley that is given on the instructions is for an average cycle, and you should expect those who have recently come off hormonal contraception to not yet be having anything resembling an 'average' cycle

woodwaj · 20/08/2013 13:51

I know its a right pain, trying to figure out cycle with the opk's as a guide really! Its reassuring to know something is happening even if its not exactly right yet! I have my hospital appointment a week tomorrow so hopefully ill get some questions answered!

VJONES1985 · 20/08/2013 18:05

I'm not using clearblue ones, just basic poas tests that either have a line or not. I've had ewcm and a dark line for the last three days so hopefully ovulation will happen and it's not just a long LH surge :(

VickyVix · 21/08/2013 08:33

Fingers crossed for you VJones, I have another flashy today - bored of flashys now, just want that fixed!
