Right who's next with the BFP???

OP posts:
SweetieTime · 30/03/2013 20:55

Aw Jen none of us here can help the circumstances we find ourselves in. Please don't feel guilty for being more able to conceive than those of us who require assistance. It is all just luck. I am more hurt by the insensitive way people announce their pregnancy. Those bloody Facebook pregnancy trackers are my personal bugbear so unless you plan to have one of those we aee all good.

Solars · 30/03/2013 23:08

I go away and what's this I hear Jen lovely? A BFP for you?? Grin Grin Grin congratulations Thanks There's no rhyme or reason to any of this ttc lark but I can't imagine anyone here being offended. I for one am very happy for you Smile

Sorry but I'll have to catch up properly over the next couple of days, but hope you are all well and enjoying the time off during this long weekend xx

NoMaybeAboutIt · 31/03/2013 10:09

Lovely to have you back Solars

Jen I second Geek and Sweetie. Not a kick in the teeth at all, I'm very, very pleased for you. And I'm so pleased you have your heads around it now! I also believe minijenno2 is due the day before my birthday! Hurrah [buwink]

JenFreggle · 31/03/2013 10:50

Thanks, I would hate to think that I made any of you feel bad for what was basically sheer carelessness on my part. While this baby is most definitely unplanned, it is very much wanted just much earlier than we would like

DD was born the same month as DH, this one is due in the same month as my birthday [bugrin]

keepitgoing · 31/03/2013 12:02

Jen don't feel bad! There is no fairness to ttc, as there isn't to so much of life. We all know you want the baby, and that you're a great mum. What's the difference of a few months years...

I agree with sweetie its insensitivity that's awful, and you def aren't insensitive! I also hate those trackers, also a cousin who announced her pg at six weeks, I mean wtf. Fb at six weeks? Clearly has no clue.

And we will have bfps for all, soon enough.

keepitgoing · 31/03/2013 12:03

My doctor has told me no swimming till 8 weeks. It's now 40 degrees. I just want to lie in the ac till we come home in July...

ControlGeek · 31/03/2013 12:19

No swimming keep? I've never heard that one before - did he say why? If it helps, I'm not great with super hot weather and lie on the bed periodically spraying water from a plant mister into the air. It's bliss when it lands [bugrin]

jen how could we possibly feel bad? We now have another brooker on the grads thread, waiting for us to join!

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 31/03/2013 12:28

Hope you're all enjoying the long weekend.

While I'm here, can someone update who is having what and when, I'm completely lost :) thanks.

keepitgoing · 31/03/2013 12:39

geek he said no exercise really, as risk of mc at the moment. I think its partly the Thai attitude to pg, but from Googling it seems about half half docs saying do nothing till 12 weeks, or just do whatever! I am quite paranoid but equally think this OS ott, and there are benefits to exercise in pregnancy. Not sure what I'll do rebel

boo is chocolate your first post labour treat?

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 31/03/2013 12:48

Mmm, it's a difficult one Keep are the chances of mc increased in assisted pregnancies? The advice I was given was so keep doing what I always did but not to start anything new.

I'm torn between chocolate or really thick cut white bread with chippy chips post labour

keepitgoing · 31/03/2013 12:57

They are a bit, boo but its not necessarily causal. Ie may not be the AC that causes it, but the reason for infertility, iyswim. There appears to be no real evidence linking exercise and mc, so I think with assisted pregnancies we are all just playing it safe.

Theoretically mine should be like a normal pregnancy now, other than progesterone for another three weeks.

I nominate geek in charge of updates. Very organised, that woman...

ControlGeek · 31/03/2013 13:02

boo no contest - thick-cut chip butty with a choclate cake for pudding

I'll need to look back for keep's list for you boo, my memory is atrocious at the moment.

ControlGeek · 31/03/2013 13:04

oh crap, just seen my xpost with keep [bugrin]

keep perhaps playing it safe for 12 weeks is a small price to pay along with months and months of little to no booze, taking pills til you rattle, weeks of jabbing yourself...

ControlGeek · 31/03/2013 13:08

Here we go - Assisted Brookers' List:

Solars monitoring cycle next month
Beedle ivf appointment v soon...
Sweetie ET in April
Maybe icsi the cycle after next
Geek expecting to get ICSI kick-off appt by end of April
Cupcakes ivf in next few months, brooking for soon
Scarlett iui coming up

If any of this is wrong or out of date please let me know. My brain is like swiss cheese these days.

keepitgoing · 31/03/2013 13:10

solars how was your time away? Are you still there?

SweetieTime · 31/03/2013 15:07

Solars lovely to see you back, how was Italy?

Geek thanks for the list, it is all looking very exciting for the Brookers

keep when I was going the IVF before I was told no hot baths, but I had thought that was down to raising the bodies core temp. I suppose it could also introduce infection as there has been a lot of rustling going on up there.

boo chip butty with thick cut chips in door step white bread with ketchup I am not sure what I would be looking forward to more, meeting booby or tucking in!!!

I could post in AIBU but will vent at you lovely lot instead. DH and I have had words this afternoon as we have been invited to the Christening of his best mates DC. You may recall that his wanker best mate had a child with his then girlfriend who already had 5 kids (not to him). They have since split up before the baby was even born, she has not given the child his surname but that of her previous hubby to keep all the kids with the same surname. The Christening wouldn't be my idea of fun at the best of times but it will fall around the time we are either waiting for our embies to grow or just had them put back. AIBU not to want to go? I am ok if DH goes alone but I just don't feel I will be able to face everyone cooing over the baby under such strained and false situation. Any thoughts?

ControlGeek · 31/03/2013 15:35

sweetie I think you're being perfectly reasonable. These men of ours just don't get it most some times. I can see why he would want to be there for his mate, regardless of the circumstances of the relationship, but it's not like you're trying to stop him from going. Maybe try to downplay it a bit? Something like 'Oh that's lovely. I don't think I'll be up to it, but you go and give them all my best.' Does your IVF clinic offer counselling? It might be worth having a chat with the counsellor about how hard you're finding things like that in general, s/he may be able to give you tips on how to explain it to DH?

ControlGeek · 31/03/2013 15:39

jen just noticed your easter nc [bugrin]

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 31/03/2013 15:40

Sweetie I think that I well timed migraine could be on the cards that day, I would not want to go either. Is DH ok about going on his own or would he miss it if you didn't go, that could change things a bit.

I think meeting booby is still more exciting, but Geeks food porn (chips AND chocolate [bushock]) could just about trump it! [bugrin]

Thanks you for the updated list, so many exciting times ahead!!

GreenOlives · 31/03/2013 19:21

Happy Easter ladies! I have been having a clear out and I have lots of pregnancy tests to give away free to a good home - a load of internet cheapies and a 2 pack FRER - so just let me know if you want them, first come first served! Grin From reading the list of what's happening it won't be long before you'll all be needing them! Smile

GreenOlives · 31/03/2013 20:16

I have 20 internet cheapies so I can split them into 2 batches Smile

I had various opk sticks and preg tests passed on from other brookers (def had some from biscuits and fluffy) I like to think they bought me good luck and Id love for mine to do the same Smile

GreenOlives · 31/03/2013 20:20

Actually I think it was Lanisoh that biscuits sent me - and that's been lucky, no cracked nipples in sight this time round! Grin

SweetieTime · 31/03/2013 21:20

Olives thank you for your very kind offer. I have just been to check my ttc testing stash. I have 5 Internet cheapie hpt, 1 first response and 2 superdrug test Blush Blush . I also have a single lonely internet cheapie opk. So I think this is plenty to be keeping me going.

ControlGeek · 31/03/2013 21:25

Oh my word sweetie you put me to shame. I was thinking I was getting a bit low:

OPK
64 x IC
13 x CBFM sticks

HPT
31 x IC
2 x Superdrug Own Specials
3 x FRER
2 x Clear Blue
1 x Clear Blue Digital

& 2 x IC HPTs gifted from other brookers, that I have saved for when I am confident of a good result.

Oh god I am such a TTC geek.

SweetieTime · 31/03/2013 21:31

omg geek I actually snorted when I read your list. You really are very well prepared. Were you a Brownie or Guide. I am sure Jen or Beedle could recruit you as leader. Wink
