Well done keep I hope its the first of many :o :o

Right who's next with the BFP???

OP posts:
TheLittleFriend · 28/03/2013 11:41

Keep I've missed your bfp, congratulations!! GrinGrinThanks

keepitgoing · 29/03/2013 04:23

Thanks little! Hope all is well with your two x

cartoontrickster · 29/03/2013 07:20

am leaving mumsnet. bye.

SweetieTime · 29/03/2013 07:21

OMG I pop away for a while and you guys go and get yourselves not one BFP but 2!!! Just greedy I say, even though one was a bit lot of a shock. Well fingers crossed there are a few more in the coming weeks.

I think the list keep put together was an excellent reminder where everyone is.

Beedle my parents are Candy Crush addicts they say it keeps their old brains active I could ask them to be your virtual friends if you like?

Keep good luck with the scan tomorrow, do they scan you super early over there or are you 7 weeks already?

Geek has AF gone now? Hope she has left you now to get on with things. Are you seeing the Dr about the infection? Don't take any chances, you must look after yourself.

I looooovvvvvvved my hollibobs, just what the Dr ordered. Although I did get my meds a bit mixed up, I think I ended up taking too many wine confusion wasn't involved - honest I am going for a womble scan on Thursday but expect a call from the clinic to let me know AF has arrived with the donor and she has started her jabs!!! There was a time many moons ago when I would have thought it very bizarre to be told of another persons AF arrival. Now it is really nothing strange at all - how times change.

SweetieTime · 29/03/2013 07:23

Cartoon cross post my lovely, sorry you are having such a tough time. You don't have to leave us just lurk for a bit. There is loads of support & advice on here that can help you. Hope you are getting the support you need in RL.

ScarlettInSpace · 29/03/2013 07:49

cartoon I second what sweetie said [even though I'm ignoring her & her tan] I lurk more than post these days but its a bit of a security blanket I find. Big hugs though whatever you decide x

2BFPs? Who was the second? [fake blonde]

Had my info session for IUI yesterday, the nurse was apologising because after IVF/ICSI info overloads she felt she hardly had anything to tell us! I can cope with a few tablets and 4 jabs a month though Grin

So long as AF arrives Friday-Sunday next time then we can go ahead - this one started on a Monday so 27 day cycle is fine this month thanks body!

Hope you all have a nice Easter, we have lots of time with SKs this weekend which is nice x

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 29/03/2013 08:13

Scarlet the second surprise one is Jen (a very shocked Jen!) She did POAS to try encourage AF to turn up and prove she wasn't cos she was having quite a long cycle, she ended up with 2 lines and a very shocked DH!

ScarlettInSpace · 29/03/2013 08:34

ah i see, congrats Jen then!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 29/03/2013 08:44

Hello,

God I've missed a lot! I've had a really really busy week at work.

Catoon I don't know if you'll see this but just wanted to say that I've "left" mumsnet a few times when ttc has become too much. I hope you come back soon as we will all miss you. However you are grieving for your little pebble and you must do whatever you feel you have to do to get through this time. We will all be thinking of you and will be here if you need anything x

Beedle well done on getting your letter, I'm brooking for a ironic pre IVF BFP or starting IVF before the shutdown.

Sweetie sounds like you had a fab holiday, just what the Brookers ordered! It's so weird but I agree there is no such things as TMI after a long ttc journey Shock I can't wait for the donor's AF to arrive so you can start Grin

Scarlett hope you guys have a lovely weekend with the SKs

Wow I can't believe the news about Jen she and DH must be so shocked. Great news though Smile

Keep good luck for the scan and bloods tomorrow. What time are you having them? not that I'm planning to obsessively check MN or anything Wink

My friends are being remarkably strong about their loss. I think it hasn't really hit them yet tbh. I'm hoping to pop around for a cup of tea in the next few days if they are up to it.
I'm off for 3 days which I'm really excited about as I can't remember the last time I was off work over Easter. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

keepitgoing · 29/03/2013 09:53

sweetie!!! Am so glad you had lovely holidays. Coming home's always a bit rubbish, though, isn't it? I am super excited for you, and brooking for the donor's AF to arrive asap! Oh wow, not long! :)

I'm nowhere near 7 weeks, unfortunately :) 5 weeks exactly today. The only thing they should see tomorrow will be the yolk sac, and that it's in the right place. And that hcg has gone up enough. I think they'll do lots of scans, most likely just to make money... I should be done by 10am, cups. 3am your time, so you won't need to be checking all day ;) enjoy your Easter. I'm now off to Google where we can get an easter brunch here - I want lamb, hot cross buns and easter eggs!

Scarlett enjoy your weekend with SKs. Iui will seem like child's play after ivf! Are you doing injectibles then or what?

face do whatever you need to get through this shitty time, but we'll be here when you need us.

geek my science continues, you'll be pleased to know. I am testing out a theory dh found that chocolate reduces miscarriage. Happy to oblige :)

ScarlettInSpace · 29/03/2013 10:51

keep yep clomid & menopur - but seriously, half a dozen tablets & 150ml Menopur every other day, 3 times in total + a trigger shot, that's a walk in the park lol!

I'm not expecting it to work at all though, so OH has suggested I view it as a series of monitored cycles with a little pharmaceutical nudge [and a gazillion vitamins supplements & diet tweaks lol] and 3 opportunities to put the right stuff in the right place. We'll see...

keepitgoing · 29/03/2013 11:50

You never know, do you Scarlett! And that sounds easy peasey

BeedlesPineNeedles · 29/03/2013 15:43

cartoon you'll always be welcome back here. I hope some time out is just what you need.

keep good luck for tomorrow. Candy crush is a Facebook game, also available as an app, tis rather addictive

sweetie thankyou for the kind offer, I do have a few friends that play they were just ignoring my requests for help [bushock] I've introduced Mrb to it now

cups enjoy your weekend off

scarlett have fun with the SKs

I am working on my Easter plan of eating my entire body weight in chocolate [bugrin]
As well as some DIY and gardening

OP posts:
keepitgoing · 30/03/2013 04:46

Hi all, just to let you know scan and bloods were all good, though there's not much to see at 5+1... Just the gestational sac and possible yolk sac. Anyway, now nothing till 18/04 when I should be 7+6, to hear heartbeat. Seems ages away.

Hope everyone's enjoying the long weekend

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 30/03/2013 05:25

Keep great news so far Smile did you find anywhere to go for Easter brunch?

Beedle I'm jealous of the chocolate consumption. I started on a diet last week as I wanted to lose the extra half stone that's crept on after Xmas before starting IVF. Stupid idea really, I should have waited until after Easter Grin

keepitgoing · 30/03/2013 06:05

Yes, they have roast lamb, eggs, hot x buns. Amazing!

Sod the diet cups, take four a day off. I didn't put any weight on during ivf btw though I know some people do. Why are you up?!?!

BeedlesPineNeedles · 30/03/2013 07:19

Excellent news keep only another 35 weeks to go [bugrin]

cups i could also lose a bit of weight but I've decided the diet starts on Tuesday, but maybe somewhat ruined by the 21 creme eggs I have ordered from amazon [bugrin]

Has anyone got the zita west book on assisted conception? If i buy it, will it tell me anything I didn't already know from you guys or the internet?

OP posts:
BartletForTeamGB · 30/03/2013 07:31

Great news, keep. I'm convinced time moves more slowly during the first trimester!

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 30/03/2013 08:00

I woke up with a cold this morning, I couldn't get back to sleep as my nose is so blocked Confused So naturally I came straight on mn to see your lovely news Keep It's good to hear you didn't put on any weight, that's why I'm dieting as most people seem to put on a far bit during IVF.

I haven't got the book Beedle I did nearly buy it a few months ago but figure I'm so far down the road now that its probably pointless.

I'm sat in bed watching gossip girl and rom coms crap in other words on Netflix while I suffer with my snotty nose and cough

SweetieTime · 30/03/2013 08:21

Keep great news that all looking good for miniKeep. Hope you enjoy your Easter lunch, sounds fab. I haven't heard of the brunch concept until Dubai where they have these on a Friday but we missed them as we arrived on the Friday so our timing was a bit out. Sound amazing though.

Cup sorry to hear that you have cold, I hate having cold. I have put on quite a bit of weight since doing IVF. It is a difficult one to say if it is IVF related or not. I didn't put weight on during the treatment but afterwards first time, about 4/5 pounds. But this time the meds I have been taking have made me more hungry and I have put on about 5 pounds. But I have also had Christmas and 2 holidays in this time so it could all be due to this and I am just wanting to blame the IVF meds.

Beedle I borrowed a book about 6 months in to TTC, I think it was the Zita West one. But it didn't really tell me anything new. I had already learnt more from here than the book could offer. It was a real tome too and quite heavy going.

Scarlett hope you are having a good time with SK

I am not sure if I am supposed to be having my hair done today, just waiting for a reasonable time to give them a call to check. It isn't in my diary but I do remember a conversation with another friend who is also booked in at the same time. My head is officially a shed.

ScarlettInSpace · 30/03/2013 08:27

keep glad to hear everything is in the right place at the right time!

beedle you won't necessarily learn anything new but it is worth a read, she puts things quite simply. I bought mine off eBay for about £2 Wink I would recommend it, I'm just rereading the section on when IVF fails.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 30/03/2013 10:21

Keep that's great news! Well done lovely.

Beedle I have the book. I did find it interesting to read. And it's also good for MrMaybe to try and get his head around it.

Hope you feel better soon Cups

Scarlett I like MrS's way of thinking. I am brooking no argument it's going to work.

Glad you had a lovely holiday Sweetie

ControlGeek · 30/03/2013 19:47

keep, lovely, that is brilliant news! Looking forward to hearing about minikeep's hb in three weeks or so [busmile] Loving your science experiment - and don't forget that chocolate is made from a bean, which is a vegetable, therefore it counts as one of your five a day. Not to mention the milk content counting towards your calcium intake!

cup I'm sorry, I've just picked up on your comment about your friends' loss. That's awful. I'm glad they seem to be coping, but it's still so so awful. How are you enjoying having Easter off?

sweetie hope you're feeling nice and refreshed from your holiday, and that you brought a little sunshine and warm weather back with you!

scarlett your DH is a very wise man. Brooking that your laid back approach to 'monitored cycles' gets you your BFP. Fact.

beedle how's the marathon chocolate eating going? I have the Brookers' copy of the Zita West book, but am still only half way through it. I think I was hoping for revelations and was a bit disappointed that it was just stuff I already knew, on the whole.

AF has finally departed, yay! Clocks go forward tonight, but I refuse to tell the cats. They can just have breakfast at their normal bodyclock time [bugrin] Had a weird experience yesterday - I was out mowing the lawn because the weather felt quite warm and the sun was out, then it started to snow! Very peculiar feeling.

Bloke came to repair the car windscreen today, and had to go away without doing it as he said he didn't have all the parts! Booked in for Thursday now but we have to drive it to their depot, despite the size and location of the chip/crack meaning we shouldn't be driving the car at all.

No chocolate here, but have had a lot a drop of wine the last couple of nights [bugrin]

JenFreggle · 30/03/2013 20:18

Geek glad AF has finally left you, she's obviously decided to make her last visit to you for a while and therefore made the most of it.

I hope that my unplanned BFP hasn't upset anyone on here. The whole TTC process is so unfair, nobody should have to wait months or even years to conceive. We've totally got our heads around it now and are excited about this baby but I understand that it could have felt like a kick in the teeth for some of you.

ControlGeek · 30/03/2013 20:51

Once a brooker, always a brooker - we knew you'd come round, and a Brooker BFP is always to be celebrated on this fred. Very glad that you and MrJen are happy to be happy but poor [bugrin]
