I have bought the zita west book on assisted conception, I figure I better seriously start getting ready plus I'm still a bit confused about some aspects of assisted conception.

I just bought the book today from eBay so it will be a while before it gets here. I'm driving myself crazy that I'll get OHSS, or we won't get any eggs or they won't fertilise and a million other crazy thoughts. I've been consulting Dr Google stupidly so I thought reading up on it properly would be more sensible maybe I need a slap with that fish!

Olives and DinoBart sorry AF is visiting, AF is not due for me in about 5 days. Maybe if she's stuck with you guys I could get a miracle BFP. I've just booked a spa day for may so it would be terrible timing as I wouldn't be able to have the treatments I've booked

cup everyone mental about all those things... Does it help to maybe hope ivf might identify the issue even if not successful first time? I think you're unexplained like us, which is frustrating. I think you'll feel better once you start, and then can just focus on one step at a time. But I am brooking massively that you'll get that miracle. It does happen!

Also, just re ohss, if you do get it, which you won't, it tends to come after egg collection, so you can still make embys, they'd just 'freeze all', so it's not like the cycle's wasted.

Good morning all other brookers, hope m8 are all well, booking super hard for appointments and treatments so start immediately while AF is looking the other way

Can not believe AF has struck down so many Grads in one go. At least she is busy with you guys she can not darken our doors.

Cup as keep says everyone mentals about those sort of things. I think the first found of IVF is more fact finding so they know what is going on. I still think it is a very black art as all patients seems to react so different to the treatment, the meds and everything. Just take it in small steps and try not to look too far ahead, just concentrate on the bit you are doing at that time. We are always on stand by with the Brooking wet fish.

Boo clinic are gearing us up for a day 3 transfer on Fri but I was hoping to go to day 5 so we get the best possible chance. I think the fewer embies you get the sooner clinics like to put them back. They are worried the longer they grow them the higher risk of losing them and I suppose the fewer you have to start with the risk is that they will lose them all. We will just have to see how we get on later in the week. Plus we are using the embryoscope to monitor our embies 24 hours a day so hopefully this will give the embryologists the best possible knowledge what they are doing. It is all a waiting game.

So Boo how is booby? not long now until your sneeze. Can not wait to hear what flavour you get. I luffs a surprise.

Booby seems quite comfortable and happy at the moment. We should get the eviction timetable when we go back to the clinic next Monday :) tis very exciting, I absolutely can't wait to find out the sex of this chunky monkey I think it's a boy though :):)

MrS has to go tomorrow 10am to do his bit, fresh. He is really looking for forward to it NOT then I should get a call in the afternoon to let me know the grand total of eggs. I have to start on the progesterone bullets tomorrow afternoon too, 2pm sharp. Apparently this mimics the embie fertilisation so have to be very specific in timings. Then Wed a call to tell me embie count.

Yep booby is being evicted, they estimate birth weight at 38 weeks to be 8lb+ because of the gd, so they don't want me staying pregnant for too long. I'm at the clinic Monday I will be 37+3 weeks and they are going to try a stretch and sweep to start things off, if that doesn't shift it then I'm in the following week for a proper induction [eek]

Sweetie maybe using that camera let's them choose the best ones by day 3, so best to get them back in. Wowee!!! Are you ok? Are you working most of the time this time? Know you were a bit stir crazy last time.

keep i was off far too long last time. so this time have booked Friday and Monday off with lite touch working from home the rest of next week. I have quite a stressful job made worse at the moment by a couple of new starters and my boss being off. I am not sure about the impact of stress when embies go back but it is a fine line between work stress and ivf mental stress. Where is that wet fish?

A wee bit of confusion in the geek household today. Temp has gone skyhigh this morning, so it's possible that I may have stealth-ov'd yesterday SWI-o-meter is looking good, but I had expected to have to wait at least another two days. On the plus side, this will be my first 28-day-cycle in years

Cups It was great to have the time off thanks and I would highly recommend some time off after your ivf result, a nice chance for both of you to reflect on what's happened with whatever outcome you get. In terms of appointments DH has his repeat soap free sample to produce a week on thursday and I may be going in sometime this week when af arrives to start my monitoring cycle so hopefully things will start to move for us too although the last month has been nice not paying too much attention to all things ttc related.

Geek glad to hear your'e healing nicely, but sorry to hear you've been having to work weekends. Yay for a 28 day cycle!!

Geek no one has said if we get to see embiecam but I presume not live anyway. I know other ladies have been given the DVD of their embies but not sure if this is available at our clinic. I would love to watch it live though that would be very interesting even though I wouldn't have a clue what I was looking at

Does anyone know the success rates for different day embie transfers? I am not sure if I should accept day 3 transfer or push for day 5. I have read this article (beware it is negative towards day 3 transfers) and am now confused. I might ask DH to ask the clinic for their info when he goes tomorrow. Does anyone else have any links I can review go mental worrying about options ?

sweetie masses of good luck and love for today. I read that article and think that man has a bee in his bonnet. He also says he does assisted hatching on all.

My clinic here say that 30% of embryos will be chromosomally normal on day 3; 70% on day 5. So basically better to wait to day 5 to weed out the bad ones. But, if you have few embryos there's no point waiting so might as well put them back in the best environment (its thought the lab environment may kill some healthy embryos).

this article suggests no difference in pregnancy rates, and is a RCT. Most just compare preg rates which isn't fair as patients have already been self selected to day 5 transfer, ie those with lots of embryos etc.

I would say two things - firstly I think you ultimately need to go with your Colin CC'd recommendation, as each lab is different and you want them to do what you do best. Second, you are having this camera thing, which may negate the argument of not knowing which the good 'uns are on day 3.

Wait to talk to them, and see what your fertilisation numbers are like.
