fuls POAS is never daft in my humble opinion, it helps me stay sane(ish) and not over analyse.

Block wow that is HUGE news, how do you feel about it? Or are you in shock? I would be excited BUT it is a huge adjustment, I don't take change well fingers crossed he gets a HUGE payrise to go with it! Grin

Blockette · 08/01/2013 11:28

Thanks Mother - Still in shock really, and more complicated as I have a horse that would need shipping over too, If we stay for the long haul.

Thunder - It was always on the cards for about 5 years time, but not this year and not this quick!

It could be 2 years or it could be permanent, depending on how we like it (I've only ever been to Disney land when I was 7! I've never seen "real" america).

Payrise is lovely though ... double what he is on now + they would pay for us to rent over there on top, and they pay for flights to come back home 2wice a year, so we get to keep our house here for when we come home. - It's exciting, and the best time to do it really - If it is going to happen, its best to do it before we are too old, or have children in schools I suppose - It's just the shock about how quick its all happening - 2 months!! wow! Going to speak with his family tonight, as that is his biggest issue (only child/grandchild), my family have my brother, and we have always moved around a bit so although I would miss them, they wouldn't stop me going, or make me feel guilty.

Thunderthunderthundercats · 08/01/2013 11:41

That is SO exciting then, block. And you can move jobs ok? What an adventure! How do you feel about delaying the active ttc?

Sure you shouldn't Poas today after all just to be sure Wink

Blockette · 08/01/2013 12:02

TBH with the pay rise I wont have to work! - Bonus! Wink

You know what - I think I will! I'll just get a cheap one .. cause they don't count right?

  • I do feel a bit sicky today, but then I haven't have time to eat anything yet after that shock!

I don't know how I feel about the TTC bit, but it makes sense I guess, as it will be quite stressful anyway and we don't really know how the heath care system works over there yet, so need to think about that too.

Elektra83 · 08/01/2013 12:13

Ahh Block that is fantastic news! Congratulations...it's scary but will be a good move. I lived in NY for just over a year and loved every minute of it. The health care system was fantastic - if you have insurance that is. Really expensive if you don't (I imagine you will have insurance though!)

Have you POAS yet?

Smile
Thunderthunderthundercats · 08/01/2013 13:08

And, block?!!

Ps super bonus not having to work. Can I come?!

RaspberrysAndIcecream · 08/01/2013 13:59

Wow Block!! That's huge news and a lot to take in and think about. But it sounds like an amazing opportunity!!

Have u poas yet?!!

I'm not going to poas until next week - in a way it's been quite nice waiting to ov - the 2ww has turned into a 1ww!!! (not that I'm any more patient but I'm going with the positives!!)
I don't think it has worked out this time - I've not been feeling 100% over the last few weeks, and cbfm says I didn't ov - BUT it could have missed it and I could be wrong clinging onto hope

Blockette · 08/01/2013 14:54

:( -ve

ah well, one lot of excitement is enough for one month I suppose.

How long should I let this WFT cycle run before going to a doctor though? a week late (so 38 days) is a bit long with a -ve test, nothing has been different over the past few months ... my last WTF cycle was in October 43 days ...

Thunderthunderthundercats · 08/01/2013 15:03
Sad

Arse, sorry block

Not sure about dr- do they do any tests with long cycles or are they likely to send you home and tell you to wait it out?

Thunderthunderthundercats · 08/01/2013 16:57

Can anyone shed done light with opks again- sorry I know I'm demanding...

So I got my line on Sun, hooray! Kept testing though every day, presuming that line would disappear and it's still there! It's a bit fainter but def still there. Got mixed messages from google sesh- does anyone know what this means? A lot of discussions on google said ov likely to happen shortly after first line and that many packs advise you to stop testing after this to avoid this confusion.....

fl0b0t · 08/01/2013 17:45

Woah, I blinked and look how busy this thread is! block sounds like a rollercoaster, will you stay in touch from America?! Sounds like sunny (i think it was, blown away by blocks news!) And I am having similar wtf af (great phrase) with limits brown discharge but no af proper! Prob not due til tomorow (i seem to have a v short cycle), had awful sore boobs for over a week and feeling very laid low today. Could be a cold and bad gas....? But feeling crap. Might poas tonight as we've got guests from tomorrow and I.want to get it out of the way.....

MotherOfCleo · 08/01/2013 20:44

Hi Thunder no worries, you should always have 2 lines on an OPK, you are waiting for the faint second line to turn darker than the control line, that shows your LH surge. The LH surge happens 12 - 48 hours before you OV, mine peaked on day 14 last month when the line suddenly got hugely dark then over the next 3 days it dropped back to a faint line. How does your second line look? Is it still darker than the control line?

MotherOfCleo · 08/01/2013 20:45

good luck fl0 Smile fx

Thunderthunderthundercats · 08/01/2013 20:49

Thank you moc. So every day the second line was super faint. Then on sun it was really dark, but mostly on the edge- darker than control definitely. Mon was similar, with a darker edge (marginally fainter than sun) and the rest about the same as control. Then today it's about the same as the control line. So a bit fainter than yest but definitely a much stronger line than before the weekend.

Am I being stoopid here?! Maybe I really am still in wtfville?

fl0 do it!

Mrsblackcar · 08/01/2013 20:52

Hi,

Also a newbie, really excited at the ttc idea.

I have been reading Mumsnet on and off for over a year, waiting for the right time to start trying!

Here hoping it goes well for everyone and we get our BFPs soon

Mrs BC

MotherOfCleo · 08/01/2013 21:03

no worries thunder well it sounds like it is gradually fading so it sounds right I guess, i think people vary and some get darker lines than others, it may be that your second line will always be quite dark, I think it has to be darker than the control to show the LH surge. Or maybe you are just uber fertile this month? Ive only been using OPKs for one month so im afraid my knowledge is pretty limited. Confused

MotherOfCleo · 08/01/2013 21:04

Hi MrsB

Blockette · 08/01/2013 23:12

Hi Mrs BC!

fl0b0t · 09/01/2013 08:45

Hi mrsbc and welcome!

I poas last night and got a bfn :(
haven't got any pms cramps etc but have got a stinking cold! Rubbish! Been ttc almost 18 months, but last 3 months I've had a proper cycle. Not too worried (and not too depressed this.month) but sick of waiting!

Not sure if I'm brave enough to delve into the confusing looking world of ovulation stuff! Opk? Lh? Lines?! All sounds very complicated......

MotherOfCleo · 09/01/2013 09:31

Hi fl0 so sorry for your BFN, could it still be too early to register? OPKs (Ovulation predictor kits) aren't that scary fl0 honestly. You basically pee on a stick for a few days, if the second line is darker than the first it is a good sign you are about to ovulate and you have lots of sex. It helped me as I just wanted to be sure that I ovulated and I wanted to know what the different cramps and twinges related too. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed and out of control, now I feel more centered and in control. also it was nice to see 2 lines on a pee stick for once Everyone is different though, do what makes you happy and helps you feel comfortable. Smile

Blockette · 09/01/2013 09:58

Sorry about your BFN fl0 :(

TBH I don't bother with the OV sticks as I found myself obsessing about how dark, the 2nd line should be, and when to start using them, and what time of day - (leave home at 7am, get back home at 8.30pm) do I do them at work, cause if the cleaner sees anything in the bin, he knows its me cause I'm the only girl on this floor, and our cleaner is the biggest gossip ever!

soooo I decided not to bother. Each to their own and all that. sometimes wish I did though ...

Thunderthunderthundercats · 09/01/2013 13:09

Yeah thanks moc, we shall see. I did start doing it slightly earlier in the day (bad scientist having too many variables) so it may not go back to totally disappearing- just as long as it gets fainter than the control as you say. I was just feeling gutted as I'd SO hoped that it meant I was mended, but I might be ok eh? Hopefully even fainter today.

block if you were tempted you could always try the cb ones as you can use them with fmu so it could fit in with the routine!

Sorry about the bfn fl0, glad you Re feeling ok about it though. I reckon you should give some opks a go, mostly because learning about when you ov might be really helpful. Perhaps you ovulate really late or early and are not dtding enough at the right time or something? I don't think I'll use them long term, just a few cycles to get an idea of what's going on.

Hi mrsbc, and welcome to the world of madness

RaspberrysAndIcecream · 09/01/2013 13:40

Hi MrsBc

Sorry about the bfn block and flo fingers crossed you're both out of limbo land soon.

Hope you're all having a nice Wednesday! Halfway to the weekend!!! Grin

(to the tune of olé olé olé olé)

One line, one line one line one line, one line, one line!

(I won't be singing if its one line in 2 weeks' time....)

RaspberrysAndIcecream · 09/01/2013 19:19

Oh hell!! Help please!!

I thought AF had arrived - TMI ALERT - tiny amount of red blood when wiped after going to the loo, really pissed off, thought oh crap, here we go again. Put a new liner in & got on with the afternoon. Manic afternoon, didn't get to go the loo again till I got home. Go to the loo & theres a tiny spot of brownish blood - more like cm than AF?!
What is going on??!! Hmm
