Old Fred here

Here we go Brookers, it's been a long year with lots of BFPs and newborn snuggles for the Brookers. We're just a sleigh-ride away from 2013, when the rest of us will get our get our 12 week scans (because of course we will all have BFPs under the christmas tree this year!)

So come all ye brookers, it's tinsel and baubels all the way!

well cleo its a bit long! we and dh (dp at the time) had a slight mishap which forced us to have the children conversation! turned out i wasnt pregnant but after that we left it up to fate about 5ish months later i was pregnant, but we mc'd then 2 months after preg again! but another mc. that was in june. we then got an appointment to see a specialist turns out i have very high natural killer cells which is why i now have that long list of meds to take! this was the first cycle we tried again, because of the wedding. do u have any dc's?
keep did they say you could come out in a rash?
thanks gen
sorry the old bag is messing you around solars

MotherOfCleo · 05/01/2013 19:40

ahh solars AF is a bitch huh!
Ahh cartoon thats a long and winding road youve been on Sad at least the docs have done something about it and FX youll have a bub soon! Nope no kids yet, trying for #1, a puppy who thinks shes a kid is the closest we have at the mo Smile

cartoontrickster · 05/01/2013 19:54

oh a puppy! I love dogs what breed is he/she?

MotherOfCleo · 05/01/2013 20:03

cartoontrickster · 05/01/2013 20:18

oh how lovely! we're hoping to get a dog one day.

MotherOfCleo · 06/01/2013 00:02

Its great! Hard work but so rewarding. I love her to bits, although she is incredibly frustrating and imfuriating at times, she is also incredibly loving and the house would be far too quiet without her. Grin

MotherOfCleo · 06/01/2013 00:03

ive got a couple of photos of her on my profile, then you can see for yourself the face I just cant stay mad at. Grin

cartoontrickster · 06/01/2013 08:19

MotherOfCleo · 06/01/2013 09:09

haha clever, knows how to get what she wants!

SweetieTime · 06/01/2013 16:14

Afternoon all

Cleo how old is your pup? There are a few of us Brookers that have pups, I have a 5 months old Cockapoo. We have just got back from a very muddy walk. She is very challenging at the moment as she is SO excited by everything, she wants to jump up, or on, everyone or thing. It is a bit of a nightmare when she is so dirty. I am hoping she will calm down and all 4 paws will remain on the ground I love her to bits but I had forgotten how hard the puppy phase is.

cartoon can I ask what tests they did to determine you have killer cells? I am having a bit of a mental today about "what if...." scenarios. I am totally over thinking I know but I can not help it. I am so close now to having a donor cycle I want to make sure everything is in order. I have never been tested for killer cells or sticky blood and am just driving myself & DH mad thinking that I will get a BFP only to then MC because of something else. I don't know if to ask the clinic of they can do the tests for my piece of mind. I am throwing so much money at this the cost of those tests won't make much difference. It is very unlikely we will be able to do another fresh cycle if this is unsuccessful, both emotionally & financially, that this is our only change. Sorry for a bit of an epic post but it is all going on in my head today.

Sparks I had been meaning to ask if you are showing much yet?

keep come and cheer us up with tales of drinking cocktails by the beach or something else glam you are getting up to!!! When is your Dsis due out to visit? Did you decided how to deal with her diffedness?

Right must get back to checking out home & car insurance prices - the joys of life laundry!!! Only upside is I get to listen to the Jake Budd album while doing so, loving a bit of Jake Wink

MotherOfCleo · 06/01/2013 17:11

Hi sweetie she is 16 month of stubborn willfullness, I think 5 or 6 months is when they hit teenage, ours got so naughty at that age, testing all the boundrys....little minx!
She is much better than she was, a lot calmer but still has her moments, for example if someone rings the doorbell it is pretty much the most exciting thing to have happened in her life, she whines, jumps, generally excitment gets the better of her. She still jumps up a bit if people stop to stroke her on walks but it is less than it used to be, she soon learnt that I ignore her till all four feet are firmly on the floor. On the plus side a puppy is certainly good practice for a baby Grin

cartoontrickster · 06/01/2013 17:42

sweetie you really mustn't torture yourself like this. but I can understand that you would want to check everything.
I believe that its a very specialist thing and not all doctors believe in it. so you may need to go to a different clinic if you want them done? check out the miscarriage clinics website thats Mr s's site. I think we spent about 800ish for all the tests but you may not need to have all if them. from my point of view it was very easy its all just blood tests.
I'm sorry that you are feeling this way at the moment, but I know I would be exactly the same. its understandable.

keepitgoing · 07/01/2013 05:26

Oh sweetie, big hugs. I also had a minor freak out a couple of weeks ago that if I ever do get pg I'll be a recurrent miscarrier as well. Dh told me to shut it. But if you have the money and time then those tests could put you at ease.

I am glamorously doing language lessons each day now, sorry! :-)

My sister comes out in just under 2 weeks. I still have no ideas how I'll handle it. I am focusing on seeing my little niece, otherwise I'd be dreading it. I'm thinking I'll ask the minimum of questions, then try and ignore it and talk about other things, how does that sound...? I do NOT want to discuss my treatment, though am sure she'll ask.

solars, hope AF showed, or your bfp, but bfp you'd've told us.

keepitgoing · 07/01/2013 05:28

Oh and I've spent much of the weekend inside trying to cool off to get this bastard rash down. No more drugs this cycle, other than trigger, so hope it'll go down in the next couple of days.

SweetieTime · 07/01/2013 07:32

news on the grads thread, you might want to pop over Wink Wink Wink

Withalittlesparkle · 07/01/2013 08:29

I'm such a bad brooker and I havent posted anything for days!!!

So I'm going to try and name check the most recent posts and apologies profusely if Ive missed anyone/anything!!

Sweetie So glad your womb lining has improved, things are certainly moving in the right direction!!! I know its easier said than done but you need to try not worry about all the variables, and the what ifs!! you could send yourself dippy!!!

Cleo TTC certainly is tricky, but I think most of us will agree with each cycle we learn to understand our bodies a little better, little consulation for that cycle not ending in a baby, but once you have the basics sussed it makes things a lot easier!! oh and yay for you being another animal lover!! I'm personally a cat person, simply because we;re both at work all day, so thought cats would fit in to our lives a bit better!! oh and Cleos such a wicked name, one of our kitties was a Cleo until it literally dropped a bollock!!

Keep I think thats a perfect plan, hopefully you sister will be sensitive enough not to force the topic!!! if she asks about your treatment just tell her theres nothing to report and then change the topic.

Face How are you feeling? p.s I shall be calling you face for the foreseeable future. I dont handle change well!!!

Nothing new to report from me, although I hit the 16 week mark on Friday. where the hell did those last few months go? I cant honestly say whether I'm showing or wether its just turkey weight!! Most days I just feel fat to be honest!!! MS starting to calm down now though so thats a nice bonus to proceedings!!!

Even though Im not posting all that often Im still brooking for each and everyone of you!!!

Solars · 07/01/2013 09:07

Where has all that time got to Sparkes?

Keep if sis asks about treatment just say you don't want to talk about it. I think it's fine you ask the minimum questions, that's what I've tried to do but even that is still very hard for me for fear of breaking down in tears I'm sure she'd understand. I too focus on the niece & nephew. How long is she there for?

Sweetie hope you've stopped worrying about the ifs and buts, i know where you're coming from but one step at a time, lovely.

AF still hasn't arrived, I have been spotting since Friday, starting to get a little worried about it but DH keeps assuring me it will turn up.

I have a busy day ahead of me but will try and catch up later.

keepitgoing · 07/01/2013 09:20

2 weeks, solars... I think I'll be here a lot...
Is there no no no chance of poas? I know you didn't swi, but could you have ov'd later and...? Are you waiting AF so you can sort treatment?

16 weeks is just awesome, sparkly hypocrite, changing your name then getting at face ;) has face popped to the grads yet, or staying here a while. Will you have an early scan?

cartoontrickster · 07/01/2013 10:03

keep how's the rash? I haven't been over there yet, I'm being extra careful this time. I don't want to get too excited too soon just incase. ill only be 4wks tomorrow.
sparks neither do I! haha I'm finding my new surname very strange! I changed my name here to incorporate it. but face is still fine. glad ur feeling better. I can't believe ur 16wks already! are you going to find out the sex?
I have a 7wk scan booked on the 30th. as yet I don't feel any different. maybe very slight sensitivity of the nip. I have had a few tummy cramps though Sad

NewYearNewBoo · 07/01/2013 10:23

Face yep me too don't worry about the cramps, they are normal unless they become very painful, it is just your bod getting ready to stretch for the baby :) yay for the early scan, I had one and it was amazingly reassuring!

Sparks 16 weeks already :) have you had your 16 week check yet? You should get to hear the hb, I was very definitely showing by then, but after 3 pregnancies my stomach has just given up

Solars brooking for AF to show up, or for you to poas Grin

MotherOfCleo · 07/01/2013 10:44

sparkle you made me lol with the dropping a bollock remark Grin. I liked Cleo for ages even possibly for a child OH hated it so decided it was best used on the dog lol. We have a cat too called Hogan, he's my baby too, just less keen on snuggles.

I usually have a big downer on the day of AF when I accept that I am not preggo, usually I knew that all along then I am back to the belief that next month will be THE month I get my BFP.....thinking about it I may be slightly unhinged with my complete confidence Hmm

cartoontrickster · 07/01/2013 10:59

no cleo don't under estimate the power of positive thinking! I told dh while we were in cornwall that I was pregnant I was convinced and had been convinced that this cycle would be the one because of how lovely it would be to have a honeymoon baby. anyway what I'm saying is that it worked for me so I don't think it's a bad thing to tell yourself that this month you will be pregnant and really your a brooker now and that's what we do! do u opk?

cartoontrickster · 07/01/2013 11:13

just heard from the clinic got my first intralipid drip thingy tomorrow.

MotherOfCleo · 07/01/2013 11:19

Ohhh exciting cartoon a honeymoon baby is lovely! Smile So nice to think that you had the happiest day of your life which was part of what made your BFP. Such amazing news! Grin
Started OPKing last month, really helped me understand my body, its a bit early to start this month yet as I'm on CD5, although a few people have OVd early after xmas so I might start on day 8 instead of 10, just so I don't miss it.
