I really hope I haven't missed someone else starting this!

p.s Has anyone experienced facial hair growth in pregnancy? Hmm

vallinnapod · 07/07/2013 19:24

Ginger all my (head hair) fell out during pregnancy Confused For my entire second trimester it was like a yeti had shed in the bath. I expected everyone I spoke to (midwife, hair dresser etc) to tell me how normal it was but they all just looked Shock. Thankfully it stopped in my third trimester. It then all shed again about 3 months after I gave birth for another 3 months. At least I know it grows back. Pretty vanity destroying shocking at the time.

Lucky enjoy your holiday. I love Cornwall. What a fabulous week for it.

Juicy I have a steak waiting to BBQ as U type!

gingernutdreams · 07/07/2013 21:01

Vall ooh no! That doesn't sound good! Good job it wasn't permanent ey? But I seem to have the opposite problem.. I have developed some soft hairs on my chin... I'm hoping it will disappear once the little one arrives...

Hoophopes · 07/07/2013 21:28

ginger I had facial hair when on the Ivf meds until 12 weeks. Did go when off the steroids etc.

JuicyFatSteak · 07/07/2013 22:40

TMI Cyclogest question. Shoved one up the front this morning but 15 mins later desperate for a bowel movement. I know they take at least 20 mins to absorb. Plus lots of wax in the bowl.

Do I shove another up? Clinic not open for another hour and they are unlikely to get back to me for several hours after leaving a message. Argh!!

OP posts:
JuicyFatSteak · 08/07/2013 10:17

Vall, there's always blobs of pessary in the bog after a poo. Don't worry about it. What needs to be absorbed gets absorbed. When I shoved one up this morning my finger came out entirely covered in white goo and you wonder how much of the stuff is actually doing its job Smile

vallinnapod · 08/07/2013 10:43

Thanks Juicy, was only worried this time as it had only been up there for such a short period of time.

OP posts:
JuicyFatSteak · 08/07/2013 13:05

Wasn't it Lucky who said pessaries are simply supplementary anyway? In other words, whatever is ejected is probably not needed? Smile

vallinnapod · 08/07/2013 20:22

I realise I am about to fly in the face of the DSB motto of this site but I need a bit of a reality check.

I am not one of life's optimists yet I really feel that this FET has worked. I
It feels so different to my failed one. Lots of crampy type feelings but nothing more than that. I know anything I am feeling right now is artificial hormone induced. It is not like I can even compare it to how I felt with my first pregnancy as it was symptom free throughout.

I am scared I am setting myself up for a huge disappointment on Saturday.

OP posts:
CaipirinhasAllRound · 08/07/2013 20:30

Vall, the result will be what it is on Saturday whether you are optimistic or not, so what's the harm in thinking positively! Even if you convince yourself it's bad news you'd still be massively disappointed with a bfn and you'll have been miserable this week too, so believe it's worked
Fingers crossed for fantastic news x

gingernutdreams · 08/07/2013 21:43

Vall, I second what Caip says. Keeping fingers and toes crossed for you sweetie.

So, I had my 8 week scan today, and joy of joys, we saw the little bean who has more than doubled in size and seems to have a lovely strong heartbeat. Grin They dated my pregnancy at 8 weeks and 4 days, and were happy with everything they were seeing on the screen. They also showed us different views, pointed out the developing brain, the arm and leg buds and we had a 3d view too, which was fab! I have been given 3 pics, to add to the pic of my 5 day blasto and our 6 week scan photo which barely looks like anything, so I have quite an album now! Grin Now, I want to tell everyone, but we are waiting till I am 12 weeks, so need to keep this secret a little longer. I have left a message with the midwife to call me to arrange an appointment and will also need to arrange the 12 week scan. I am also carrying on with all my meds till 12 weeks, but being weaned off the prednisolone slowly. Anyway, enough about me...

Waves to all you lovely ladies.

JuicyFatSteak · 08/07/2013 22:08

Aw, that's super news, Ginger, I can hear your relief and excitement Thanks

Vall, nowt wrong with a little positivity. Cramps and twinges are very promising and nothing is going to stop you hoping 7 dreaming 'til you're fit to burst this week. Better to spend the days dreaming of your baby than sinking into despair. There's a time for sadness if this doesn't work out but right now is not the time.

MiniH · 09/07/2013 08:38

ginger congrats, such lovely news. You deserve this happiness - enjoy! As for hair, yup, exactly same facial hair until about 12 weeks. I then did lose loads of head hair in second and third trimester but think that was low iron related.

val optimism is good and may even help as you are less stressed.

Xx

vallinnapod · 09/07/2013 10:45

Great news Caip. I will keep my fingers crossed that they offer you that job!

Vall how interesting to have a visual record even from the day of EC! I hope you are feeling better and more positive now.

Thanks all for the congrats and for sharing your similar experiences re the facial hair.. I was concerned but now, not so much.

I will post my pics on here once I have scanned them in, and work out how to do that...
