DD 9 months until we did it doggy style instead of the missionary that is recommended for ttc, one go at doggy style and I got preg. Again for the baby I mc one go at doggy style and again for my ds one go at doggy style as you can tell I can highly recommend doggy style!

I think dd was about a year (although not totally planned, we weren't using any contraception in that time)
I had a MC on the new years eve of 2002 and then became pg in the January.
I was 20 at the time.

This pg was just one month and I'm now 23.

I read somewhere that if you take longer to conceive it's more likely to be a boy. There was some semi-scientific explanation to it too.

GDG · 18/04/2006 20:23

All 3 boys were conceived at first time of trying (hence small age gaps - I expected it to take at least a few months!)

And I'm just doing a study atm on IVF and it's heartbreaking Sad

Posey · 18/04/2006 20:27

Dd was one contraceptive-free session Grin
Miscarried one, but that time it took about 3 months.
Ds was also around 3 months.

But my sis took around 7 years to conceive her ds, then just one month for her 2nd.

longwaytogo · 18/04/2006 20:30

dd1 first month
dd2 first month
dd3 5 years
ds Shock 30 seconds when dd was only 5 months old.

One month

blueteddy · 18/04/2006 20:55

DS1 - one night, after taking my mini pill 5 hours late!
DS2 - Conceived while on the combination pill (think my IBS messed it up) during a month that we only had sex once!
DH was sent for a vasectomy as soon as DS2 was born!

LucyJones · 18/04/2006 21:02

First time - 3 months
Second time - 2 months

Upsadaisy · 18/04/2006 21:03

About 2 years with first and a year with second

Bobley · 18/04/2006 21:26

We were trying for 16 months.

We went to our GP after 12 months and we had just had the relevant tests done and got a letter through the post for an appointment to see a fertility specialists when I fell pregnant!

Its horrible getting negative pregnancy tests each month but tell her not to panic and even really healthy couples can take over 2 years to concieve.

pussycatmomma · 18/04/2006 21:39

so far 4 months of "really serious trying" and total of 16months non-contraception.
Sad
it doesnt get any easier........

nooka · 18/04/2006 22:03

We conceived ds within a month of deciding to try (we did have a fairly active couple of weeks!). dd was a complete accident, as I had only just finished breastfeeding ds, and thought that I wasn't fertile yet. I was 27 when I conceieved ds and 28 whn I conceived dd.
