LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 15/10/2012 17:58

We're ttc #2 in dec and I know it's a really silly thing to get excited about, but just started taking folic acid and feeling very excited about it!

Sorry for the pointless thread.

Hey GuyMartinsSideburns and everyone else!

I'm sure that if you've managed to lose baby weight after 2 pregnancies, you'll be able to do it again. I've never been thin, but friends that are seem to go back down without any problems.

I totally get the idea of pushing your luck, but I think if you had a normalish labour 2nd time round it's a good sign for the 3rd one. I think first labours are meant to be the slowest and most tricky and after them your body gets an idea of what to do. Though I personally have no idea as I ended up with 2cs... and am a bit worried about how my body would cope with another one.

It's funny to be thinking about going back to the baby stage again. I'm at the point where I can leave the house without a bag (no one in nappies, everyone eats food you can easily buy) and everyone sleeps through the night. Sometimes I think I must be crazy for wanting to do it all again...Grin

Also feeling guilty about starting a new job and then planning to get pregnant. I'm stressing about telling my bosses and I'm not even pregnant yet. Confused It's funny how half of my brain worries that I'll totally struggle to get pregnant again, and the other half worries I'll get pregnant straight away. But I'm one of those people who worries about everything. Blush

GuyMartinsSideburns · 09/01/2013 15:58

moon - thank you, Im glad you see where Im coming from! I totally get you where you say you now dont need to be going out without a bag full of nappies and what have you, and giving up the wonderful full-nights-sleep we now get.... Im telling myself all that doesnt last so long does it...

Im also a worrier, doesnt help on those nights when you cant get off to sleep does it! With my first it took a couple of months to fall pregnant and my second just the one cycle and it happened. However I was 24 and 26 then, Im 31 this year so interested to see how/if/when it happens.

I think Im in better shape this time round though and Im hoping that'd help.

I think Im more on the 'lets do it' side, however theres still a little part of me thats going 'but are you sure?'..........

BourbonsandTea · 09/01/2013 17:53

Well this is my last Waiting to TTC post ? I may pop back now and then but I?ll be a fully fledged TTC-er! I?m nervous about having my implant out tomorrow. I stupidly watched a video on youtube ? ouch! Also wondering how I can hide the scar/bruising from DH as I promised I wouldn't tell him exactly when it was coming out. He?s worried about feeling the pressure of TTC so there will be no mention of ovulation, temperature or mucus in this house. It?s probably for the best ?haha.

Just wanted to say it?s been great to have a thread to hang out on where I could offload all my worries and excitement about planning to TTC. Thanks, especially, to Leafmould for keeping the list updated. I hope you manage to get everything in order ready to TTC in May.

Congratulations on the new job Winterpansy I?m glad you managed to find something that?s good for you and so quickly too!

Hi Loveyou I can?t imagine what it must be like to have morning sickness as well as working and having a toddler too ? hopefully I?ll find out soon.. Or rather I hope I get pregnant soon but have no morning sickness and no tiredness. It?s something that I worry about as last time I suffered with nausea so bad I had to quit working (I worked somewhere I had to serve food and drink, late at night). Best of Luck for the 12 week scan!

Good Luck to you all! I promise to come back and let you know WHEN (positive thinking) I get my BFP Grin

Waiting2wait2wait · 09/01/2013 18:05

Thanks for updating the list :) Its nice to see some BFP updates appearing, fingers crossed for everyone when the time comes!

As daft as it sounds, I am over the moon it is now 2013 so I can legitimately hope for a BFP this year (more likely next as presuming Nov & Dec will be successful is a bit hopeful but fingers crossed :)).

How is everyone finding the new year so far?

Sorelip · 09/01/2013 22:21

I'll be going to the TTCing thread because it turns out I only have CIN 1! DH is very broody, and AF arrived yesterday so hopefully this cycle is the one.

Good luck to everyone!

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 10/01/2013 09:27

Hello Sorelip, lovely to see you again. Have you thought about popping over to the ttc#2 thread? London and I are on it - if you fancy seeing a couple of 'old' faces.

Lots of luck - may your ttc journey be a smooth and short one.

batfish · 10/01/2013 12:41

Hi all, sorry to keep disappearing for ages, hope you are well. Exciting that some people are no longer waiting!

Unfortunately my time has been postponed - I have just been diagnosed with an overactive thyroid and one of the potential treatments is a radioactive tablet which would mean that I wouldn't be allowed to get pregnant for 6 months after taking it. The earliest I will be taking that is March so the earliest we will be TTC is September, probably more likely later as my doctor has said that I have to get it all under control before trying. Maybe even next year but hopefully won't have to wait that long.

I'm not feeling broody really so I'm not massively disappointed but still am a bit as have been thinking that March was when it was going to be and now who knows. Just hoping that my new 'illness' doesn't affect my fertility as it can do and can also cause you to have a higher chance of miscarriage so both of those reasons are definitely why I need to get it all sorted before TTC.

So whoever is keeping the list (sorry I forgot who) please change me to November and I will hope I am OK by then!

lollydollydrop · 10/01/2013 21:33

Hellooo,

Took the liberty of adding myself the the most recent list! I'm 27 (and a half!) and have been active on Baby Names board since I was 24, now lurking here and waiting to TTC! Not for ages though as I'm currently doing my masters and then saving to get married in June 2015! I would be interested in where you lovelies are from (I'm in Manchester)

AnnoyedAtWork · 12/01/2013 10:15

Hello everyone.

I can't seem to imagine a time when work and finances will allow us to have a baby without being terribly time and money poor. It's really depressing.

I think we could afford to ttc in sep 2014 (ie just about afford childcare from sep 2015) but when baby arrived we would then sacrifice all the (hopefully) increased pay and better standard of living we are working so hard to achieve.

But I really want to have another one before I am 30 (2016) as dd is almost 8 now.

Leafmould · 13/01/2013 15:39

Hi everyone,

Just popping back for a quick hello.

Had some good news yesterday- both dd's namesakes had baby announcements, one had her 3rd child, and the other announced her pregnancy. I am so pleased for them both, and am happy that I am not at all Envy . But it has made the kids even more baby mad!

I have taken a few initial steps to a total house revamp, but it is going to be mega hard work, so I am going to try and focus on that for the next 3 months, and hopefully stay on track for may!

I will still come on and say hello every now and again, and have a look at the list.
Good luck to January starters!

And thank you for all the lovely messages you left me.

KateBeckett · 13/01/2013 18:56

Nice to see you back leaf :) Are you still around on MN, or having a proper break whilst you sort yourself out?

Thank you for taking over the list lolly :) (I am 26 and in Leeds btw!)

DFil's funeral is on Thursday, I am currently home alone as DP is at his DMs helping with the arrangements (we live about an hour and a half away) plus he is the executor of the will so will be back and forth after the funeral to sort things with the solicitor.

It has been a very hard week or so, as DP went last Monday. My DM came to visit mid-week so I haven't been totally alone, and I went over to see DP and MiL this weekend.

Things are looking positive on the TTC front though - originally DP wanted to wait until we both had proper permanent jobs, but after a conversation this weekend we have decided that there is no point worrying about him finding a full-time permanent job, as he will be the one to stay at home, so he might as well just keep his current job and go part-time. SO, now I just need to get a permanent job... We might actually wait until September though as I don't want to get a permanent job, then get pregnant before I even start! At least if we start trying in Sept, I will have a few months at my new school before announcing my BFP ;) Of course, if I managed to get a permanent job in my current school I wouldn't feel so guilty about TTC earlier... fingers crossed !!

waves hello to all the new names on this thread btw!

lollydollydrop · 13/01/2013 20:03

Ok girls I tried to update the list :) I updated people's dates and the BFP'S are still there (YAY!) At the top are the ladies who have decided to move forward their TTC date to Now (don't know whether that means they have now 'graduated' from this group and belong in a TTC thread?!) Change anything you see fit.

Fairypants · 14/01/2013 13:12

Hey all,
Really glad to see I'm not totally weird to be this excited about planning ttc#3 in April!
Feeling somewhat out of my depth as I've never planned a baby before and dd's are 14 and 10 so things have changed somewhat. I get excited just to be taking folic acid each day but also nervous as I know it's likely to be so much harder this time round (I'm 35) both in terms of being pg and getting pg.
It's good to know there are others in the same boat.

moonblues · 14/01/2013 14:40

Hey everyone.

Thanks for adding me to the list lolly. Welcome to the thread fairy

Sorry to hear about your FIL Kate

Hope all the organising is going well leaf, a total house revamp sounds exciting.

Glad to hear about your good news about CIN1 Sorelip, that must be such a relief. Good luck to everyone who's graduated to the TTC thread. :)

We through caution to the wind this weekend Blush, but I think's it's too early in the month for anything to have stuck. Also DH seems to be having second thoughts. The DCs were slightly exuberant going to bed and he said 'I can't believe we're thinking of having another one...' So think we're going to go back to waiting til March/April - which would be financially more sensible.
I'm finding it tricky that now we've decided to have another one (me definitely/DH intermittently Confused) not to just go for it now...

How is everyone else coping with the waiting?

Jackiewackytiddler · 15/01/2013 18:54

Hello all

Hubby and I have decided that we will start ttc after Christmas this year. I'll be 30 in November and will be in my final year of my (part time) degree so we need to wait until then. We also need to buy a bigger home so many things to do! I just feel very impatient-I just want to get on with it but know that there's debts to be paid, money to be saved and a dissertation to be written between now and then!

I have no idea how I'm going to be able to wait that long! Smile

Fairypants · 15/01/2013 20:04

I'm not finding the wait too bad which is weird fo me as I'm usually soo impatient. I think I'm just glad it's actually on the cards (I didn't think DH would ever agree). I'm obsessing a lot but OK with waiting so far. Of course I can't promise I wouldn't try to push it forward if I thought he might change his mind! Moonblues-It sounds like you aren't sure he'll still be up for it when the time comes and I would probably be trying to catch him when he's in the mood if i was in that position. IYKWIM ;)

winterpansy · 17/01/2013 14:55

Hey everyone!
How are we all doing? I'm very excited about ttc in a few weeks time. The time has flown in since this thread was started and now all I can think about it is getting a BFP! My new job (pt and mostly working from home) will be very kid friendly so I plan to go back to work earlier as to not cause them too much disruption...not that I'm getting ahead of myself of course!

How is the waiting going for everyone?

Thanks for updating the list lolly!

Sorry about your FIL kate - hope things are going as well as they can at the minute x

moominlike · 17/01/2013 18:27

Hi everyone, wow it's getting busy in our lil waiting room!

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas :) spent mine in 30 degree sunshine so coming home to the cold was a bit of a shocker (and then the snow this week just to really rub it in)!

So sorry to hear your sad news Kate, hope you and your family are doing ok, well as ok as you can be.

Hi and congratualtions amiready - lovely news, and superquick!

Really pleased winterpansy about your job news, especially after everything you've been through. New year, new beginnings :)

Glad things turned out ok with your colposcopy Sorelip, I had to have one too last year (followed by some treatment) and I know how worrying all that can be!

Hope all the sorting out of stuff goes well leaf, thank you for being the list queen and hopefully will see you back here when you get a mo!

Nice to hear from you Love and I hope the morning sickness eases soon! Hopefully the next few weeks waiting for the scan will fly by for you.

Good luck to all the January TTCers - exciting times! I must admit I haven't really thought about it much what with Christmas and going away. Now we are househunting though it is on my mind again (looking for a nice family home) and I can't help but grin at the thought of what 2013 will hopefully bring!

winterpansy · 17/01/2013 22:15

Thanks moomin - yes, a new start was sorely needed and that's what I've got and I'm very thankful for it.

Ohh..househunting is very exciting! We've been in our own house for 3 years now (rented for 8 before that) and I still adore it. There is lots of work to do but it's such a great wee family home and I'm so glad we got it before having DS. It's gonna be an exciting year for you indeed!

paintedcat · 18/01/2013 11:26

Hello again everyone! I disappeared for a while when we were moving house but I'm back waiting to ttc now. I can't believe I missed the first bfp's, congratulations!

I'm finding waiting harder some days than others. The other day I was ridiculously broody. It doesn't help that a friend is seven and a half months pregnant and so everyone's talking babies constantly.

Good luck with househunting moomin!

Fairypants · 18/01/2013 12:00

How exciting moomin and paintedcat - new houses ready for ttc! We just moved last year (first house to get together as I moved into his before) and it is such a nice feeling to look in the 'spare room' and wonder what we will decorate it like etc. I'm really enjoying all the possibility atm.

Fairypants · 18/01/2013 12:21

Btw- does anyone else have a ridiculous urge to buy something related such as ov tests (to get to know cycle) or unnecessary extra vitamins or baby name book (???) or whatever?
Is it just my shopaholic tendencies coming out?

moominlike · 18/01/2013 20:05

Yes very excited to be taking the next step to ttc (we are going to start trying as soon as we have a place!)... just hope we can find what we want! Also trying to be sensible with the budget given future maternity leave, part time working, childcare - eeek! Not always good at the being sensible thing!

I must admit I find the whole financial side of having children a bit daunting - how on earth do people manage?! Am torn between getting the minimum we need space wise so its affordable and we don't have to struggle, or stretching that bit further now to get that perfect forever home. Any thoughts?!

Hi Fairypants (great name!) and no you're not alone... I bought vits/frolic acid the last time I had such an urge! Even though I've got ages till we ttc. I'm sure if I was off the pill I'd also be having a go at tracking my cycle!

SparklyandHappyMe2013 · 18/01/2013 20:14

Hey Ladies, can I hop on to the waiting list. DH & I are hoping to start TTC no 3 this month. AF started today. I've already started taking Folic Acid. I have 2 DD's already. DD1 will be 8 in March & DD2 turned 1, 3 days before Xmas!

Fairypants · 19/01/2013 12:17

Hey Sparkley, not long for you to wait then- I'm looking forward to being able to say 'this month'. :) I'll also be going for #3 but with much bigger gap. I don't think I was up for dtd on a regular basis when dd2 was just 1, that's impressive :)
Moomin - I love when autocorrect puts frolic acid, it seems appropriate! The financials just get sorted some way or another. I would probably not put too much pressure on yourself financially before ttc as babies are expensive and financial pressure + lack if sleep = horrible time.
I stopped pill at Xmas and started folic acid then to give me a chance to get hormones sorted in time for ttc in April. I don't really need and more pg vitamins than that and possibly just figuring out when af is due is the only reasonable cycle related thing but every now and then I feel like I want to be doing something in that direction. DH actually suggested I buy a babygrow or something but that would be daft at this point.
