Those waiting to ttc... (slightly pointless thread)

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 15/10/2012 17:58

We're ttc #2 in dec and I know it's a really silly thing to get excited about, but just started taking folic acid and feeling very excited about it!

Sorry for the pointless thread.

OP posts:
winterpansy · 04/12/2012 20:29

Oh, do stay on this thread too all you ttc-ers. We need good news of BFPs to keep us going through the torturous wait!

Onemoreforgoodmeasure · 04/12/2012 21:09

(I do not normally do soooo many typos!) Xmas Blush

somethingcool · 04/12/2012 21:34

Hi there all, we're going to start trying in the new year Xmas Smile defo getting excited already and prematurely researching namesHmm daft i know!
Had a miscarriage in feb last year and has taken me this long to contemplate it all again. Fingers crossed for this one - going to try and stay chilled about it.

love to all x

Mythreeknights · 05/12/2012 11:17

Hi everyone...I just posted on the 'pountless' thread by mistake...think I belong here more than there as we're still not really TTCing...anyhow, I just wanted to ask if anyone has had a BFP on this thread yet? And if not, I'm willing that errant stork to pay lots of us a visit this month!
xx

Mythreeknights · 05/12/2012 11:19

PS Petitfromage (great name btw!) I hope coil removal went well...mine had to be surgically removed under a GA as it 'migrated' north...the bonus being half a day relaxing in a hospital bed reading magazines before the op...felt like some real ME time. (Oh the irony).

TigerseyeMum · 05/12/2012 12:18

Afternoon. Does ovulating cause period pain type cramps on one side and make you feel sick?

I think a few years ago when I came off the pill I had intense pain that first time. Dunno if it's endo pain though.

Feel alternately frisky and barfy!

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 05/12/2012 12:54

Delurking to quickly wave at Tigerseye and say "sounds like possible ovulation pain to me."

TigerseyeMum · 05/12/2012 12:59

I'm only on because my patient hasn't turned up and I'm stuck in a room alone feeling barfy!

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 05/12/2012 13:34

Hi slightly pointless ones, just an FYI for when you are ttc the ttc now thread has now had my embarrassing spelling errors corrected so is no longer pountless and is no the slightly pointless ones ttc now (sort of) thread..good job because I was starting to say "pountless" in real life!

7dpo here, no symptoms and still ages until I can test!

OP posts:
literaryone · 05/12/2012 14:33

That's a pountless correction! It will always be the pountless thread in our hearts. Wink

I have to go to the ob-gyn tomorrow. Three-months-after-pregnancy-loss check up. Wish me a good appointment. I like her as a doctor -- no-nonsense, very efficient and very experienced but when she needed to be kind and listen and give good advice, she did that perfectly as well.

I do want to talk about TTC in two or three months (provided my thyroid rights itself by then). In the last week or ten days, I've managed to move from just grieving and feeling like things couldn't possibly go right in a pregnancy for me to feeling more confident which in this case just means, "Well, they didn't find anything specifically wrong after doing all the necessary tests, so maybe this was just an aberration, and no future pregnancy will be easy or even necessarily successful, but I have good doctors and they've said they'll monitor me very closely if I'm ever pregnant again, so why not try again?" The only question mark in my head is a small one she suggested we could do the karyotyping test (for the husband and me) if we wanted to and we haven't yet. From what I understand, even if there's any abnormality showing up, the practice is just to try again, nothing else. And since our baby appeared to be physically normal and lived till the 19th week, she didn't seem to feel it was important. We might do the test anyway.

It's a bit of a rush of blood to the head just feeling that maybe, just maybe, things could go right the next time round (assuming there's a next time and TTC is successful). Maybe I was subconsciously waiting for the three-month mark to make place next to the mourning for some hope and some teeny bit of courage.

So let's hope she feels everything is okay, karyotyping tests come back okay, and TTC soon is a good idea.

PS: In case you're wondering, I live in a country where most hospitals are private and we pay for private healthcare, so choosing to do a test or a procedure is entirely down to the patient's choice and bank balance.

Hi literary sending you good wishes and hope everything goes well for you tomorrow...keep strong we're all here for you anytime you want to. I've had a mc before so can't even begin to imagine what you experienced, but everyday that passes you'll get stronger and stronger and when you do one day decide to ttc again, it'll be the right time for you both. Keep strong.

P.s I miss being pountless.

Hope everything goes ok literaryone

How is everyone prepping for the festive season? Will be the first Christmas I'll be trying to avoid too much alcohol!

Leafmould · 05/12/2012 20:36

Hello loveyouforevermybaby. I love hearing how many dpo you are, and am really looking forward to your bfp, and general progress. It is encouraging for those of us still waiting to see that waiting doesn't just mean putting it off, and that you ttcers, who had to wait like we are, are at that exciting stage already! And it'll not be long before it's our turn. So pleeeease keep posting! Otherwise we'll be pountless!

Leafmould · 05/12/2012 20:40

Hi something cool, I got very cool today round my feet. The kids are all very excited about the snow, but my feet froze! I have had to get out my boot, gloves and hat drying system, and hunt out the wooly socks.

But yes, we have done a bit of present shopping today. I am planning to get quite a lot of stuff online over the next week, so it's more food shopping to think about now. Just trying to pick things up bit by bit really. Have put the kids off decorating the house till 15th!

Still planning on stocking up on booze though!

Leafmould · 05/12/2012 20:42

Literaryone, I do hope your appointment goes well tomorrow, and very glad you feel good about your doctor. So important.

Let us know how it goes.

Onemoreforgoodmeasure · 06/12/2012 10:11

Just checking in, agree with the general opinion that it's good to hear about dpo's and moving forward, and also missing it being called the pountless thread!

Hope your appointment goes well Literary. I thought I'd add that I'm waiting for results from the karyotyping. I have to say that as I'm not paying for it I agreed to it but I'm not sure I would think it was worth it as a one off. Even if these pregnancy turned out to have had a genetic abnormality it doesn't mean the next one will. 3 months sounds like a good marker if it suits you but do take it easy on yourself. I was so sorry to read what happened to you.

winterpansy · 06/12/2012 11:18

Hope all goes excellently today literary

Thanks for the updated list leaf

I'm freaking out a bit right now..the meeting is taking place at the minute which will decide my job fate and therefore ttc fate. Arrrrggg! I hate limbo. But at least I will know soon.

literaryone · 06/12/2012 11:18

Thanks, ladies. It's lovely knowing you're rooting for us. :) The doctor's office called this morning to say that she was busy with an emergency case in the labour room and would see me on Saturday morning instead.

Thanks for adding me to the list, Leafmould! Not sure we'll be trying in January, February or March is more like it, and I'll be 31 by the time we try. But I'm waiting to see what tests and doctor say.

BridgetandtheHairyBaubles · 06/12/2012 11:49

Oh gosh winterpansy, just popped in to wish you good luck for today...and it's happening now!!

I bet you feel sick to your stomach - fingers, toes and everything else crossed for you.

BridgetandtheHairyBaubles · 06/12/2012 11:51

What's the verdict on my festive name-change? Do you just think it will make everyone think of hairy bollocks? Confused

LondonSuperTrooper · 06/12/2012 11:55

Hi all,
I've been AWOL as I've been busy with our house purchase. Unfortunately this is now not proceeding as planned as the vendor has sadly passed away rather unexpectedly.

So, I'm going TTC now and have joined the other graduates of this thread Smile

I'm sure that I will bump into you on the other thread.

All the best ladies!

literaryone · 06/12/2012 12:44

winterpansy, on pins waiting along with you! Hope they let you know soon.

Bridget, laughing at your new festive handle! A mite disturbing, picturing those on a Christmas tree.

BridgetandtheHairyBaubles · 06/12/2012 14:09

Hee, Hee, my hairy baubles are starting to grow on me.......(not literally of course Wink)
