For those of us out of the July game there are not many places to hide so I thought I'd start a new August thread to give us all some positive vibes!

Cycle 3 - BFP August 6th

She feel preg when we were at uni and her kids are now 15 and 8!

Can I ask if you are all drinking alcohol while ttc?

hi woody I don't give up drinking before the 2ww - i don't drink much..only the occasional weekend a few glasses of wine. I try and avoid in the 2ww but i am going out tonight and will have a glass of vino. Cannot put my life on hold.

newbie I won't be adding myself to the list yet, testing next Friday 27th.
If AF arrives I'll update the list :(

Woody I find it's best not to put your life on hold, this is just personal preference as I find it gets too pressured and I think it actually effects the swimmers more then the egg but I have given up before and no joy, if you are worried about mc, I drank like a trouper up to about 8 wks with dd as I didn't know and she is fine and didn't last time as you don't really go out when you have dc and had been breast feeding and that's the time I mc so to me it's not helped or hindered

Right, I am coming over here. Think I will be out for July soon enough so should come meet the August crew! Some familiar faces too, August will be our month! It will!!!

Re: alcohol, I stopped drinking one cycle before we're planning to start TTC (been on the wagon for 3 weeks now...aarrgh). But if it it takes longer than a couple of cycles I think I'll be needing each time af makes its unwelcome appearance...

Other people who are taking epo/agnus castus - do you only take them for the first half of the month???

yep stick to epo only up to OV zeux supposed to cause contractions in the uterus after OV which you dont really want.

so can I just rely on checking ewcm to guess when I ov? or should I really be doing opks/temping to be sure when to stop popping those pills...?

We're still drinking but we have cut back.

OK so here is a ridiculous question...if some ladies are avoiding sweet foods whilst TTC, how bad would it be if I was to have cream tea on my ovulation day?

newbie2 is there such a thing as a bad cream tea?
I'm only cutting down sugar because I eat too much of it I'm a cream tea a day kinda gal

If I've ovulated can I have my cream tea now?

Woody for what it's worth, the 6 week period between CD1 and the day I got my BFP with DD were, for reasons I won't bore you with, the booziest of my life so my own experience is that alcohol at the time makes no difference. I can see that a chronic problem would adversely affect your chances but am not convinced that short-term deprivation is necessary!

Hah hah so I can have cream tea with champagne? ;) This weekend is looking brighter by the minute :)

Hi All can I join? TTC 18 months +. 1st one. I am 34. Not been to docs yet so not sure if any probs. Trying to do things as naturaly as poss so less pressure not tried CB OV test yet. Hope I don't have to! Testing 3rd aug.

woody to answer your question about drinking I am a bit hungover today. Night out with friends last night. Including one who is 24 weeks pregnant and another who is 10 weeks (and a possible who is 4 days late but poas and got a bfn).

It didn't actually bother me, the whole world can't stop ttc just because I am trying too.

Thanks - now I have mc, I am going to go back to drinking. I don't drink that much anyway but I'm not going to stop completely while we ttc.

I have uber long cycles I am expecting AF at the end of August so guess I should be POAS at some point at the end of august...
