Hi ladies,

For those of us out of the July game there are not many places to hide so I thought I'd start a new August thread to give us all some positive vibes!

Cycle 3 - BFP August 6th

ribs, cycle day 1 is the first day you come on your period Smile

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 19/07/2012 10:56

Hi resipsa not looking at using the fertility monitor. Based on the last two months chemical pregnancies we have no problem getting pregnant I think we have a problem implanting. Their figures do look impressive though (as good as ivf?) I can see why you are tempted.

I am also on wishful thread. Plan is to be crazy and obsessive on this one and chilled out on the other. Today is a stressful day.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 19/07/2012 11:02

Oh have just booked app with GP to find out if anything caused the two chem pregs (she will probably say no). I have decided to take Angus castus, epo and low dose aspirin to see if that improves implantation (have not bought the epo or aspirin yet so need to get a move on as it is cd5 today).

resipsa · 19/07/2012 11:34

Boots has 3-4-2 offer on EPO! Must get a grip today. Feeling irrational hatred towards very nice colleague who has 2 yr old cause I've just figured out that she must have got preg on her honeymoon (and the first month of trying). (She didn't tell me that in an annoying way, I just sat at my desk and worked it out - loser.) No wonder she's so relaxed about when to try for no.2!

MightBeMad · 19/07/2012 11:36

Hello. Can I join you? Not quite certain yet but think we're about to start TTC #2 (hence the name) as af has just returned post-bf dc1, who's 10.5 months. Are we mad?? Grin

MightBeMad, cycle 1, BFP due 15 August

Newbie2 · 19/07/2012 11:39

whenshewaa oh dear about sugar! I've been scoffing myself with sweets this week eeek! I better have a couple of healthy days before the egg releases. How do you know about DH sperm? Did the GP test him? My DH eats so many cakes..I hope that doesnt effect his swimmers :(

Rib cd1 is first day of AF

Hah Resipsa so understand how you're feeling today! I'm on CD 11 and going nuts waiting for my peak day! Also, I've just worked out that my friend got pregnant on my wedding day...imagine how envious I feel Envy

I am really concerned how bloated I get the weak leading up to ovulation? I feel so uncomfortable. Can't wear tights or trousers! WTF?

OP posts:
Newbie2 · 19/07/2012 11:50

I'm also a bit crampy :(

resipsa · 19/07/2012 11:50

Might - a bit mad but we did the same at 9 months! Had m/c earlier this year but still hoping. DD is 18 months tomorrow Grin.

threeleftfeet · 19/07/2012 11:51

Well doing the first OPK felt slightly odd. Reminded me of previous pregnancy tests although I was less nervous of course!

But then when it came up negative I felt disappointed although logically it was exactly what I was expecting (I reckon I'll ovulate this weekend - Sunday maybe?).

Also, I expected the packet to have one plastic thingy and lots of strips, rather than 8 plastics thingies to pee on then bin.
Does anyone else feel it seems quite wasteful to chuck away so much plastic? Hopefully I won't need to buy any more (got 2 months worth) but if I do I'll look at other options I think.

I'm sure this will all seem totally ordinary within a few days - just the musings of an OPK beginner!

MightBeMad · 19/07/2012 11:59

Resipsa - sorry about your loss. I had one before dc1 as well, that's one of the reasons for starting now. Fingers crossed for you this month.

frustratedpants · 19/07/2012 12:01

No intentional sugar here. And trying to eat healthy. Is seriously hard work considering I'm usually stuffing my face eating cakes and chocolate and generally unhealthy snacking.

threeleftfeet · 19/07/2012 12:06

frustratedpants please may I ask, why are you avoiding sugar?

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 19/07/2012 12:06

Best of luck might

newbie am pretty sure dh's swimmers are ok because I had two chemical pregnancies the past two months. It means we did conceive (sperm fused with egg) but for some reason it didn't implant properly or died soon after implanting.

Am trying to be positive and just focus on making a nice healthy uterus for August (and Sept & Oct depending on how long this takes). I wouldn't worry too much about the sugar thing, it's just a theory it might help so I thought I would try it.

kittykatsforever · 19/07/2012 12:18

Hello familiar faces
Still stuck in the half way house that is cod but trying to use ribs as an example, David beckham isn't in here so I don't want to stay for long, considering pulling away from mn to keep me more sane this month but as doing cb trial I will be thinking about it everyday anyway!
Girls who have had a mc ( Sad) how long has it taken you after one to conceive again or how long have people been trying, this was my second month which I know us no time at all but I guess I did buy into the more fertile myth and really hoped it would just click right into place

resipsa · 19/07/2012 12:22

Newbie a friend getting pregnant at your wedding is just plain rude! Wink

kittykatsforever · 19/07/2012 12:25

Ow just checked in diary and if af hurries up, my next bfp due date will be or around my 6th wedding anaversary and my dads bday, wouldn't that be nice Grin

  • not gona mention the other outcome, positive mental thinking etc
resipsa · 19/07/2012 12:26

Hi Kitty I think that's why I was so upset this month, too. The "superfertile" 3 months post-m/c have come and gone Sad. It's probably a load of rubbish anyway and haven't I read somewhere that eggs take 3 months to mature fully so you need to be at month 4 after m/c (at least) to ensure that the eggs weren't under any stress from the outset...I suspect this theory has many, many holes but please let me believe it for now, peeps!

frustratedpants · 19/07/2012 12:57

aufaniae No major reason for no sugar, just think that I eat far far far far far too much of it. also cut down on dairy although not calcium the dairy coz it was making me feel nauseous. I'm also eating more fruit non TTC I usually avoid it
I do feel healthier though so all is good.

RIBS · 19/07/2012 13:27

kitty MMC discovered in December. Still trying to get up diffed. I was told by every woman and her dog. Ooohh you'l catch back on straight away. Big Fat Liars. Some people do, its the luck of the draw. Others arent so lucky.

I think ive been so unsucessful because I was literally butchered after the MMC. I dont think my insides have recovered properly. Im kind of hoping the the chemical preg is a sign that its nearly there and maybe next month it'l be made of velcro and my innerds will be fuzzy enough for it to grab on and bloody well stay there.

Of course day one is 1st day of period, I couldnt get my head round it - what an idiot, its not like im new to this. It'l be 20 months of excessive nookie. Back on the clomid tomorrow then. Dizzy spells here we come. Im starting to get used to them its like being permanently pissed.

Bollocks to work I say. Iv just booked myself in for a lovely facial. Smile

resipsa · 19/07/2012 14:10

Oh God RIBS what happened? Did you have ERPC? I had mine the day after Mother's Day and bled until mid-April Sad. Every now and then (usually when I am trying to get to sleep) I have irrational thoughts that the surgery has somehow ruined my uterus forever. Were your complications recognised promptly?

Zeuxippe · 19/07/2012 14:14

Ooh a facial. Now that's what you need. Something lovely, relaxing and pampering.

I've been thinking about doing acupuncture as supposed to be very good for TTC, has anyone else tried it?

RIBS · 19/07/2012 15:24

Well rep, to cut a long story sort - the hospital made me have medical management. I was in hospital for 2 days while they have me pills to make me abort the "tissue". Passed huge blood clots (so much that I had overnight stays as they said id bleed to death before I could get back to hospital) They then used the enormous tongs twice to pull the tissue out of my cervix, the pain was excrutiating. It didnt work either day! I told them from the start it wouldnt work and i wanted an ERPC - they wouldnt give me one as they were determined this would work. So 10 days after the finding out id been carrying a dead foetus they gave me an ERPC. 2 days before xmas! Bled for nearly a month after. Dont you just love the NHS. No period until March.

Zeux Facial was lovely. Iv started the acupuncture a few weeks ago. Only had one session, im off again on Wednesday. Ill try anything me!! Grin I dont think it can do any harm. The guy who does it is crazy but couldnt care less if it works.

kittykatsforever · 19/07/2012 16:11

God ribs that sounds horrendous!!!
I was ' lucky' I guess in that it was natural and the scan showed it had all gone, unlucky in that it happened without warning on my dd naming day infront of a room full of people, they didn't know but I was on hooks and just wanted to go home, the bitch at a & e was also the icing on the cake!!
Thankyou for sharing your stories, I guess it just really is pot luck how long it takes but I cant believe I spent years as a teenager worried about getting of if we has a split condom or missed pill when I've spent the last 4 yrs using nothing and been pg only twice!

winkle2 · 19/07/2012 16:13
