Hi ladies,

For those of us out of the July game there are not many places to hide so I thought I'd start a new August thread to give us all some positive vibes!

Cycle 3 - BFP August 6th

I am imagining pregnancy symptoms! (It's way too early and been here before.)

I'm sure you all know exactly what I mean!

Nice to imagine it could be true this month though :)

Argh. Found out today my cousin, who is visiting family this weekend, has a big surprise to announce when she gets here. Would put money on her being pregnant. That would make her the third pregnancy annoucement in 10 days.

Trying not to be Envy but it is getting really hard. Must start practicing happy face for Sunday.

Newbie2 · 28/07/2012 00:14

WhenShe ahhhh that is tricky! I find it better to know in advance...that way I can tackle my frustration and then find the strength to politely smile and carry on! I'm sure by Sunday you will pull a smile out the bag :)

OP posts:
wishfulthinking1 · 28/07/2012 07:27

whenshewas - if you can avoid it, can you possibly be somewhere else when she makes this over dramatic surprise announcement? it's hardy a surprise if you all know it's coming, is it? or can you corner her by yourself earlier and say, "so what's the surprise then?"

Does anyone in family know you're ttc? Only thing worse than feeling shit about it, is everyone looking your way to see if you're feeling shit about it!! Hope she has something else surprising to announce... A new hairdo or something!!
X

SunshineOutdoors · 28/07/2012 08:08

Ah, whenshewas just think when it's your turn to tell everyone you're pregnant you'll do it in a better, more subtle, caring about others way
(I'm feeling a bit of a bitch this morning!)

It is good she's spoiled the surprise early though, at least you're having time to prepare.

Chin up all it will happen for us all. First testers middle if next week? I'm getting excited.

I've started doing Gillian michael's shred every other day to try to get fit. Dtd eod on the in-between days. It's good as it's making me look forward to the shag days as they're not shred days! Have found a new enthusiasm, even dtd on a shred day once this week just because I wanted a shag Grin

fatasbutter · 28/07/2012 08:13

Yes whenshewas I always like to be forewarned too!! Best to be super pleased and hug and then (still smiling) quietly slip away to do something like turn the oven up/down or realise u r suddenly desperate for the loo!! As long as u react really positively initially you can get away with these things! Good luck, and hopefully it's something completely different - maybe she won the lottery and wants to give you a million?????! Wink

kittykatsforever · 28/07/2012 08:18

Sunshine I am in envy of your shag enthusiasm, if the pregnancy award goes to anyone for dtd you'd win hands down lol
Whenshewas , feel for you, why does someone have to make a big announcement?? When it took us almost 2 years I still only told people via text and my mum passed the message around to family etc, as my sister often says, no one else cares lol

jessiethecowgirl · 28/07/2012 10:31

Hi Everyone! Can I jump on board please???
I had a MC earlier this month, and now am SO desperate for an August BFP! I think I have just ov'd, making me officially in the 2ww and therefore needing some Mumsnet distraction!! I have 1 year old DD who was conceived first cycle trying. And my recent MC was also first cycle trying, so fx equal luck this month!
Here are my stats:

jessie - Cycle 1 - BFP due 10th Aug

Now to read through 14 pages of posts. Looking forward to hearing about everyones TTC journeys!

wishfulthinking1 · 28/07/2012 10:49

Hi jessie so sorry to hear about the mc- fx that it'll happen straight away again xxx

Zeuxippe · 28/07/2012 16:19

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a lovely weekend. Just checking in to say that I'm out for August - DP and I have had a long chat and decided to put off ttc again until September as by then I will know whether I have a job or not and the stress of this whole redundancy process will be over. We are going to try in September though whatever happens, whether or not I'm still employed.

Just wanted to say good luck to everyone and I hope you all get lovely BFPs!! Will check in to see how you all get on xx

Hi Zeux I hope things go your way at work. And in the nicest possible way, I hope none of us are on the September thread Grin but if I am I'll look out for you -although if I miss august I might be bloody October thanks to my stupid long cycle

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 29/07/2012 05:23

newbie wishful sunshine fatas thanks for the messages. I agree I am really glad she has "spoilt" the surprise. Don't like feeling jealous, I love my cousin and else will be a great mum. Not really sure how you announce a pregnancy sensitively (especially when she doesn't know I am ttc at the moment).

This could work out really well if I could get pregnant quite soon our kids would be a similar age. Would prefer the lottery win though. Grin

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 29/07/2012 05:30

Oops missed out kitty sorry been up since 4.30am with sick dd.

To be completely fair to my cousin, when I got pregnant two years ago I announced it on her hen do (didn't have much choice the not drinking would not have gone unnoticed). I was of course then a pregnant bridesmaid at her wedding.

She couldn't have been nicer about it, made sure I was left alone to have a sleep in the day during the hen do (it was abroad). She was so sweet not a hint of bridezilla. That's why I feel guilty for feeling jealous. She is lovely, the family has been wondering if she would be getting pregnant and I can see why she wants a bit of fuss.

Actually she could have been having a nightmare time ttc since the wedding.

kittykatsforever · 29/07/2012 06:14

I think that's the way to look at it whenshewas , I guess we never know others struggles and if she had problems, sounds like she's lovely and fx you get updiffed as it Is great when you do have cousins the same age!
My dd has decided to become a normal baby recently as she has a cough and has been up since 5 both the last nights aswell Sad

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 29/07/2012 07:05

Hi kitty. Sorry to hear about your dd. it is exhausting when they don't sleep, not that mine has ever slept well.

Dexidoo · 29/07/2012 11:21

Stupid stupid stupid POAS this morning and BFN (10dpo) I don't need anyone else to tell me I'm a wally.

Bought a twin pack FRER yesterday afternoon (after a couple of glasses of wine it seemed like a good idea)

I am not using the other one until next Saturday unless the witch gets me.

letsdothisthing · 29/07/2012 12:00

Oh sorry Dexi, hope its too early for you and fx that AF stays away!!

Newbie2 · 29/07/2012 12:02

Oh Dex you're not a wolly! You're just very keen to be pregnant! You're not alone as well! I too brought a twin pack yesterday and got a BFN. Don't let MN users pursuade you when you should test. It's actually starting to bug me now when people say 'you tested too early' Yes it's a waste of money and Yes it might have been too early but at least you yourself know now and can move on with te next DtD plan :) if you want to spend your hard earn cash on 10000s of pregnant tests go for it! I bet the ones who say its too early secretly have done it themselves :)

hellokittydrivesmenuts · 29/07/2012 13:01

Hi all good luck in your missions for August bfp's , may I join you all to stop the insanity for the month? X

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 29/07/2012 13:04

dexi I think newbie is right. I always try to test later on but regularly cave and test stupidly early.

I have a few preg tests in the house but dh has hidden them so I will have to explain myself to him before I can poas.

jessiethecowgirl · 29/07/2012 13:18

I understand the testing early thing, I have always done it lol. Although once I do it I'm pretty good at waiting the 48 hours to retest, etc.

2 weeks is just too long!! I'm currently 2dpo and can't believe how long I have to wait to poas sigh... I will enjoy hearing about all the BFPs to come over the next few weeks :) fx to everyone!

Zeux sorry to hear that you're out this month re: employment stuff. Hopefully it all works out for you!

SunshineOutdoors · 29/07/2012 13:43

I think I just try to help people not test too early because I know what a head fuck it is. Not trying to be smug and annoying and yes I have tested too early myself but just trying to save someone else the disappointment and lack of certainty testing early brings.

But I do know how hard it is and once you've got it in your head you have to test really.

winkle2 · 29/07/2012 14:26
