Hello all the new ttc-ers - welcome to the world of bizarre periods!

Well done Helsbels!

I like the thought of enjoying Xmas/Xmas BD too CD - and September babies get a headstart at school (extra year of nursery/nanny fees, thought)!

bunny2 · 10/11/2003 20:59

Congratulations Helsbels. Have a fantastric 9 months.

M2T · 10/11/2003 21:12

Evening ladies! Finally back on MN at home. Emma - you are MAAAAAAD.

crystaltips · 10/11/2003 21:40

Lucky you guys .... I'm joiing the ranks .... unwillingly.
Too old and settled to cope with all that again.... SOrry to put a downer on your joy .... AND a sober Christmas

M2T · 10/11/2003 21:43

Crystaltips - D'you mean you've gotten pg accidentally.

Poor you! How far on are you? And how old are you if you don't mind me asking.

crystaltips · 10/11/2003 21:50

5 weeks late
positive
Due in July
TOTAL ACCIDENT ... nothing sinister !
I will be 40

M2T · 10/11/2003 21:54

Oh dear.

I know that if I had gotten pg last year I would be DEVASTATED!
If it's any consolation my Mum had my youngest brother (her 4th child) on the very day of her 40th birthday!

There is 14 between us and my other brother was only 3! I love having brothers so young and they loved having 2 older sisters.
How old are your other children and how does you DH feel about it? Do your kids know yet?

I was 10 when my Mum told me she was pregnant with No3. I was the happiest 10 year old EVER.

M2T · 10/11/2003 21:55

OOOOOOOPS! Meant 14 YEARS between me and my youngest brother! lol.

bunny2 · 10/11/2003 21:58

Crystaltips, I am very envious!! I realise it's a bit of a shock but what a lovely one. Hope it all goes very well for you.

crystaltips · 10/11/2003 22:01

Runs in my family ... my gran was 47 with her last one !! ( I used to be able to laugh about it )

DH ... doesn't know
My life was sorted ... 2 kids DS aged 10 and DD aged 8.
joined lots of classes, starting to set up my own business, and enjoying the freedom ...
Please don't hate me ... but I really don't want this one ... and I don't know what to do ....

M2T · 10/11/2003 22:05

Noones going to hate you!

How do you think DH wil react? This doesn't have to be the end to all plans though. I know it might all lookk like doom adn gloom at the moment, but I;m sure once you talk to your DH and you work out some practicalities it won't seem so disastrous..... some things are just meant to be. And also bear in mind that you now have 2 extra little helpers!
They can fetch bottles, clothes, nappies..... and after a couple of attempts I was changing nappies at 10 yrs old.

Why haven't you told DH yet? Have you only just found out??

M2T · 10/11/2003 22:07

I was trying to say that you won't have a toddler AND a small baby now. It will be very different and, hopefully, much easier than you expect. Some other MN'ers with experience of that will surely jump in with loads of advice for you.

crystaltips · 10/11/2003 22:08

No ... I've known for a while. I know it sounds crass ... but I know my body .. all I have to do is drop my knickers

Havent told DH ..cos I am bricking it .... I'm sure he'll be OK ( nearly ) .... it'll be me who does the lion's share at the end of the day

Little helpers ..... at 3 am, at 10am, when the Simpsons are on .... I don't think so

bunny2 · 10/11/2003 22:10

Crystaitips, M2T is right, noone's going to hate you. This a a huge upheaval and it does sound as if it going to be difficult for you. There are big decisions to make right now and only you and your dh can decide what to do so I suppose my only advice is to tell him as soon as you can. Wish I could be of more help.

M2T · 10/11/2003 22:12

Fair enough..... they won't do the night feeds! But that only lasts a short time..... except with my ds!!!!

Go tell him.......... you will feel much better.

I am sending you much sympathy regarding the sober xmas..... from a hardened wine drinker I don't envy you that! But come on... is there a wee part of you curious to whether its a boy or a girl... which of your other 2 'it' will look like.... having a tiny person that just looooovvvves you soooooooo much they could melt your heart?

....not that I'm broody....

crystaltips · 10/11/2003 22:15

sorry ... but no
Have been thinking about a sterilisation .... DH too worried about his "bits" to go in for a vasectomy ....
I only wish I had gone with my gut feeling.

M2T · 10/11/2003 22:17

GO TELL HIM!!!!

Surely it isn't all bad?

bunny2 · 10/11/2003 22:20

Looks like it's the three of us! Crystaltips, you are only 5 weeks, it is very early days and you have plenty of time to fall in love with your baby. You also have time to terminate the pregnancy if that is what is best for you and your family. It's a choice lots of women make for various reasons, I had a termination at 21 becasue I felt too young. It is your choice and you are free to make that decision if you wish. Please dont feel judged by anyone, it is your choice.

crystaltips · 10/11/2003 22:23

bunny2 ... mwah mwah !

Just feeling very very scared at the moment

bunny2 · 10/11/2003 22:23

Just read that post and it seems a bit one-sided. I just wanted to emphasise there IS a choice. Perhaps after a scan the pg will become more "real" and you will fall head-over-heels in love with your baby. I hope so. For waht it is worth I think you are brave to admit your feelings, lots of women dont and then have to tackle these issues once the baby is born.

bunny2 · 10/11/2003 22:24

Oooh, we posted exactly the same time

M2T · 10/11/2003 22:32

Perhaps we should start another thread about this coz we don't want all the TTC'ers logging on tomorrow to conversations about terminations!... just a thought.

But Bunny is definitely right.

However.... TELL HIM TELL HIM TELL HIM!

crystaltips · 10/11/2003 22:36

I'm off 2 bed anyway ... no wine keeping me up 2nite !
What does TTC mean BTW ?

M2T · 10/11/2003 22:37

It means Trying To Conceive.... night. I hope things look clearer in the morning.

Did I mention that I think you should TELL HIM!!?

bunny2 · 10/11/2003 22:38

TTC = trying to conceive.

Good night
