oh lucy il keep my fingers crossed for you!

well still not even one sign of anything, except that im starving in the middle of the night, which i was with dd, but im trying to ignor it in case af is just round the corner!!

bit down atm, just realised its a year next monday since my nan died and i cant believe its been so long, i havnt even thought about it for months and now my emotions are all over the place. oh well....she was old and was living on borrowed time anyway but it still hurts, especially with me all wrapped up in my wedding and the possibility of a new bump....oh i dont know mixed emotions really!

trace2 · 03/02/2006 19:58

hi ive posted a few times on here, and am on feb thread, but you ladys seen to know a lot about blood tests,
gp sent me for day 19 blood test and then he wants day3, which i think will be next week, and then repeat once more, and then he said he would refer me, as i am 40 in april, but i would really had liked to been refered while waiting for bloods

Jen1209 · 03/02/2006 20:41

Stacey - sorry to hear you are a bit mixed up at the moment. It's really hard losing a grandparent. My gran is on borrowed time at the moment and when she goes (which I hope won't be for ages) we are all going to be heartbroken. Loads of hugs to you and fingers crossed!

Trace2. My GP suggested that I had my bloods done whilst I was being referred as it is a 17 week wait here (North Essex) so I would advise you ask for them now so the Consultant has something to work on when you see them... I had 2 lots of day 3 and day 21 done - hope this helps and good luck with your GP & referral

trace2 · 03/02/2006 21:01

have done but hes says i have to wait untill they get both results back ,befor he can refer me, am in yorkshire

Jen1209 · 03/02/2006 21:08

Thats odd, wouldn't have thought that would be a problem. I was referred before any bloods at all?! I would query it with your gp if I were you...

trace2 · 03/02/2006 21:10

well my normal gp wouldnt even do blood test, they said i was to old, am 40 in april, but i saw a locum and he did tests, but when i phoned back he said i had to wait to be refered

jane313 · 04/02/2006 08:49

yes its a real lottery. I was refered after one blood test showed soemthing wrong and before second one confirmed it. Then I found out the letter to the hospital had never arrived. They faxed it but it was a 4-5 moths wait so am going private at the same place. I thought I was just be prescribed clomid so it wouldn't be too pricey then consultant ordered tons of expensive tests!

jane313 · 04/02/2006 08:51

stacey, anniversaries can be so hard. Its 14 years since my mum died tomorrow and it still upsets me. I hate valentines day now as that is when her funeral was and the money grabbing florists charged more for all the funeral flowers.

majormoo · 04/02/2006 14:54

Stacey-sorry you are feeling down about your nan. Although anniversaries bring sadness, I think it is also nice that it makes you stop and think about the person you loved and why you loved them. Jane that is shocking that they ripped you off with the cost of funeral flowers.

Stacey it does sound very positive anyway, that your AF is so late. You are very good holding off testing so far! Good luck

And good luck to Lucy too.

Trace I hope you get referred soon-it seems so unfair that it seems to depend on where you live, as to have quickly you are seen.

As for me, I am feeling shattered and quite down really this weekend. Had to go and register at new GP yesterday (we are moving GP after the vaccine blunders with DD) and mentioned I was newly pregnant to the receptionist. She told me there is a long wait to see a midwife so I had to explain my situation i.e. may need a CVS and need to get appointment sorted out at Kings. It isn't very nice having to talk about your termination in front of everyone in the clinic, but at least the receptionist was sympathetic and booked me an appointment with GP for Monday.

I think I will risk joining the antenatal thread for October soon-it is hardly going to change the outcome if I post on there. Hopefully I will have lots of companions from here as well!!

jabberwocky · 04/02/2006 15:38

Hi, everone! I'd like to join the lucky thread. Dh and I will officially start ttc this month. I've stocked up on grapefruit juice already

Piffle · 04/02/2006 17:26

luco any news honey? fingers crossed x x x

Jen1209 · 05/02/2006 15:02

Hi,

Stacey and Jane - thinking of you with your anniversaries at the mo - Jane, that is v about the florists charging extra - some people have no soul...

Also Stacey, you are so strong willed not to test, I would have pee'd on about 7 sticks by now

Lucy - have you done yours yet?

Hi to Jabberwocky - funny you should mention grapefruit juice - DP picked some up from Tesco this morning and he didn't notice that the seal was already broken and some had been taken out so there was £1.62 down the drain that someone would do that i.e open it then put it back on the shelf...

lucy5 · 05/02/2006 15:42

Sad to report that I am not preggers but will keep trying. Good luck to everyone , will keep you posted.

jabberwocky · 05/02/2006 16:37

re: grapefruit juice - That is really strange that someone would do that! I'll be checking out of paranoia from now on

gemmaseascout · 06/02/2006 09:59

Hi

Am 24 and have come off depo in october. Been trying hard to have baby, bding all the time!
Had very bad pains in abdomen friday night, woke me up. Could it it be implantation? Dont know when I would have ovulated as I havent been having periods.

Hi all,

Sorry to hear the news Lucy, its such an emotional rollercoaster isn't it? Treat yourself to a large glass of wine Hugs to you hun

Hi Gemma, not sure what the pains could be, think implantation may come with a bit of bleeding? Sorry not much help, hope someone else can...

J

Piffle · 07/02/2006 14:38

Sorry to hear that Lucy, hope you're ok about it.
Gemmaseascout if your pains were one sided could it have been ovulation pain? I often get them so bad they wake me up.

gemmaseascout · 07/02/2006 14:44

I have never had ovulation pain before, even before I started on the depo. So wouldnt know. It definitly wasnt a stomach ache!! Well have been bding saturday and sunday so fingers crossed!!

lucy5 · 10/02/2006 21:03

Sorry if this is a stupid question but how do I work out my cycle roughly? Is it from day 1 of period? I dont want to get into kits yet, just want to keep an eye on things.

My best friend has recently told me that she is preggers and I feel a little bit sad. Isn't that terrible? I haven't even been trying and already i'm feeling like this. I am very pleased for her as she has had a miscarriage but i couldnt help feeling a little bit jealous and i have shocked myself.

Artoo · 11/02/2006 09:26

Hi ladies,

Sorry about going all quiet on you - work has gone mega-busy, and my evenings seem to be filled with activity, so my computer time is severely cut down.

I'm still here, and still TTC. Next gynae appointment is now only slightly more than one week away, so I'm looking forward to that. My gynae told me in December that he didn't think I was ovulating, and since then I've been trying various methods to see if I can detect OV. This cycle I treated myself to a Clearblue fertility monitor, and I am so excited because this morning on CD15 I got a little egg symbol - that should mean I am due to OV

Staceym - sorry about AF. I hope this cycle is the one for you!

Lucy - it's very difficult to predict what your cycle is doing without using kits etc, because every woman is different. CD1 is the first day of your period A woman with a 28 day cycle is supposed to ovulate around CD14, but this varies from woman to woman. Your best bet i you don't want to get into kits etc is to make sure you have sex 2-3 times per week throughout your cycle. That should be enough to do it. Remember that 95% of couples will get pregnant within one year of trying, and if you've tried for a year with no joy, go to your GP (make that six months if you are close to 35).

Hugs to all!

Artoo.

peachygirl · 12/02/2006 11:18

Lucy, you should count the first day of your perod as day 1 and the day before your next period starts as the last day. A good way of tracking your cycle is through CM. I have posted a website, (on various threads,I'm sure everyone is fed up of me posting it)
I'll put it on here
Have a look, it will help you understand your cycle. Go to where it says indicators.
You could always got to your local family planning nurses if they do natural family planning. They will be able to help you learn about your cycle. Again on the site there is a section that will tell your where your nearest clinic is.
