Angel glad all was ok. What's the anaesthetic assesment? Hope you hang on until Tuesday! I'm not too bad thanks, feeling better today again. x

ciwi happy belated birthday. Good luck for Monday, I hope the scan goes well. x

Had a lovely day today, knackered now though. Might try and get an early night but probable won't be able to sleep!

AngelGeorgie · 15/10/2011 21:32

Hi Cheese anasethetic assessment is basically a load of questions to ensure I m
Safe for an aesthetic and they explain about different types of anaesthesia. I ll be having a spinal block as is fast acting but wears off quicker. More worried about the catheter having passed loads on women
( well & men!!!) I don t fancy that but... Xxxglad today was a good day xx

CheeseandGherkins · 15/10/2011 21:43

Angel ah that makes sense, how does a spinal differ from an epidural? I've never had either but I might need a section and am terrified so trying to find out as much as possible. The thought of being numb really scares me. I had a catheter put in while having ds2 (they thought it was my bladder being full stopping him from descending) and it just stung for a second as they put it in and the same when removed but couldn't feel it while it was there. Try not to worry about that part, I'm a right wuss when it comes to medical things and I wouldn't worry about that anymore :) xx

MelMal · 15/10/2011 22:12

I tried to read that thread and can't find it. Am I just being stupid?

janedoe25 · 15/10/2011 22:15

mel the link is working fine, but it should be on page 1 somewhere on chat.

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 15/10/2011 22:17

Angel, try not to worry about the catheter - didn't hurt a bit! I had one in during labour and for the next 24 hours so they could monitor my urine output. Don't really remember it being put in - might have been before epidural but after gas and air and morphine, but I'm not sure (was somewhat out of it). When the MW took it out again I thought it would hurt but I didn't even feel it. My sister sat on the bag Grin at one point and I got a bit worried, but all was fine. I was worried that my muscles wouldn't remember what to do and I would wet myself, but that was also fine.

Blue, discussion of the day!

janedoe25 · 15/10/2011 22:18

I lit a candle for all of our beautiful babies, thinking of you all xxx.

Bluetinkerbell · 15/10/2011 22:21

Cheese difference is the spinal doesn't last as long as the epidural so hopefully able to mobilise quicker & it's an local injection in to the fluid in the spinal cord where as the epidural is a line in thd same place . Spinal is generally quicker acting also. Thanks for advice on catheters u 2. Not souch having it inserted or removed just the thought of not knowing whiter I m pissing myself or not!!!!
Great thread Blue x

razzdazz · 16/10/2011 10:17

Hello everyone hope you are all well and having a good weekend.

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 16/10/2011 13:12

Am consumed with nervous energy - hence have been hoovering and am on second load of washing already! Must Keep Busy... DH on the other hand is dealing with the pressure by playing Playstation incessantly. We are going out for dinner tonight too. Last meal for the condemned (wo)man! (Apart from breakfast and probably lunch tomorrow, that is.) Wibble, wibble.

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 16/10/2011 13:12

How are you holding up, Ciwi?

greenzebra · 16/10/2011 14:31

Also thinking of Too and ciwi for tomorrow, hope you manage to get some sleep tonight xx

ciwi · 16/10/2011 21:50

Thanks for thinking about me girls, you really are a great support. I am just recovering from a major flip out, I am just so scared. I can feel this little one moving about and I just can't lose this baby too. I am tempted to wimp out of the scan but I know I can't, I have to face it to give the baby the best chance, it's just so hard though.

MelMal · 17/10/2011 08:04

Too & Ciwi I'll be thinking about both of you today. I hope everything goes ok xxx

greenzebra · 17/10/2011 09:02

God bosses are twats mine just tried to be-little be in front of the workforce, what a cock! Why can a guy be so nice to me and then when some one asks me for directions to a college I went to for 8 years, he cant handle it and trys to put me down. I had a go back! I dont care any more, in the past this would have had me in tears but this time I just dont care. If he doesnt like me standing up for myself then its his problem. He cant look at me at the moment.
Its like since Ophelia died I really dont care what happens, it means nothing, its no big deal anymore I have bigger things to worry about and deal with.
And knowing too what too and ciwi are going through today, this is so trivial.

Waves at everyone else.

mel how are you doing this morning? Have you done anymore tests?

razzdazz · 17/10/2011 09:19

too just want to say that I am thinking of you today and praying that all goes well, I am sure that it will xx
Also special thoughts to you ciwi and prayers for good news xx
Incase I dont get on again today I wish angel so much happiness tomorrow when GILS is finally welcomed into the world xx
green sorry your boss is such a tit!! You are right though, he is not important enough to matter!!
Hope everyone else is okay, wishing you all well.

greenzebra · 17/10/2011 10:06

MelMal · 17/10/2011 10:29

Hi all, Green rise above them. Def stand up for yourself though. Your boss seems to have a touch of man PMT!! Just waiting on the midwife phoning today to arrange a dating scan. My dates make me 5 weeks today. This baby will be due round about the same time as Ruby's due date. Fingers crossed though x
