Oh no Cheese, not more calamities! Poor you - you're just trying to take things easy and these horrible things keep happening! I hope you're feeling better now.

Oh my God, the septic tank is leaking! I am freaking out and am too scared to use any water, even though I know perfectly well that the cold tap, for example, runs directly off the mains water and if I boil the water it will be fine anyway. I had the washing machine running and I let out the bathwater and then opened the front door and there was water welling up from under the slab that covers the septic tank! And it stank. I have called the factor and they're sending someone round at 1. They can't come fast enough for me. The water has now sunk away again and it is so windy that there isn't any smell outside any more, but the small bathroom stinks. Sad I am glad of one thing only, and that is that this is a rented house and the cost of fixing it will be the landlord's responsibility. Eww, I hope the guy turns up soon and can actually arrange to have the septic tank emptied, or something. We may have to move out until they can get it done. I feel sick.

DiffedAgainDachs · 07/09/2011 13:41

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 07/09/2011 17:44

Hello people.

Not a good day! The guy turned up to a) service the boiler and b) check the septic tank, and the bloody dog bit him! The poor guy swore and said the dog ought to be strung up by the neck (as I smacked dog and dragged him away to lock him in the bedroom), but luckily calmed down and isn't doing anything awful like insisting we get him put down. Phew! I had visions of him calling the police and insisting the dog be put down - although it was really only a nip and didn't bleed or anything. I have no idea what is wrong with the dog. He's never done that before. He must have taken an instant dislike to this guy and I, foolishly, thought it was all bark and no bite, as it were. It was entirely my fault. I was actually holding his collar as he did it!

The septic tank outflow is blocked and someone will have to come out with specialised equipment to clear it (what a lovely job to have!). Don't know yet when that will be. Hopefully soon!

And the dog has just been to the vet as has been limping since Saturday and he has an infection in his paw and needs antibiotics and painkillers. Perhaps that's why he bit the plumber.

Anyway, long day!

DiffedAgainDachs · 07/09/2011 18:02

poor too

I hope they fix the septic tank for you v soon.

And give the dog a big hug from me, poor thing. Sore paws are bound to make him a bit grumpy. I hope he feels better soon.

angel Good to hear you're getting your hospital bag sorted - not long now! Are you ready yet?

ciwi · 07/09/2011 18:24

Hi everyone,
too my dog is behaving strangely lately, she really barks and jumps at other dogs when we are out, she has never been like that before. Dh thinks she is being protective of me because I am pg because she doesnt do it when she is out with dh on her own. Maybe it is that?
Need to go now, tea is ready will check in again later x

razzdazz · 07/09/2011 18:46

dachs really pleased that things turned out well, what a huge relief.
cheese so sorry about the accident but pleased that you are all okay
too really hope they sort that septic tank soon......not pleasent at all Sad
green sorry you are finding work hard at the moment

Sorry if I have missed anyone, started my new job today and am so tired, feel like such a lightweight Hmm. Managed to conceal the sickness and was sick once under the disguise of the extractor fan Grin

MelMal · 07/09/2011 18:48

Too hope you get that sorted really soon as it must be a nightmare. Dogs do have a weird sixth sense thing and are very protective.
We were at a funeral today up at the crematorium and it was the first time that we'd been there since Ruby's funeral. We took some sunflowers with us though and visited the baby garden and the headstone where Ruby's name is. I felt weird. I didn't feel as sad as I thought I should be feeling. It might be as I've been writing an article for our church newsletter so have been quite emotional all week. Also going to tell Ruby's story at our monthly sands meeting this month. Quite nervous about it but want to talk about her as it'll be her 6 month birthday. Anyway, I've managed to hold off doing any more tests so far!

AngelGeorgie · 07/09/2011 21:19

Diffed don t think I ll be ready to she's here. Doesn t seem real won't believe it to we re holding her and she's screaming her lungs off!!!
Love to all xx

greenzebra · 08/09/2011 08:13

too I bet the dog was protecting you, animals are funny, my cat used to hang around me alot when I was pg. I bet dogs are even more protective as you are part of their pack, they work in a pack mentallity to protect you and your baby as you are their future and family. Sweet really but stressful to you as you have to think about the new situations the dog can get itself into to protect you.

Ive been blanked twice today, so I suppose Im going to have to get used to it. Its sucks though I dont have anything you are going to catch, you dont have to say anything to me except acknowledge my exsistence, say hi, how you doing? Im not going to splert out all my woes to you, why would I! People are F*@kers. But then theres the other people who have been so nice to me, got to be grateful to them they do out number the crap people!

Im so stressed which doesnt help, still havnt heard about the house, supposed to this week, I know its only thursday but we were supposed to be in in April! I need this house for my sanity, lol.

Hope everyone else has a better day today.

DiffedAgainDachs · 08/09/2011 09:35

Happy Birthday shakey :) And hope the appointment goes well :)

green Sorry people are still being crap. Good luck with the house stuff.

I have a dilemma today! No idea what to wear for my appointment later, but I want to look pretty as a I have a massive teeny tiny crush on my obstetrician :) Would wear a dress but the weather looks crap. Hmmm...

greenzebra · 08/09/2011 09:45

happy birthday shakey

dachs that is a dilemma, perhaps wear a dress anyway if the weather is crap you will look bright and cheerful and lovely in a dress.

shakeyjake · 08/09/2011 11:32

thanks for the birthday messages.

dachs definatley waer the dress, wish i had the figure for it. Envy

My appt went ok, didn't actually see the consultant but a registrar and a med student. They tried to tell me i didnt need any extra scansand that i could do with just the 20 week one and growth at 28. Queue me with tears as all expecting to stick with consultants plan for scans at 16 and 24. But they now aggree i can have the 16 week one so should be in the next 2 weeks. Heard the heartbeat straight away and now have less blood than i went in with. Lol i think midwives must be vampires in disguise.

Hope everyones day goes well :-)

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 08/09/2011 11:34

Grin Dachs, your dilemma made me laugh out loud! Wear a dress and tights and a cardigan - I live in those at the moment because my trousers and jeans are starting to dig in at the waist and my maternity jeans are still too big. I feel that dresses are more flattering just at present. I actually can't wait until my bump starts to show and I can wear maternity dresses again.

Green, grr, what annoying people! Thinking of themselves first, not of you. At least you have nice people around you to balance them out. I hope your house gets sorted out soon. It must be so frustrating to be waiting this long. I would expect 'this week' to mean by Wednesday at least and I would be phoning them (or making DH do it) to ask what was going on! Phone them, phone them!

Mel, how brave you are! Ruby will be so proud of you. Have you written out what you want to say, or are you just going to extemporise at the time?

Razz, hope the new job is going well and that you aren't sick today!

Maybe the dog is being more protective because of the pregnancy. I do think he's always more protective of me when DH isn't here and someone comes to the door. DH says I'm not projecting enough Pack Leader/Alpha Female vibe and he thinks he's in charge, but I'm not convinced, because he does obey me and if he's bad he looks very guilty when I shout at him. He sinks to the floor, rolls over on his back and puts his paws in the air...which is very very cute.

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 08/09/2011 11:36

Crossed posts, Shakey! Happy Birthday! Glad to hear you're getting your 16 week scan as promised, but grr that you had to fight for it. Hurray for hearing the heartbeat! How lovely.

DiffedAgainDachs · 08/09/2011 11:46

too Your dog sounds cute - one of my dogs does exactly the same when I tell him off. The other one just looks at me when I tell her off, with a heartbreaking little look which clearly says 'you're cross with me, that means you don't love me any more. why don't you love me? my little doggy heart will break if you stop loving me. sob' and it's really really hard to stay cross with her! Luckily she's not naughty very often so I don't need to tell her off very much :) (I'm much less of a soft touch with the dogs than DH is though - he can never ever stay cross with them for more than about half a second even if they've been really naughty!)

shakey I don't actually have the figure to wear a decent dress but I have lost a lot of weight since I had the twins so I can probably just about get away with it. Sorry you didn't get to see the consultant and had to fight for your extra scans, but yay for getting them to give you one at 16 weeks :)

I still haven't figures out what to wear today - I was going to wear a dress and tights like you suggested too but I haven't bought any new tights since I lost the weight and the pair I put on were rather wrinkly around the ankles as they were too big for me. Might have to wear some nice jeans and a top. I have to leave in about half an hour, so I'd better figure it out soon!

Have a good day everyone Grin

CheeseandGherkins · 08/09/2011 12:47

Morning all, was seen by the gp today as I've been hurting quite a lot and still am. He said it's the ligaments that have been stretched by the crash and also my hips/pelvis, I'm clicking when I walk! I'm still feeling stiff but thankfully all ok. He checked for the baby's heartbeat too and heard it so that's great, I'm 12+1 today. Hospital tomorrow for diabetes nurse appt so we'll see how that goes, not looking forward to the finger pricks.

blue thanks :)

jane I was really worred, still am as I'm in pain quite a bit but at least I've had a quick scan and heart the baby's hb today at the gp and all sounded ok.

green thank you. Why on earth were you ignored? How inconsiderate and rude, bloody people.

dachs really pleased to hear that you don't have an ectopic, you must be so relieved! Hope all is going well for you

shakey heating has been on for a while here! I feel the cold so much, it's horrible. It goes on for an hour in the morning before we get up and in the evening and that's been ok so far but DH hates it hehe. Happy birthday! Hope you're having a good one :) I'm glad you have the scans that you were promised, just a shame you had to get so upset in order to get them.

Too Hope the tank gets sorted, what a nightmare! I'd bet that's why your dog bit the plumber, if he was in pain then they can do that and act all out of sorts. We also have a dog and it's horrible when they're in pain as there's not a huge amount you can do for them :( Give him lots of big bones to distract him :)

Angel I'm hoping things improve, nothing but bad luck lately it seems. Are you almost ready with your hospital bag now?

split how are things for you?

ciwi Odd that your dog is doing that, ours has been similar while out on walks but I hadn't related it to pregnancy, maybe that's why.

razz hope the new job is going well.

Mel I love sunflowers, we've taken them to Scarlett before too. Hope the funeral that you went to went as well as could be.

MelMal · 08/09/2011 16:48

I'm going to poas

MelMal · 08/09/2011 16:55

Waste of a test Hmm. I wonder if I'll ever manage to be patient? I hate not knowing what's going on with my body Angry.

Bluetinkerbell · 08/09/2011 17:30

hehe Mel I did the same! same here...negative... same feeling!

OP posts:
MelMal · 08/09/2011 17:42
