Thankyou Lugsie :) x

ImpatientOne · 29/01/2012 08:59

Good morning! How's everyone getting on??

I now have 2 chances left for 2012 as AF showed up yesterday - boo hiss! I'm feeling ok actually and not as bad as last month, despite all over body aching today! I had a lot more 'symptoms' last month so I think it was more of a come down. Feeling quite proud of myself for being more chilled out :)

Trying some new vitamins this month, the CBFM and will carry on with the Yes Baby! lubricant - still trying to convince myself I'm not obsessed... Blush

I was reading somewhere that the tannin in tea can affect fertility which was annoying as I have been drinking more tea to avoid coffee! Also does anyone know why peppermint tea is a no no in pregnancy?? Should I just stick to hot fruit juice!?!?

freedom2011 · 29/01/2012 09:42

Despite not being invited to my TTC party, AF turned up fashionably late on Friday/Saturday so I am back to 41 day cycles and square 1 for this month. I am going to have to just tell her bluntly we need some time apart and she can't keep turning up like this.

ImpatientOne sorry about AF :-(

Bah! Just realised stupid long cycles = One chance left for a 2012 baby. So to prevent myself sinking into self-pity, here are some things I am happy and grateful for

DH is wonderful, we are both healthy in mind and body, we have money to eat and a roof over our heads, we have lovely friends and families.

Have a good week everyone. Carry on carrying on. Grin

Lugsie · 29/01/2012 18:16

Sorry to hear about af arriving impatient & freedom

freedom you're so right - we have so much to be thankful for, for reasons you have mentioned. I had dreamt of becoming a mother this year but if it doesn't happen then its not the end of the world - 2013 will be my year instead, which is absolutely fine! Thanks for the positive thoughts! Smile

Lugsie · 29/01/2012 18:18

impatient I had no idea that tea could affect fertility?! I drink the stuff by the gallon! Blush

ImpatientOne · 29/01/2012 18:37

Well I don't know if it's worth worrying about Lugsie ? I think of all the people who drink tea and make babies and think it's a load of rubbish but then when you are struggling and looking for reasons you'll try anything won't you!?! It was on an American forum where this lady listed all of the different supplements that she took and things she avoided when she conceived but the list was huge !! It's not just 'normal' tea either there's lots of herbal teas with high levels of tannin...

Anyway I have updated the stats list - hope that's ok with everyone Blush it's now in AF order, thought I would take the chance while not on my phone! Didn't want to steal Babybrains thunder so left where she is for now Wink

Thanks for the positive thoughts freedom you are so right, despite AF showing up have had a lovely weekend with my DH working on our house :)

babybrain3 · 29/01/2012 20:30

I agree with impatient I drank loads of tea while I was ttc-have gone of it now though, makes me feel sick!! It's what I think my friends at work will notice first and start to wonder why I'm not drinking it!!! I will update the stats when I get on the pc- just tried on my phone and it's not working?

Lugsie · 30/01/2012 12:06

I think I might try cutting back on the sheer amount of tea I drink throughout the day - but its hard when a colleague asks who's having one! Can't give up my first thing in the morning brew though, not a chance!

babybrain how did your meal go on saturday? Wink

While we're updating stats I thought I would find the most recent grads list (sorry if anyone from the grads thread is missed off, its the most up to date I could find!) - it shows us just how successful this thread has been, and although it sucks to be last to graduate we will all get there in the end Smile babybrain will wait for you to move yourself over to the grads list (can't wait till I can do that for myself!)

Anyone heard from sleepycaz? red - you're next! Grin

YAY BABYBRAIN!! Grin

I'm sure the question popping will come soon - keep us updated!

Only 7 left on the ttc list - come on girls, lets kill off this thread (in a good way!) Grin

babybrain3 · 30/01/2012 17:29

Ooops forgot to take myself out of the actual stats list-could the next person updating do it for me please??? Thanks Grin

RedRobin36 · 30/01/2012 21:23

Hia ladies! Well the bad news is af showed up today :( but good news is its getting more normal as this cycle was 31 days! thats virtually normal isn't it?? only taken a year to get there! lol, i'm fine though..feeling slightly bummed but i knew it was on its way so it was expected. However i either ovulated earlier than i thought or i had a relatively short LP this month which isn't the best, oh well!

Sorry to hear yours also showed up freedom and impatient, but loving the PMA Freedom i think some has rubbed off onto me :)

I also drink lots of tea Lugsie and 'who wants teeeaaa?!' is a regular saying at work (we even have our own mugs with our own photo on, think we need to get out more Wink) so i'll try cutting down aswell, thanks impatient its worth a try. Do you know if decaffe tea is the same?

Wow that grads list is so long! That must feel amazing being on there finally babybrain!! I'll take you off ttc list :o. Glad you had a nice meal, i bet the big Q will come soon!

ImpatientOne · 31/01/2012 07:38

Aw sorry it showed up Robin but hopefully it means those cycles are settling for you Smile I think the tea thing is the same for decaf as it's the tannin levels not caffeine, which is why it's also in herbal tea.

I will try to find the place I read it before we all go cold turkey on the humble brew!

Lugsie · 31/01/2012 20:01

Sorry to hear about af robin but like you and impatient say at least you have more of an idea about your cycles now so that will hopefully make things easier for you in the future. How exciting that af is due on your birthday - really hope she stays away, what an amazing birthday present a bfp would be! Smile

ImpatientOne · 31/01/2012 22:37

Right! I think I have found the answer to the vicious tea rumours that I started Blush

Apparently tannin can reduce the efficacy of folic acid/iron supplements. So don't take your folic acid or pre-natal vits with your tea - or red wine I suppose Hmm
It all starts to get a bit more serious if you know that you have an iron problem that may be contributing to things such as LP defects, early mc which is why I guess it's very important that some people avoid tannin.

Well that kept me occupied a while waiting for AF to clear off! Hoping for some news from those ladies awaiting AF (or hopefully not!) in early Feb - any signs???

eversomuch · 01/02/2012 09:40

So sorry to hear about the loss of your supergran, robin. Sounds like she had an amazing life, though that doesn't make missing her any easier.

Sorry, too, that AF made an unwelcome appearance -- also for you, freedom and impatient.

I've got one week to go before mine is due. Fx. DH has been knocked flat with the flu but luckily it struck post-ovulation, so we've done our best for this month and now will just have to wait and see what next week brings. :) Sooooo grateful, btw, that I had the foresight to get my flu jab back in September -- I'm feeling fine nearly a week after exposure, so doubt I'll get it. Yay! (Poor DH, though.)

Oh, and about tannin -- yes, it definitely can cause problems with iron absorption. I was very aenemic during my first pg and advised not to take supplements with tea, coffee, etc. I think decaf tea away from supplements is ok, though. I have 1?2 cups/day but am trying to phase it out. It's just such a comfort, isn't it? Especially with this freezing cold weather.

Lugsie · 02/02/2012 17:02

Thanks for clearing up the "tea-gate" issue impatient & ever - as far as I know I have no iron problems so don't think a couple of cups a day should make much difference Grin

FX for next week ever - have you had any symptoms yet?

No real news from me, except for that OV should be this weekend... luckily DH & I have loads planned this weekend including a nice meal on sat, so the swi will hopefully come with a little romance for a change, rather than something we MUST do because I'm ovulating, if you know what I mean! Although it will still be in the back of my mind, just don't tell DH Grin

bella2012 · 03/02/2012 14:34

Hi Ladies! Hope you are all well and have nice plans for the weekend?

So...a week until my AF is due and for some reason I feel convinced that I am not pregnant. Last month I was disappointed (stupidly!) that I hadn't fallen pregnant in the first month of trying as DS was a happy accident. But now that I have realised how tricky it can be, I think I have swung in the other direction! Ah well, time will tell!

FX for you ever! Only a few more days to go. Any symptoms?

ImpatientOne · 03/02/2012 17:37

Hi everyone :) hoping for some good news soon!

I have now done 2 days of testing on my Clearblue Monitor, I like having a stick to pee on everyday Grin and Blush ! It's still showing low fertility which makes perfect sense as it's day 7 for me and I reckon I ovulated on day 15 last month however I am fast convincing myself that my fertility is beyond low and not registering Wink I know I'm being silly! Had to remind myself that just because I'm not super fertile atm we can still DTD Shock

Actually admitted to a friend that we are TTC yesterday - the first person who knows. She asked if I had 'any news' (because obviously being married for over 2 years means I should've popped one out by now) so I told her I'd come off the pill last year but no news yet. I thought she would understand given that it took her 7 years to conceive Hmm

Right here's to a good weekend with some Wine for me - making the most of it!

Have a good one everyone :)

RedRobin36 · 04/02/2012 15:19

Thanks lovely ladies! Sorry i've been AWOL i've had a busy few days.. long days at work, breaks went on my mini..all 4 of them! so had to have them all replaced grrr, and then gave my s.gran a lovely send off yesterday, it all went really well! Thanks ever :) I have annual leave all of this week now though so going to have a nice relax..possibly a shopping day!

Well done on avoiding the flu ever you were very organised! hope your DH is feeling better, and big FX for you for the next couple of days!

Thanks again for clearing up the tea issue impatient! (i say as i have a nice hot one by my side Wink) i think i will purchase some decaf teabags this week just do cut down on caffeine anyway. I forgot that you had your shiny new gadget to play with!..how exciting, so you will be getting your peak soon in the next week or so!..and getting to pee on a stick everyday..you must be in heaven :o. Well done on being brave telling your friend, it must help that it took her that long..she needs a medal! Did it happen naturally for her? I told my closest friend in work a couple of weeks ago as she is planning on coming off her pill in a few months and was asking me all sorts of questions and i couldn't lie to her, shes only the second person i've told!

Hope you enjoy your romantic meal tonight Lugsie and your s(without)i ..kind of Wink i know exactly what you mean! I won't tell Mr Lugsie!

Good luck Bella big FX for you also, maybe it will work in the other way this time and you will get your bfp! I'm having a lazy day today with DF..he fiiiinally starts his new job as a CDO for the police on monday..its taken 3 months for all checks, medicals and what not to be sorted! So making the most of him :) Hope your enjoying your weekend!

Jeez i've written yet another essay..this is what happens when i'm away for a few days..i must learn my lesson!

Wine and Brew to all! xxx

ImpatientOne · 05/02/2012 09:35

Hey Robin Smile ultimately my friend did conceive naturally although she had been for a tube washout before getting pg which may have helped. The thing that happened directly before her BFP was losing weight though Blush she had a bmi around 40 but when she lost a couple of stone she got pg.... May be a coincidence?

CBFM still on low -CD9 - but started SWI anyway as per medical advise Grin My DH (who has been fairly blasé so far) just said 'I can't wait for you to be a Mummy' Smile it was sooooo sweet!

Right off to have a productive day - I hope - icy walk and clearing out junk room/future nursery!

RedRobin36 · 05/02/2012 15:21

Hi impatient, Oh thats brill i bet that was an amazing feeling for her after 7 years! I have no idea what my bmi is although i know i'm a normal weight for my height (5ft2) DF is 6ft3..so maybe our children will turn out normal height! :o

Awwww bless him, thats so lovely :), loving the future nursery..very exciting! That does sound like a productive day.
We are watching the rugby at the mo..well i say watching..DF and FIL shouting at the telly!

P.S Has anyone been watching call the midwife? I love it!

bella2012 · 07/02/2012 12:25

I haven't seen Call the Midwife but everyone is raving about it at work so must watch it this Sun!

Are you having a nice holiday so far Red? Hope so! I am having a crazy busy week at work as it is our school show, but I am quite glad to be so busy as it means that I don't have quite so much time to obsess. (Still doing a fair bit of obsessing sadly!) But not really holding out much hope. I gave in and did an early test this morning which was BFN, but AF not due for another couple of days so it is still possible. Ah well.

Hope everyone is having a good week :-)
