Go Babybrain!! AF over for me too, so I'm giving temping a go, and will be pestering DH as from now! :) I've heard baby news from about 4 different friends this week, seems like there's a bit of a baby boom going on...hope we can all join it. I really wanted to be pregnant before Christmas.

freedom2011 · 11/11/2011 16:01

hmm, something really not quite right here. AF is here AGAIN after just 2.5 weeks. Last AF must have been a fake one. very odd. Will stay at 30 days UCL but who knows what's going on.

freedom2011 (33) TTC#1 Cycle 3 UCL 30 days AF due 10 December

babybrain3 · 11/11/2011 17:32

That happened to me too last cycle.. Weird. Confused

wouldbemumandotherstuff · 13/11/2011 11:48

hey all, hope you're having good weekends. beautiful weather here!

went to the doctor this week. she was very nice, and said that nothing I had told her about my (extremely annoying and over-heavy cycles etc) caused her concern. she's going to get another progesterone test done just to check, but she thinks I'm ovulating ok. and poor DH is going to get his tests done too. he can 'produce his sample' at home and then take it in, keeping it warm! I'm trying to moderate my laughter with sympathy, and he's taking it very well. of course it's serious, but I think we both have a strong sense of how ridiculous some of the practicalities are. I think he'll get a taxi - imagine taking it in your pocket on the bus! Blush

so the doctor recommended trying for a few more months, since my cycles were so irregular in the last year, but set a deadline after which we'll go to the next stage. so I guess by April we'll be putting our names on the waiting list. but after trying some more, the next step is full IVF, which I'm reluctant to go into unless we have it - it's a really big deal! proper medicine, surgery etc, so not going to rush into that. we'll be entitled to 1 cycle on the NHS, and then if we need more, we'll have to find the money.

but for now, I'm assuming we will be successful before it comes to that. Nov went well. lots of SWI at the right time, so FX. am nearly half way into the 2ww now. so if it's next month will be using monitor, OPK sticks and hopefully temping to really try to get this done! treading a fine line between staying positive and preparing myself for this all getting much more complicated.....

sorry, lots about me there. FX for those with tests coming up, and bon voyage for those leaving AF behind!! Wink

CautiousOptimist · 13/11/2011 13:29

Hi all,
Mind if I join you? I've just read through your thread and it sounds like such a familiar rollercoaster - would be wonderful to be able to share it with you all as I think I'm in danger of driving DH and certain friends crazy with talking about it!

It's almost exactly a year since we naiively decided to 'see what happens'. I got my first BFP on cycle 7, had a mmc days before my 12 week scan, jumped back on the wagon after the summer and had a chemical pregnancy last month. Sad.

Sorry, this is a fairly depressing way to introduce myself - but I know from reading your thread that many of you have been through the same and I'm sorry to hear of your losses. You're all still going, still hoping, still shagging, which gives me hope, and as the name suggests I am by nature an Optimist (if a little Cautious after the last year).

Good luck everyone. We'll get there. Sorry for the long post!

Here are my stats:

CautiousOptimist (29) TTC#1 Cycle 12 UCL 28-32 days AF due 10 December

wouldbemumandotherstuff · 13/11/2011 14:12

welcome CautiousOptomist! delighted to have you with us and hoping your stay is short! Smile we also have a lovely graduates thread for all those who have gradated from this thread but didn't want to say goodbye to friends made - so let's hope we'll all be on there soon!

DH and I started trying about a year ago too, and I very foolishly assumed it would all happen very quickly...... I got excited about a positive OPK stick this month - my first positive anything!

so share anything you like - rants welcome if you need to get it off your chest. we always have Brew and Cake and Wine for those got by AF. welcome!!

mrssparky · 13/11/2011 21:52

Welcome CautiousOptimist I also hope your stay here is short! I've stopped talking to friends about ttc, as I'm sick of them asking if I've done a test, gets me down! So I'm really grateful to have this place to vent! :)
I'm cd 7 now so still early days, have been temping and charting, lets me feel like I'm doing something.

CautiousOptimist · 14/11/2011 20:03

Thanks for the welcome! I'm right at the beginning of a cycle - cd6 today - so feeling quite positive.
Can I ask how much Wine or whatever you drink, if anything? I'm not a big drinker but tend to drink 'normally' for me until a few days before ovulation which if I'm going out a few times that week might be 4-6 units. Wondering whether I'd be better off giving up altogether. What do you reckon?
The coffee however... no way I'm doing without that!
Hope everyone's had a good day.

mrssparky · 14/11/2011 20:52

I don't drink at all, just because I don't like it, so sorry I cant help. I don't see it making much difference to whether you conceive or not though. This last month I even tried to cut down on the caffeine, but it didn't work. :( Ooh you're in about same place in your cycle as me....hope we both (all) get BFPs this month!!
Anyone anywhere near testing day yet?xx

peapop · 14/11/2011 21:11

Hi ladies, just a quick one I'm afraid and possibly a tmi Hmm I'm on cd34 (post mc so in for the long run this month) and fertility friend says I'm 8dpo. Today I have had a lot of ewcm and I mean a lot!! I've definitely had a rise in temp so I think I trust fertility friend that I ovulated on cd26 but where has this ewcm come from?? I've never had this much before. Anyone else had this? Is it just my body going a bit loopy after mc?

wouldbemumandotherstuff · 14/11/2011 21:40

I've never been a big drinker, and I've cut back a lot. I have a bit when AF is actually here (not usually more than 1 small glass of wine for maybe 2 or 3 nights, if it's the weekend, maybe not if it's in the week - but possibly 2 glasses the first day!), but stop as soon as that's tailing off, so by CD 3 or 4, and don't have any the rest of the month. For one thing, my tolerance limits have plummeted!

I'm finding cutting back on the coffee is harder! I know you can have some, but I'm trying to limit it. I only drink coffee at the weekend now, and I'm switching to rooibos (don't know how to spell it) and other caffeine-free teas for some of my tea-drinking (I drink a lot of tea!) DH has also cut his alcohol right back, but nothing would tear him away from his coffee! but coffee in the week is my treat when AF turns up!

peapop I have had that this month. had a really clear OPK stick, and then loads of EWCM about a week later, which made no sense, but then my cycles never do, so I just assumed it was being as stupid as usual. don't know why it happens, though. sorry I can't help more.

CD21 here. had my blood test taken. not sure when I'm going to try to hold out til before I test. Sunday would be my earliest test date, but I might try to wait until Tues/Wed of next week.

CautiousOptimist · 15/11/2011 17:26

Thanks for thoughts on drinking - think I'll stick to the odd Wine at beginning of cycle. Tis nearly Christmas after all!
peapop I had that last month - but like you I've mc recently so assumed it was just my body being a bit confused.

peapop · 16/11/2011 18:59

Def my body being weird, af got me today and at only 9 dpo too Sad

babybrain3 · 17/11/2011 07:16

Have a glass of wine peapop and keep your chin up, your body is probably just getting back to normal, I'm sure it will sort itself out soon....Smile

mrssparky · 20/11/2011 20:12

wouldbe did you do a test today?? x

wouldbemumandotherstuff · 21/11/2011 13:50

hi mrssparky. did a test yesterday and BFN, and then AF got me last night and have had really bad cramps this morning. Sad oh, well. it's all about next month now!

babybrain3 · 21/11/2011 14:46

Good luck for next month wouldbe I'm holding out for a new year BFP, were moving house on 17th Dec so am kind of (dare i say it) hoping we don't get one this month, I will need all the energy I can get for moving. Would be happy if I did get it this month though obviously! Grin how's everyone else getting on? It's been a bit quiet in here!!

mrssparky · 21/11/2011 15:47

Sorry to hear that Wouldbe. :(
I'm on CD 17 bot not Ov'ed yet. Has anyone tried Pre seed? Does it make any difference to conceiving? I have bought some to try this month.
Ooh all the best with moving babybrain, so close to Christmas! Yeah I agree you'll need all the energy you can muster for all the packing and unpacking!!

babybrain3 · 22/11/2011 07:21

I know mrssparky we were supposed to be moving on the 5th but the landlord accepted another months rent from the current tenants, so we can't move now til 17th Angry I was not amused. We are going to sign a contract tomorrow so that they can't do it again. I'm really excited about moving though the house is so much nicer than where we are now! Grin and lots of extra space for when we need a nursery!!! GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

cherrypiew3 · 22/11/2011 09:44

Hello

Can I join you ladies pleaseSmile

cherrypiew3 (30) TTC#4 cycle 2

Not sure what to put for when AF is due I normally have a 32/33 day cycle and this month it was 28 days.Hmm
At the moment we are just taking a relaxed approach to TTC this has normally worked well for us in the past. However if Af is not going to play nice I might invest in some opk's.

Lugsie · 22/11/2011 15:16

Hi ladies, just a quick hello as haven't managed to get on here for a while, all our spare time has been spent trying to finish the decorating we wanted done before xmas- starting to regret it now though!!

Hope everyone is well - good luck with the move babybrain!

Welcome to all the newbies!

Af is due today for me but nothing yet! However although I'm usually around 30-32 days (on day 31 today) I've had cycles anything up to 38 days in the last few months so trying to wait a couple more days before testing if af doesn't show up first.

Fx for everyone else about to test- this thread is due a bfp!!

babybrain3 · 22/11/2011 16:09

Hi cherry did it take long to get you bfps before? I love that you are having a big family, Grin what ages are your dc?

babybrain3 · 22/11/2011 16:10

Good luck with decorating lugsie I am gutted as I won't be able to put the Xmas secs up til really late... Sad

mrssparky · 22/11/2011 17:32

Hello cherrypie, welcome. I'm in similar boat to you, ttc #4, but because it hasn't happened as quick this time as previously I have invested in opk's and I am recording my temps this month.
Have you not tested at all this month Lugsie? Hope I can be strong and hold out!! Got my positive opk today! :)

cherrypiew3 · 22/11/2011 20:33

Hi Babybrain It did not take me long last time to get my BFPs. This time however I am a little older, overweight and dh works nights so think it will take a little longer might not be a bad thing though we are about to move house so for the moment I am ok taking things as they come. What about you did you conceive quickly with your dc? Mine are 9,7 and 5.

Mrssparky I am so glad that I have found somebody else ttc#4 Grin
