Morning everyone :)

Congratulations lolfactor , hope you slept well

I was thinking what are peoples stance on drinking ? I have been reading too much as well and am now convinced I had mc because of drinking in lead up to Christmas and before I found out I was pregnant. There is a thread on here about going to dentist and 2ww and it does feel like you put your life on hold two weeks of each month.

Fed up today, 3 weeks today since mc but feel a bit bloated and pmtish

How are things with you jolls ?

x

hippychick66 · 16/02/2011 10:02

Laughed at the term statistic headfuck - so right jolly. I was told one in 4 chance when i was preg at 43 but now am thinking 50/50 - cos it's probably more realistic - BUT that means that there is just as much chance of it working out as it not working out so we must not forget that.

I think statistics are all well and good but we are real people and each embryo is different. I don't think you'll need progesterone lol - 1) it needs to be started earlier than you are and 2) IF you were to MC it would almost defo be down to a dodgy embryo (basing this on your age and the fact that you've had 3 successful pregnancies). My lovely GP is always saying to me that my body knows what to do and it's done it before and the only reason I lost the 2 pregnancies was chromosonal problems with the embryos - so NOTHING could have been done to change that. I honestly do believe that. Hang on in there, one day at a time.

Well I got the Smile on an OPK yesterday (freaky just how in-synch me and diege are!!) I felt rough and he felt rough too but we are dedicated to our cause and managed a surprisingly successful SWI Blush.

I usually get ov pains 2 days after the positive so will try again today and tomorrow - even though i feel like shit [dedicated martyr face].

I have worked out that if I ovulate when i think i will I will defo be in line for a 11.11.11 baby - how cool is that. I know that Georgie was 10.10.10 lou so I hope all this inane banter about dates isn't upsetting you (sorry if it is).

nicole sorry to hear you're emotionally drained and tired - get some sleep and then pop back for a Brew.

Just a quick note to the new people - there are so many of you, I'm getting confused Confused. I know lol is the preggers one and panache had an MC recently and is with a new man (sounds exciting). But I am confused about some of the others. Next time you post can you do a quick resume of how many kids you have and if you've had any losses (unless it makes you too sad to discuss, of course) and if you can bare to do it can you add your age please. Then I can study up and remember you all. I hate to look rude and only talk to the old timers like that bloody jolls Grin

muchlove how are you, my dear?

I was in an oxfam shop recently and saw little home made knitted hats for prem babies. I was laughing cos I had boys with big heads (ouch) and they would never have fitted those hats on. Anyway, by the power of cyber space I have virtually bought one and virtually sent it to lunatic's little lad. Speaking of that, someone else must be coming up for a 20 week scan (she who can not be named). How are you ??

hippychick66 · 16/02/2011 10:05

Took me so long to write my essay that i crossed with two of you - sorry. lou I am having a Brew as well - thinking of you - mwah mwah.

lol I agree with Lou - you've otta be in it to win it and you're in it lovie!

hippychick66 · 16/02/2011 10:07

panashe please don't blame yourself for the MC - I'm sure drinking in the lead up to Xmas didn't do anything. It's just unfortunate that some pregnancies don't work out. Sorry you're feeling crap ((()))

BeattieBow · 16/02/2011 10:10

Hi all. jolls I am getting very excited on your behalf - have you resisted tested?

Very impressed with your swi hippy! I'm only cd8 and still showing low on the monitor, but will start the smep tonight. dh has already primed me for it! (after we've shredded of course).

dh was speaking about how miserable he was in his job last night, (and it really does make him low and negative), so we have decided that he will phone a recruitment consultant today about jobs in London. if he goes for that we will have to decide if we move back to London or not (I commute there already, and can't see how we both can). It's quite scary really, but I love London and would be happy to live back there, but still schools, houses, friends eek!

Anyway, better get some work done now I suppose.

SameOldJollster · 16/02/2011 10:12

I love you hippy, even when you're under the weather you're still a breath of fresh air...:)

Well it's CD28 in the Jollsterhouse. No spotting now for 4 days. Will test on Friday if it stays the same. Trying not to get excited that it might be a BFP as even if it is it's such a long and difficult road ahead. BUT of course I hope it is.

Off to get DS feet measured and I expect new shoes. Last time was awful and he had a terrible tantrum. Have been talking to him about it over the last few days to prepare him, therefore am so hoping this is less painful!!!

Back later xx

SameOldJollster · 16/02/2011 10:15

XP BB.

Sorry to hear DH unhappy. Funny, DP hates commuting to London, and is so much happier at the moment as on unpaid leave for a few months to get the house renovations completed. But we would never move to London, even when we both worked up there. How long have you been in sunny B?

Am shoe shopping in your neck of the woods shortly and will prob go to your local park for a bit of a respite!

panashe · 16/02/2011 10:26

Just to remind you hippy I have four dc from previous relationship when I was in my twenties.

I am now 41, had 1 mc. Yes have new man which is exciting ( especially as he ten years younger ;) )the flip side is he would like us to have two children Hmm

SameOldJollster · 16/02/2011 10:30

it's ok panashe they're on BOGOF at Waitrose at the mo... Grin

panashe · 16/02/2011 10:40

well its either that or have twins Shock

hippychick66 · 16/02/2011 10:41

I want one that's 10 years younger Envy Envy. Not really DH Smile.

Just watched Monday's Episode of Episodes. Matt LeBlanc is aging well Hmm

Love you too Jolly - not sure what I did to be a breath of fresh air but am always grateful for a bit of love Grin

Message to little Jolly - It's only shoes, you'll be ok, be good for Mummy! There that's that sorted.

BB Just wanna tell you that jolls is sooo stalking you. Wow moving to London, a big decision. Whereabouts would you go? - or do you wanna keep it a secret. I'm trying to move to a less busy area and you're doing the opposite. Keep us posted.

hippychick66 · 16/02/2011 10:43

panashe you have time for 2 more kids. Remember fifi came on the other day and told us she had one child at 42 and one at 46 - it's do-able Grin

Thanks for the up-date I will remember you now - promise!

panashe · 16/02/2011 10:48

Not sure my body would agree with you hippy but dp does have dd so I might be off hook, on otherhand I may embrace motherhood so much second time round that I copulate indefinately Grin

BeattieBow · 16/02/2011 10:54

Hi Jolls I was in that very shoe shop on Saturday. had to remortgage after buying 2 lots of school shoes and some shoes for ds2. Bought him some very cute little kickers though - lovely! (and velcro so easy to get on and off).

Envious of you in my park! I'm stuck at work grr. (beware mud there, we had to leave early after a mud-bath incident!). We've been in B since summer 2006. Missed London for ages afterwards and really wanted to move back. Not so sure now!

panashe they do say twins are more likely the older you get. I'm slightly concerned that I may get twins if I go on clomid eek!

hippy job search very early days so not making plans yet. I suppose one plus side would be that he could get such a huge salary increase that I could give up work and stay put! But that's not likely, so we'll play it by ear. We'd have to go somewhere quite cheap if we did move back! It could be that it just makes him appreciate what he's got and decides to stay where he is.

hippychick66 · 16/02/2011 11:02

Grin at little BB in his velcro kickers - ahh bless him.

Hope it all works out for you BB - I know it's early days.

My DH is always telling me we are gonna have twins - he had a vision!!! (Not his usual thing, i hasten to add).

TinaO99 · 16/02/2011 11:50

hi hippy I have one daughter who's 20 this year from my first marriage, I have had one very early MC/chemical pregnancy since starting to try for a second child last september, my husband actually left me for a while last aug bank holiday, a few days after he left I found I was pregnant then lost it a few days later, could have been the stress but more likely something wrong with it, when we got back together (after a horrible few months for both of us) in november, we started trying again properly in December

never thought I'd feel so devastated when I had an MC but i think I thought at the time the pregnancy would bring my husband back to me, probably for the best since i would't have wanted him to come back for the wrong reasons (well they were right sort of but i wanted him to want me too!) Things are wonderful now and we appreciate each other so much more but I still feel very anxious about him straying again at some point in the future despite the strength of our marriage now and I wonder if this is having a detrimental affect on my ability to conceive :-(

louisesh · 16/02/2011 12:11

No Hippy the talk of 11/11/11 is not upsetting me.Please don t worry!!! Wink.Anyhow seeing as we are ALL going to get our bfps this month some of you can have 11/11/11 babies.I would be having GBOS at 37 weeks so my edd would be middle of October. So thats ok!!!

JollS have you nerves of steel? no testing up to this point well done that girl!!! XX

Tina I know "they" say stress doesn t help when ttc but my understanding is it only hinders when it gets to the point where the stress is causing you problems ovulating. So don t worry.X

Panashe take care of yourself....3 weeks is only a short period of time.No you didn t do anyhting wrong by having a few drinks befor you knew.If we put everything on hold we 'd never do anyhting,If you [as in us] as going to mc we are its destined!!!!! I did everything right with Georgie no drinks bar 1 small glass of champagne at my sisters wedding in Aug and shes still not here. Not saying next time i'd piss it up the wall but until i know i ll keep haveing a couple of cheeky vinos!!!!

Oh this was only suppose to be a short post!!!!!

Oh Hippy yeh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!for smiley face.....we are all virtually in synch , well done on swi xxxx BB ,s only a couple of days behind also!!!!

BeattieBow · 16/02/2011 12:45

I'm not getting my bfp this month. I'll get mine next month because I like to inflict January birthdays on my children (2 so far poor things!).

and it'll probably be twins too after I take clomid!
and I'll be in Vietnam when I find out/start feeling crap/start worrying about miscarriage.

but you can all get yours this month.

starting with Jolls

hippychick66 · 16/02/2011 13:31

tina I have put all your info in my brain and will remember you now Wink.

I agre that stress can only effect TTC if it actally stops you ovulating. Once you've ov'd and the sperm (troops) are in place then it's up to them whether they make a baby or not. People conceive in bloody war-zones FFS!!!!

Sorry to hear you've had a huge hiccup in your marriage - it sounds like it is back on track now. Does your 20 year old know you're trying for a baby sis or bro???

lou Grin would hate to think I was upsetting you, Mrs. XXX

Curlylox · 16/02/2011 14:06

Just dropping by to say hello and welcome to tina. Will catch up with you all very very soon Smile

OP posts:
TinaO99 · 16/02/2011 15:44

hey hippy yes she does and sh'e appalled lol, says she's going to leave home if I have one as everyone will think she's the mother, I'm insulted as I don't think I look that old

you've all given me such comfort thankyou so much, was beginning to think it never happens to anyone over the age of 40, stupid I know as it obviously does

am thinking now though that there may be an issue with the soldiers but hubby is going to dr's next week to get a sample checked, he smokes quite heavily and if that is affecting him I'm not sure if he'll be willing or able to give up despite the fact he's desperate to have a child too!

hi to curly and thanks to louise too!

SameOldJollster · 16/02/2011 20:10

hey Tina, be scared. Hippy's got you on her radar...Grin. Agree on the stress thing. Hope all gets calmer.

Have had a really lovely day today, helped by some really smashing south coast weather. DS was an angel in the shoe shop, and had his feet measured like a pro! Of course he didn't need any shoes!!!!! Can't believe his feet haven't grown since end September!! She said that was common? Don't grow much in winter, do in summer?? Anyway, saved me some cash as it's not exactly a cheap shop (as you say BB), but good to support independents, and Clarks not much cheaper tbh. Then we had a smashing time in the park, and the cafe for lunch. Then our weekly music session which was quiet today (illness about) and DS loved the smaller group. Then the station for some trainspotting (typical boy!). Then home for fun play, supper, stress free bath and bed... all really lovely.

In other news, bastard witch evil period arrived full blown in about 2 hours...! What was that all about???? Have never had a pattern like that. 3 days of really light occasional spotting, then 3 days of nothing, then wham bam here I am! Anyway I'm not too disappointed, I've just opened some wine and will now enjoy a little flurry of birthdays coming up in the next week.

I make it 2 more chances to have a 2011 baby. Here's hoping Hmm.

TipTopTank · 16/02/2011 21:17

Oh poo jolly that's crap. Glad you had a nice day otherwise though.

BB Brighton is much nice than London - hands down...

So excited everyone is doing "The Plan". Flicked back and noticed a discussion about missing the day after ov and that being signficant - am sure that is where we were going wrong. Before we did "The Plan" I was so focused on swi for days and days that by the time I got the ov pain, I usually gave up. Yet, when we did the EMSp, I was getting the pos opk on the day before ov pain. So that meant we were swi day before pain, day of ov pain and the day after. I'm pretty sure I was pg both months we did the plan anyway...

Thanks Hippy 20 weeks today - we are popping down to London next week for a anomaly scan.

lunatics wee one will no doubt appreciate the hat. He is out of special care now, and his name is Lewis. Gives you a little warm glow, doesn't it Smile

Fingers crossed for everyone!

(Waves at all the new people)

BeattieBow · 16/02/2011 21:33

Am so pleased for you TTT - will you find out the sex?

Sad jolls but good L P , are you taking stuff for that?

Sorry am typing on iPad it's not easy it keeps auto correcting me!

It's funny you said that about day after ov TTT as I had just been thinking that and that I would carry on this month. Well that's a long way away only cd8.

Good luck Tina I had also heard about stress just stopping ovulation not conception.

Dh is seeing recruitment person on Friday. He thinks there aren't many jobs out there which will help us stay in B but not do much for his misery about his job.

lolfactor · 16/02/2011 22:24

Panache so sorry - it's the first I've read about your mc. I don't know about you, but I'm clinging on to the post about Fifi. 46! We've all got time yet. My partner (7 years younger) also wants 2 children - he's going to have to settle for 1. If this little bean sticks, I'm going to count my blessings and kick some babydust over someone else's way.

Jolls what a bummer. But it means you can get started again asap. Fresh 11.11.11 hope!

all thanks for your support and advice. Stats are now officially banned from the house. Fingers crossed for the anomaly scan. Let us know how it goes.
