jane313, I've not had any treatment for low progesterone yet - my GP is referring us to a gynaecologist - I hope there'll be an appointment waiting for me when we get back from holiday. I had my first blood test last cycle, and the GP said normally they would take further tests over the next few months to establish a pattern, but given my age, and the evidence I already have from my temperature charts he would refer us right away. I have got hold of some progesterone cream from my sister-in-law (who had the same problem), and tried that this cycle.

compo - your CM will go through different stages as you approach your fertile time. When it becomes "egg-white" like (clear and very stretchy), that is when you are most fertile. You'll see that referred to here as EWCM sometimes. There's some good information about this on the fertility friend website - click here .

Iamblossom, it could be a little early to test. I think the early response type HPTs are designed to give a possible positive only a few days before your period is due, and some people don't get a positive even out of early tests until after they were due. The waiting can be a killer, but hang in there, and remember it's only a real negative if AF shows.

Hugs,
Artoo.

jane313 · 18/11/2005 00:11

thanks artoo. I am waiting for a referal too. Did the cream work for your sister-in-law?

compo · 18/11/2005 09:39

thanks for the info guys - that Fertility Friend website is realy useful (and a bit of an eye opner - who would have thought there was so much to CM!!)

Artoo · 18/11/2005 10:31

compo - yeah - 6 months ago I had no clue about CM, now I'm rattling off information about it like a pro! Who'd have thunk!

Jane313 - it's hard to tell exactly what worked for my sister in law in the end - she thinks it was most likely the accupuncture she was getting (her accupuncturist could tell she was pregnant several days before she got a +ve HPT!), although for the cycle she got pregnant on she was also taking agnus castus and some other herbs, and using the progesterone cream.

Hugs,
Artoo.

Thanks Artoo, I will just have to wait and see. I am not going to buy anymore tests until after AF is due to stop pointless testing, I knew it was too blooming early. The test was in the cupboard shouting at me.

Hi all just checking in, i'm on cd25 and started spotting not even due on till tuesday.I knew there was not much chance this month due to the lack of bd'ing.

I agree with others that its probably too earlt to test iamblossom but fingers crossed.

JAG123 · 18/11/2005 18:38

Sorry about AF starting Puppy

jane313 · 20/11/2005 07:53

I keep thinking of trying acupuncture except it never worked on my psoriasis but it make help me relax. Thre caution to the wind last night and had wine, irish coffee and beer. So if I was pregnant the poor little 3-celled blighter would be kncoked for 6.

andyrobo237 · 20/11/2005 21:41

Evening ladies- a bit quiet here over weekend-too much bd'ing or xmas shopping!!
Today is CD 26 so AF due in next 2 to 4 days - no sysmptoms of any kind either way, but when cleaning uptoday found 1 pg test which is now 'calling me' from the cupboard! I will be strong and resist - I know it is not worth it but you know what serial pg testing is like!!!
Oh well- see what tomorrow brings!

puppy · 21/11/2005 10:39

Good Morning all,

blimey it has been quiet through the weekend, Try to resist andyrobo.
As for me i'm on CD2 af started properly yesterday, i was expecting it to though as we had a bad tummy bug in the family during ov time, fingers crossed for this cycle.
Staceym11 hows things going for you?
How is everyone else anybody due for testing?

IamBlossom · 21/11/2005 11:51

Morning. On CD35/36 and have had stomach cramps since yesterday morning so AF due any minute I should think. Just comforted myself with 'NORMOUS piece of fruitcake and chocolatey cappuchino. Only thing for it when it's cold and AF is on her way......

jane313 · 21/11/2005 12:13

I am not due af for a week. And have started eating peanut butter which I avoided last time I was pregnant. Its one of my sad double bluff ploys to make it happen. But I suppose it won't if I'm not ovulating and will have to wait many months for a hospital appointment.

Just got an odd email from a friend who lives abroad. I had't told her I was ttc until my last email and I poured my heart out about it and then got no response at all. Feels a bit odd.

Feeling very down about it today as I am also waiting for a breast clinic appointment as I have found my second lump in 2 years. The last one was fine but this one feels very different and I can't believe I will be that lucky twice.

Will got the gym and take my son swimming after lunch. Hopefully those endorphins will cheer me up.

compo · 21/11/2005 12:26

Really sorry to hear that Jane313 I was out partying in London this weekend so now bd'ing unfortuntely. No idea when AF will turn up this month - should be end of the month but cycle was so long last time that it's all a bit up in the air!!

IamBlossom · 21/11/2005 12:27

Jane313 - I feel proper guilty now, feeling down over AF when you have that lot on your plate. I am sure this second lump is also nothing to worry about, why can't you be lucky twice? You may just be prone to getting benign lumps that you will have to get checked out each and every time. Keep your chin up, you are doing the right thing.

homemama · 21/11/2005 13:54

Hi girls, sorry i haven't posted recently but as we're taking a couple of months off, I felt I didn't have much to say.
Good luck with testing Andyrobo. Sorry to hear about your worries, Jane. Hopefully everything will be fine this time too. Hope things are easier at work now, Jen. They sound so unsupportive.
I'm on CD2 and this will be the last month of not trying. We could try this month as if we did catch I'd only be 4wks at Christmas so not sick yet but that would mean a late August birthday which I'd like to try and avoid if possible. So, I'm aiming for the OV time between Christmas and NY. It's been really hard waiting but I want to join in with DS's excitment this year.

Hello. Am cautiously hoping to join your thread if that is OK. Af is due end Nov, so will be starting TTC next month.

I was pregnant earlier in the year but found out at our 12 week scan that our baby had Patau's syndrome which is incompatible with life, so I had a termination in August. The hospital usually say just wait for one period and try again, but have had to wait for the results of a smear test before we could try. Results came through last week and luckily this was normal-I had treatment for dodgy cells earlier in the year, so had been very worried I would not get a clear result.

Determined to just enjoy the whole TTC thing and not get stressed, after all we have been through. However, do feel a bit of time pressure because we've already conceived a baby with a chromosonal problem and it is possible my cervical problems will recur. Need to get my baby making out of the way!

I am 31, DH is 33 and we have a DD who is 2- really looking forward to enjoying Xmas with her.

Anyway, after all that rambling hope I am on the right thread!!

puppy · 22/11/2005 14:24

jane keeping my fingers crossed for you, i'm sure it will be ok this time too.

Hello homemama look like we are in sync i'm on cd3, just out of interest why do you not want a late august birthday?

major moo, welcome to the thread sorry to hear of your recent experience, i did read your thread on the m/c board but i'm afraid i were stuck for words as i had no experience. Good luck with ttc next month .

Hi Puppy. I didn't mean to cause offence to anyone with an August baby. It's because I'm a teacher and most teachers I know try to have babies between Sept and Feb as it means when they go to school they are really ready. In an infant class you can very often see a difference between an autumn baby and a late summer baby. Those who have only just turned 4 seem so little still.
Of course, for people having trouble conceiving that's not really an important issue. Sorry.

jane313 · 22/11/2005 15:07

thanks for the good thoughts everyone. Its a waiting game now. My last one turned out to be fat necrosis (sp?) a sort of calcium deposit. But nothing to do with breastfeeding. very odd.

Welcome majormoo. One of my friends had a termination last year cos of chromosonal problems, edwards syndrome I think. That was after one very normal pregnancy and one missed miscarraige. She is now due to pop next year.

normsknockers, my friend had +ve with an ov kit on day 7. Shes now pregnant!

homemama I used to teach reception and the august birthdays often seemed so young but generally I found there was so many that bucked that trend. I really wanted a spring summer baby as its so much easier clothing wise. I loved having my june baby as you could just wheel him from inside to outside without having to take off snowsuits for fear of overheating. And am looking forward to garden based birthday parties. Still the rate I'm going I may have one in Spring 2007!

majormoo · 22/11/2005 15:39

my dd is an August baby. She was born at the start of that heatwave in 2003-I was too scared to take her outside for a couple of weeks as it was so hot.

But it is good being able to have BBQs etc for her birthday.

She will be so young when she starts school though. The local school takes all the kids in 1 intake in September, so she will be just 4. Oh well, when she can be smug when all her friends turn 30 and she is still 29!!

IamBlossom · 22/11/2005 19:11

Normsnockers - answer is no...AF is not here yet. On day CD 36/of what I thought was 36.... tres strange. Have had period pains since Saturday night, and am expecting it any moment, but no sign as yet...I expect it wil show tomorrow, or perhaps in another weeks time which will make this the 4th different cycle length in as many months. Not sure how on earth I'm going to calculate ovulation dates if that is the case!!!

My DS's b'day is September 11th, not a date anyone is likely to forget in a hurry. I was so hopeful of a sunny day for his first birthday this year but it was a bit of a damp squib, still the gazillion children running around screaming didn't seem too perturbed. Total mayhem!

JAG123 · 22/11/2005 20:23

Hi All

CD18 for me & green light on Persona so into the 2ww for me. Not very hopeful as only bd just before ov & not during but you never know.

Welcome Marthmoo very sorry to hear about your recent heartache.

Norms - I think that i got a red early on but is first month with Persona so don't know if that makes a difference.

Jane I'm sorry to hear about your recent worries. I'm sure it will be nothing as 9 of 10 Breast Lumps are usually not serious. I do know though how horrible it is to wait to be seen & get results. Unfortunately mine did turn out to be cancer but i'm here now 4.5yrs clear & on the TTctreadmill. Please keep chasing up your appointment for some reason they don't always rush them when you are younger. Sending you positive thoughts. If you want to cat me you are most welcome

hope everyone else is ok where are all the BFPs?

andyrobo237 · 22/11/2005 21:23

Evening all - well today is CD29 or a usal 29 to 31 day cycle -so who knows!! Resisted the pg test in the cupboard -hope to wait until fri/sat as af should have come by then - no symptoms of anything at all except tiredness and loss of appetite - probably due to weather!

Will report intomorrow!!!
