hi lazyeye. ov should (theoretically) happen on day 14 of your cycle. (day one being the day you start your period). Some people feel a pain in the side which can be an indication, although this doesnt happen just on the day of ov. others take temp and the day after ov has taken place, there is a clear rise in temp. needs a few months of this though to find your ov time, as waiting for a temp rise is then too late! others take OPKs, (ov prediction kits) which you can buy from chemists and supermarkets. you test your urine every day from about day 11 of your cycle and wait for a positive result, which happens about 24 hours before you are due to ov.
BUT, if you dont want to do any or all of this, suggest you bd days 10 - 17 every other day. You cant really miss it then! good luck!

Well, I wasn't exactly trying to get pregnant but... am now at least a week late but pregnancy test says no go. Weirdly, best mate is also going through phantom pregnancy - ten days late but no positive test. Just been to a kids party where one of the mums said she didn't get a positive test until about six weeks in. Are we about to get the surprise of our lives? Let me know your thoughts!

bossykate · 19/09/2003 21:04

willow, not sure what to say, but i hope it is congratulations whatever the outcome!

jodee · 19/09/2003 21:15

Ditto to that, Willow!

I'm on day 20 with large, tender boobs, but that could mean anything ...

caydeb · 21/09/2003 06:04

I haven't checked in with these threads for about a month and pleased to see progress unfortunately I had a m/c and felt I couldn't face all here, have been coping fairly well until today and now can't stop crying, dont know if keep getting the when r u gonna get pregnant again speech from all my co-workers as my son is 2 this week that is really bothering me or what.

Egypt · 21/09/2003 14:16

oh caydeb. so sorry to hear about your m/c, how far were you? hope you find that you can cope as time goes on and do come here and chat with anyone whenever you need to.

Hi
I had a mc last year it does get easier as time goes on. You would be surprised how common mc is so many people I spoke to had had one. Thankfully I got pregnant 4 months after miscarrying.

Wid · 21/09/2003 21:05

I've been reading this thread with amazement over the last week as I never realised how little I knew about getting pregnant! The information contained here is better than any text book, so thank you all for sharing so much. I do have one question, however. I got the double blue line on the Clearblue OPK stick yesterday morning and pain around the ovary area this moring. We've been making love since yesterday lunchtime (not continuously!) and, quite frankly, I'm shattered; when can we stop without jeopardising this month's attempt?

Bogwoppit · 22/09/2003 15:17

where is everyone? it has been quiet on here the last few days

mollymay · 22/09/2003 16:14

I'm quiet cause I've nothing to report. I'm waited until next week when AF should be due so will have more news then. Don't feel preggas and convinced I'm not but you never know...

Egypt · 22/09/2003 18:10

hi all. oh bogwoppit, how awful....havent read the thread yet. wit - dont overdo it! we bd the day b4 getting 2 lines and then the day after. was worried i'd missed it, having not done it on the actual day got the lines, but fell preg.

Morning everyone - this thread is getting slower and slower - where has everyone disappeared to?

Got my new mammas and pappas catalogue yesterday - DP and I have picked out everything from the buggy, the crib, the moses basket, the cot, the travel cot, the nursery furniture, the bedding, the curtains, the wallpaper!

Dp shouted at me for looking at it without him last nite - bless!

Anyway, how is everyone any special news anywhere?

lazyeye · 23/09/2003 09:08

No news, waiting to see if I 'feel' like I'm ov - should be about now as period 2 weeks ago tomorrow - but nothing. Was me first for over a year, convinced I'm starting the menopause (am 35 going on 36)

Ain't it really autumny this morning? Can't get that Darkness song out me head........

mollymay · 23/09/2003 09:26

the time between OV and AF is just the longest time! I hate waiting...! I wish we could test straight after bding - it would all be a lot more stressful!! I was telling a friend that we are trying and she said that at my age (37) women don't ovulate every month? i was surprised cause I'm using the OV test kits and keep getting my two blue lines.. could I have got the lines even if I wasn't ovulating?

Bogwoppit · 23/09/2003 09:36

test results on fri - got it wrong.seems like forever.
gonna enjoy my bday tomorrow. hve a baby sitter & going out for a meal.

is quackers on hol now? I think she said something about going away. quackers is that right? - we'll know if she doesn't reply!

BigBird · 23/09/2003 09:37

hi all - back from hols and I see no new positives at all

None for me either....and I had a wicked AF....I won't go into detail but the heaviest I ever had and was glad I was away as I couldn't have been in work.

anyhow - contemplating going to the Doc this month to get 'checked out'. This whole ttc gets tiresome after a while, doesn't it ?!
Hope Quacks is enjoying her holiday and the rest of you are all bding away!

aloha · 23/09/2003 10:43

Mollymay - your friend doesn't know what she's talking about!

madgirl · 23/09/2003 14:32

hello everyone, well jemma7 and twiglett as they know me here. i've gone quiet as i am waiting for af, and don't feel up the duff AT ALL so really want to get AF and go for it again! by the way i used clearblue for 8 days and never got an LH surge - for 2 days i got a faint line but all the other times nothing. huh? sorry to see no other good news. i also decided that if i chatted on this thread all the time it would make me very neurotic about ttc, as opposed to just neurotic, which is what i am in general, so i stopped for a while. however, i am just as pre-occupied - SO I AM BACK!

madgirl · 24/09/2003 10:32

Hello!? where is everyone? twiglett have you permanently moved to the preg thread?
