Hi. I have been looking around for advice here and realise there is a wealth of knowledge here, but I'm newish to the site and I don't understand all the terms especially around conception.

I've got two dcs and would like no 3. Both dcs took a while to conceive and I've had 2 mc in-between. But I'm a bit paranoid and I don't like to plan ttc too much, but as I'm 40 and would like no 3, I think I need some help to increase my chances!

So wise mumsnet. I've just started my period when is the best time for conception, tips etc. I'm also keen to have a boy so any old wives tales about that I'm willing to try although of course I'll be ecstatic with whatever I get so don't all jump down my throat about being choosy.

It is a bit tricky for me as he is a Dr. Not a lady dr and am not really sure how much of that side of things he remembers - don't think he has done any obs and gynae since med school. It is very annoying though as he just thinks we need to make sure we have regular SWI and seems to feel that missing a few days won't hurt our chances - hence my not enlightening him about the pant snot today. I guess it depends on the stamina of his swimmers then. No pressure...
