August - first month of TTC? Join me!

Hiya,

I put August as its a little late for July!

I'm TTC number 4(!)

Due to test on the 15th August but don't think we have much chance this month as its only our first and DH has been ill for a few days and now I've got the bug, so not much romance happening!

So just wonderded if anyone is just starting TTC and wanted to join me?

Sick is a good thing now lol!! Hopefully you won't actually be sick though :)

I know what you mean about not dare telling your Dad. Even though been with DH over 13 years, when I told them I was pregnant, he was over the moon, even though I had just admitted I had had sex LMAO! (He's not that naive lol, just strange telling your parents about been trying to get pregnant and all that :) )

Feeling good here, so excited about our scan tomorrow. DH is as involved as he possibly can be, but when it comes to scans and MW appt etc, he feels so much more involved

I know! I have been with my DP for 10 years but have only been living together for 2 years. My dad still sees me as his little girl and still spoils me so it a little wierd having him knowing we have been, erm, at it like rabbits trying to make a baby
We are excited to tell DPs mum, she will be over the moon and think it will be easier to tell her.
Did you just blurt it out to your mum and dad.

Yeh im thinking sick is good, reassures me a bit and my boobs are a bit sore. hope i dont start throwing up at work haha.

I bet you are excited about the scan, you will have to post on here when you have been and let us know how you got on. i cant wait till that stage :)

Well, my mum kind of guessed, so she already said the 'Have you got something to tell me' 10 minutes before we did!! I had it all planned what I was going to say, and in the end I just said, 'We've got a bit of news for you' and my mum just said 'I'm right aren't I?' and my Dad didn't know what the hell she was on about so I just said 'We're having a baby' He said that it was the best Xmas present ever (we told them 30th Dec)

When are you going to tell them?

aww thats sweet! I think we will tell them after i have seen the midwife for the first bloods etc. im not sure if we will say 'im pregnant' we are having a baby' or 'your going to be grandparents'.
How long did it take your midwife to see you after you told your docs you were pg? and what do they do?

after i confirmed it with the gp (which really was him just asking me questions) i was about 2 weeks i think before i saw the midwife, then about 2 weeks till i got a scan date. alot of waiting. i havent seen my midwife since and wont be seeing her until 16 weeks, so 2 and a half more weeks.

i hope you dont feel to sick, its awful to feel sick. its not like you can even make yourself sick to feel better cause you still feel just as bad as before.

when i was pg with dd i felt sick for 7 months and just felt ropey for the whole time, but this time the sickness has gone off alot, just my appetite and the tiredness thats left.

Thanks Liz. did you make and appt to see the gp or just ring and tell them? im not sure what to do and am a little worried about my tyroid. Was thinking about making an appt for tomorrow afternoon but then thought id be wasting their time...

i hope i dont feel too sick but if thats the price i have to pay to be a mum then fair doos lol

i juist rang and said i had just found out i was pg and what do i do next, they said i had to see the gp to confirm it which i presumed he would do a test, but he jsut asked about my last period and a load of history.

if i was you i would def tell them about your thyroid and push to see the gp sooner rather than later. i know nothing about your condition, but better to be advised and let them see you asap.

'if thats the price i have to pay to be a mum then fair doos lol' ha ha ha i said that too, i would take any of the horrible things if i got to be pg, then it hits you and all you want to do is crawl into a deeep ole and you wonder what you have let yourself into really hope yours isnt too bad

Thanks Liz that's so helpful. Think I'll try and book an appt for tomorrow and If they havnt got one I'll try telephone consultation.

Haha yeh remind me of that sentence when I'm in here telling you about how many times I've been sick in 1 day!! Xx

i really hope your arent there is women on here who have had to spend time in bed cause they cant move their heads off the pillow, makes me feel bad for moaning about how rough i feel. on the other hand i have friends who spit their babies out after feeling completly normal and not feeling much pain in labour (i always find its these women how have big families) i have one friend who describes birth as a orgasmic experience, like a build up then release. i dont know about that, more like someone trying to rip your bits out from the inside out one by one

Well I did a cb digital this morning and got 'pregnant 1-2' woohoo!! So I've made an appt at the docs for tonight :)

Omg I'm going to be a mummy!

Liz LMAO, orgasmic, WTF?? Far from it I would think!
Ditto with GP, thought they would do a test, but just weighed me, measured me, prodded my belly a bit, asked when 1st day of last period was, filled out a form for my exemptions and that was it!! That was 13 Dec, saw MW for booking on 7th Jan, day of my early scan. Would have been earlier but had Xmas, then we were away for a week for NYE and to tell the parent etc. so prob only would have been 2 weeks too.

Roll on 2:45pm, so excited

Thanks Liz. well i went to the docs, he asked me questions then asked me to make appt for bloods which is 7th feb and my antenatal appt which is 9th feb. Didnt seem to worried about my thyroid.

i am glad it went well at the docs, i bet you are so excited and i would be relieved knowing that you have nothing to worry about regarding your thyroid, yey yey yey

i work for my dad so telling work wasnt really an issue, but the other lads i work with i tiold pretty much straight away simply cause my job is very manual and i have to do alot of lifting which i cant do anymore. i didnt want them thinking i was turning into an idle git, so had to really tell them why i wasnt doing it. plus i cant keep my gob shut.
i told most of my family and friends straight awyay and broadcasted it on facebook once i had been for the 12 week scan.

Sorry, had my scan, totally in love with my little one!
Scam piccie on my profile (think you just click my name above). Have been dated 12 weeks 1 day, instead of 11w3d so now due earlier on 11th August.
Little one did a little backflip and waved at us, so wish we could have got a video, it was hilarious!!

Just did the facebook announcement, finally!!

Iwish so glad your doc appt went ok and thyroid not a biggie :)

DH and I run business from home (let properties, so if no probs with tenants, we don't work, which is lush :) )

at the fact you can't keep your gob shut Liz. I really wanted to tell my mum when I spoke to her on the phone but I resisted :)

Oh klou the scan is beautiful! I bet you have just been sat there looking at the pic x

I think I will tell my work at 8 weeks but I'll tell mine and DPs parents next week and our very close friends just after. Everyone else will be kept in the dark till 12 weeks.

wow klou that top pic is really clear. so there is only 10 days between mine and yours due dates! i am 14 weeks on monday and due on the 1st august.

madkatz when is your af due? (or not as the case may be, heres hoping x x )

Good isn't it? Couldn't believe how clear the actual scan was either, seeing a little face with a nose and everything is quite spectacular!

Gosh Liz, 10 days, we'll have to keep each other sane!!!

In a cleaning mood today, done all the ironing this morning, then have started to clean the house (and had a small break to come on here :) )

How are you getting on Madkatz

Hi klou. Just told my parents, was crapping my pants but they were v happy. Going to tell DPs mum soon. Cleaning day! Sunday is a day of rest lol! Hope you are feeling ok.
