Hiya,

I put August as its a little late for July!

I'm TTC number 4(!)

Due to test on the 15th August but don't think we have much chance this month as its only our first and DH has been ill for a few days and now I've got the bug, so not much romance happening!

So just wonderded if anyone is just starting TTC and wanted to join me?

Congratulations KLou so happy for you.

You won't be here on your own Iwish...I'll be here too.

lizandlulu · 10/12/2010 12:06

yes iwish i cant keep my mouth shutXmas Grin i have told quite alot of people if it has come up in conversation, not just blurted it out!

i am not a supersticious person and think that if something is going to happen, it will happen, weather 1 person knows or 100.

Iwish · 10/12/2010 12:50

Hi madkatz. Me and you will sprawl out in the thread then lol. Xmas Smile.

I think I would be the same Liz. I wasn't going to tell anyone we were ttc but I have told a few people lol. And you are right, whatever will be will be.

You better all stay here and listen to me and madkatz symptom spotting and celebrating bfps x

MadKatz · 10/12/2010 13:44

lol good idea. Don't abandon us you lot!!!

KLou111 · 10/12/2010 15:16

You won't be abandoned you 2, we're with you all the way!! It is a lucky thread!

Just booked into the Docs, they receptionist said 'I've sorry, but I have to ask if you are going to proceed with the pregnancy?' I said 'YES of course!!' and she said 'I thought you sounded happy!'
10:10am Monday morning to have it confirmed!!!

I am going to tell my parents and in-laws when we go back to the Midlands for NYE. My mum retired as a midwife 3 years ago, so I've got some great help! She and my dad I know will be ecstatic as we have always snubbed them and our other friends and family when they talked about us having kids, and said we will have them when we are ready, if we do. Everyone has now kinda given up on us, so they will be in shock!!

We won't tell anyone else for now. We spoke about it earlier and DH said we should wait for the scan and just get the picture out and surprise everyone, but I can't wait til then with the folks!! I can't really use the antibiotics thing again that I used last Saturday as it's the same friends we are seeing this NYE, but we are also staying with/going out with some other friends that night who know we are TTC and they are too, so may tell them and they can help us blag!!

We're looking at going out to Thailand in February for a month as DH Bro lives there for 4 months over Winter (with his Thai wife) and they are here from March. We did it this Feb just gone, and now we are pregnant, this is prob our last chance for a long holiday if everything is OK. They have been trying for 3 years for a BFP so I feel really bad. :(

KLou111 · 10/12/2010 15:16

sorry for the long post BTW

MadKatz · 10/12/2010 15:42

Don't worry about the long post KLou great to hear your plans. I can imagine what you mean about feeling a bit bad re your friends but not a lot you can do about that. My friends had been trying for 2 1/2 years before they got PG just before Xmas last year with their second baby boy. They're over staying with us this weekend so we'll be busy!!

Iwish · 10/12/2010 18:46

Hi klou I bet you are happy you can go and get the pg confirmed at the docs, and so soon Xmas Smile
wow your mum will be there to help you with everything being a ex-midwife (if that's even a word!). I bet your mum and dad will be so excited. My mother in law to be can't wait till we get pg as her daughter can't have children and her other son is gay.
You are such a busy little bee, make sure you take it easy and look after the little bean in there.

So madkatz me and you have some work to do this month lol. We will be SWI next week and starting with opks Sunday this week.

Happy weekend by the way everyone x

lizandlulu · 10/12/2010 21:41

klou you are so lucky having a midwife as a mother! you can ask all the stupid silly questions you wantXmas Grin

have nice weekends everyone

lizandlulu · 13/12/2010 10:47

hiya all, hope you all had good weekends?

KLou111 · 13/12/2010 12:10

Hi all, weekend was fab, weather was a bit warmer at last!! Hope you all had similar??

Just come back from the Docs. I did ask if I should have phoned the MW direct rather than waste her time. She said they don't do that here especially with the first. She said I like to check you first and get your paperwork done, then refer you. Apparently we're 6 weeks gone

She said the MW will be in touch after Chrimbo to arrange a scan. OMG, this is all really real. We got out of the Doc and DH started welling up. Think it's just hit him we're having a baby!!

Now he's really excited and wants to tell everyone on NYE (8.5 weeks), there will be 18/20 of us celebrating, so not sure if I could handle everyone at the same time!!

Funny though as his friend phoned just after we got out of the Docs and DH checked to see if they were coming NYE (would be 20 of us if so) and said they are trying to get a babysitter for their 5yo. He said 'you've got all this to come you know!' They don't even know we've been trying and how funny he should say it when we just came from the Docs!!

lizandlulu · 13/12/2010 15:12

coincedence or what!

i have got to see the midwife on wednesday, am looking forward to it even though shes only going to be doing paperwork and asking questions

KLou111 · 13/12/2010 20:39

oooo Liz exciting!! I've just invested in some pregnacare tablets for the whole of my pregnancy. 3 for 2 at vitabiotics.com 270 tablets for £25.90-£1 first order disc.

Read good things about them esp with vit D which is what I was told to take today along with folic.

lizandlulu · 13/12/2010 21:00

i take a pregnancy vitamin but dont know what make it is! i just chose a middle of the road one in boots, nothing too expensive, but not the cheapy one either.

i am feeling really fat today! my jeans have been too tight all day at work, i am going to use a pair of maternity ones tomorrow from last time. it makes me feel ill to have anything tight on. i cant stand anything even remotley tight accross my stomach.

i feel like i have put on about half a stone, but i have been to weight watchers tonight (i am still going to go to keep my dad motivated as i go with him, but not really following the plan) and have put on a pound and a half in 2 weeks, which was not too bad i thought.

GruffaloMama · 13/12/2010 21:58

Klou - so chuffed for you!!!! All sounds good and I hope you get your scan date soon. So excited for you I just got a bit teary! Big hugs.

Liz I'm glad I'm not the only one to have jeans problems. I've put on about two pounds - astonishing given the amount of rubbish I've been eating, but jeans and work trousers are very tight already. Am craving white plastic bread (not normally a thing I go for) and crisps (ditto). Am hoping I can get back to something more healthy soon - but at least I'm taking pregnacare so I shouldn't get scurvy. Xmas Grin

lizandlulu · 13/12/2010 22:39

i am craving savoury things too. i usually have the sweetest tooth around, but the last couple of week i would rather have dairylea on crispbreads than a biscuitXmas Shock

lizandlulu · 14/12/2010 12:29

aarrgghh i keep getting headaches and pains down the back of my neck. i am not sure why, i think i am sleeping in the usual position so no idea why. dont want to take tablets thoughSad

KLou111 · 14/12/2010 15:40

oh Liz sorry you're not feeling good. Hope the pain eases.

I'm just not feeling hungry AT ALL! Forced a bowl of muesli down at 1:30, only because I thought I should eat something. I don't feel sick or anything like that, I just don't feel hungry. I feel I should be eating though as bubba won't be getting anything or it too early to be worrying about that?

I've found a menu planner here so going to try and do a menu and force feed myself!
