August - first month of TTC? Join me!

Hiya,

I put August as its a little late for July!

I'm TTC number 4(!)

Due to test on the 15th August but don't think we have much chance this month as its only our first and DH has been ill for a few days and now I've got the bug, so not much romance happening!

So just wonderded if anyone is just starting TTC and wanted to join me?

Still not really believing it. Think I'll be in denial until the 12 week scan. Thanks to all for the last few days - it really has made a tremendous difference knowing that there are a few people out there that I can witter on to. DH is great but he doesn't really get it and I can't tell my mum yet. My best mate doesn't have kids/hasn't been trying so wouldn't understand either. So thank you!

I know you're not meant to say anything yet, but you could tell your mum couldn't you?

I would but she's been sick for quite a long time and pretty depressed. Me being preg would lift her certainly but if I had told her and then lost it, it would be really hard for her (and to be honest I would have enough to deal with my own reactions without worrying about how she's taking it). Also with DS she told me about 35 times about the miscarriage she had before she had me. I know she was trying to be supportive but it wasn't what I needed to hear.

I'm sure I will tell her soon - I'm going down to see her in a fortnight (they live 200 miles away) so I'll probably tell her then.

Madkatz - v jealous - am trying to sort a babysitter so we can go. Glad to hear it's good.

oh am sorry Gruffalo, wasn't meaning to be nosey, thought it was because it was early and didn't want to tell anyone yet.
I'm sure everything will go smoothly for you, and I hope it makes your mum's year when she finds out there's another GC on the way x

klou no need to say sorry - I didn't think you were being nosey. If things were a just a little different I deffo would tell her. Everything seems to have settled down so hopefully it'll all be okay. I just have about 7 weeks ahead of obsessive knicker-checking but if it works (the baby, not the knicker-checking) it'll be worth every minute.

gruffalo, you made me chuckle with the knicker-checking (well if you dont laugh, you would cry wouldnt you!) still no sign of my af, its day 40 now, its bloody ridiculous and everytime i feel wet 'down there' i am sure af has come, but still no, nothing

well i am off to have a bath seeing as dd is in bed unusually early, will check bck in tomorrow

Day 40 Liz? Gosh that's a long cycle. Have you tested?

It is - I'm on day 40 too - still tracking my days/temps as part of my obsessive 'am I still pg?' thing. Liz have you tested again? I was thinking about this last night too - are you sure you OV'ed? I have PCOS and before I had DS it wasn't uncommon for me to have v long cycles - I know that travel can postpone OV in a similar way.

i tested saturday. thats just it gruffalo i am not SURE i have ovulated, i was only guessing from previous cycles and the ewcm. i think i am going to have to buy a bulk load of ov tests and do it everyday so i can be sure.

i stopped doing the temps when i went to new york so have no real indication of ovulation

just bought a laod of ov tests off ebay, once af does finalyl come i will do them eery day, soo if i can at least get a pos on those!

Why do our bodies have to be so confusing?????

that long? i am going to a han do on saturday tho so need to know for def before then really. not that i think i am. i keep getting a pain in my lower abdomen, i dont know if i have pulled a muscle or what but every now and again its twinges and hurts like mad. i do a manual job tho, i work in a scrap yard and was really busy on thursday and friday so might have pulled something then

Wow, I haven't been on here in a couple of months because I was getting very depressed by my awful pregnancy-like withdrawal symptoms from the pill, and then my period being 3 days late, but I did a test this morning as I'm on Day 33 of my cycle and guess what, it's a BFP!!!!! It was no faint line either.
I should be delighted (which I am) but I'm also overwhelmingly paranoid that it is a fluke and my period is going to come on because of how I feel (really bloated and crampy). Will have to test again tomorrow morning before I start to take in the news.

Is it wrong of me to be a bit gutted that I'm going to miss the free cocktails at the office Christmas party, and not be able to eat nice pate at Christmas?

congratulations badgerwife i hope you start to feel better soon but relax and enjoy the early days!

maybe you should have waitind till after christmas to try? but something else would always come up, i feel the same about things like that. i am invited on a hen weekend in may and really want to go but if i do get pg before then (and i bloody better be) i will just have to not go!

i might hold off till fiday like you said klou, i only have one 'good' test left. i think i will wait till the ovulation tests come off the internet cause there is 5 free cheapie tests with them.

not sure tho, will make my mind up in the morning
