MissGreatBritain. Your answer jumped out at me cos I've already bought the Animation Station for DS2, and was having a look at the polaroid printer! The prices vary so widely, was advertised in our local paper at £60! (for printer) but I've seen it as low as £16. The Animation Station, I also got mine from the Gadget Shop, but it was on Amazon for £44!!!!

AboardtheAxiom · 24/11/2009 16:59

DS age 5 is getting a Thomas Set, Knapford Station, was £24 from argos and ex is meant to be going halves on it with me so bargain!

I don't normally go mad anyway and DS will love this as he is thomas mad so its a winner all round.

AboardtheAxiom · 24/11/2009 17:00

at all the MNers dcs receiving sylvanian family toys for xmas, I hankered after these every year as a child but never got them as my parents couldn't afford them.

bigTillyMint · 24/11/2009 17:01

DD (10) R4 and docking speakers for i-pod
DS (8) skateboard

And as they are both relatively cheap, lots of stocking fillers!

CheerfulYank · 24/11/2009 17:09

My DS (2) is very into birds so I am sewing him a bird family. DH is making a wooden nest for them and my dad is making eggs which DS can open and put the baby birds in. My mom and dad are also getting him a teepee, which he'll love as he's likes to hide. Maybe some Thomas stuff, we'll see.

claireybepositive · 24/11/2009 17:18

DD (3.5) & DS (2, or will be by xmas)

Main present is an easel between them.

Then dd is getting a learn how to tell the time clock and lots of beads.

DS is getting a small car transporter and Peppa Pig playground set (both half price buys-hooray!)

ledodgy · 24/11/2009 17:25

dd kiddizoom pro camera
ds1 kiddizoom pro camera
ds2 shopping trolley plus food and a pepper pig push and go car.

ledodgy · 24/11/2009 17:25

Should have said they are 6, 4 and 22 months.

angelene · 24/11/2009 17:31

DD is 4 and will be getting a bedside light, fairy lights and 'Cinderella Princess doll' whatever the fuck that is, although first investigations show it as £6.99 at TRU so that's OK! Then little bits and bobs. I'm keeping it VERY tight this Christmas.

jemart · 24/11/2009 18:31

lots of playmobil!!!
And a teddy for ds (9mths)

jemart · 24/11/2009 18:32

I should clarify - dd1 and dd2 are getting the playmobil.

TennisFan · 24/11/2009 18:40

I have never even heard of Animation Station - it looks great i think my DS would like it.

GreatGooglyMoogly · 24/11/2009 18:42

DS2 (3.10) will be getting the playmobil recycling truck for Christmas and a 2-wheel scooter for his birthday in early January.

No idea what to get DS1 (5.7)!

stressheaderic · 24/11/2009 18:49

This thread has reassured me greatly!

I have bought my young nieces a book and a doll each, and when our dc1 comes along in Feb, it will be things such as above for Christmas, and no huge outpourings of gifts.

I work in an inner-city school in an area where lets just say the parents try to outdo each other somewhat despite it being right near the bottom of all the socio-economic tables...and I have 11 year olds telling me they are getting "a new laptop, a gold iPod cos I dn't like my silver one no more and an iPhone, they're my main presents, then I'll probably just get Uggs and and a coat and Xbox games aswell". One boy is getting a 50" TV for his bedroom plus Sky HD, and one girl is getting an actual horse...
I am truly .

itsmeolord · 24/11/2009 19:12

cheerfulyank's son sounds like a very lucky boy. How lovely to have christmas presents that your family put so much thought and effort into.

suggy · 24/11/2009 20:17

I agree cheerful yank bought tears to my eyes...

DD1 (6) MP3 player with v expensive sound limiting headphones... {I work in health and safety}, plus gogo hamster and car (all I could get...). All she wants is a DS - but I've told her santa won't get her one as Mum and Dad have told him not to...
DD2 (3) Sylvanian caravan and car, plus a rabbit family to go on holiday with. All she wants is a jigsaw - so got one of those too.

QueenOfFlamingEverything · 24/11/2009 20:26

DD (6) is getting a wind-up torch that looks like a penguin, some cover-to-cover books on tape (Wizard of Oz, Black Beauty, Secret Garden), some new pyjamas with ballerinas on, and a hamper we are making up - a wicker basket filled with miniature packets of things she likes. So far there's olives, nuts, mini christmas pudding, teeny Green and Blacks bars, and mini jar of honey.

We are skint and we have no more room for bloody toys.

Peabody · 24/11/2009 20:40

DD (14 months) - VTech tree
DS (2.7) - Happyland Pre-School

Plus a stocking each with some books, a puzzle, some sweets.

Both me and DH both come from big families and their aunts and uncles also get them presents, so we are lucky that the kids end up with loads of toys at no cost to ourselves.

TeaOneSugar · 24/11/2009 20:47

DD (6 by christmas) Main presents, Little Sunshine Doll and Barbie Hair Salon.

Then bits like a couple of DVD's, bath stuff, barbie clothes set (half price with the hair salon).

I refuse to buy tonnes of stuff, we haven't got room for it and she gets too much from GPs, aunties and uncles etc anyway.

JammyOLantern · 24/11/2009 20:48

DD (2.5) will be getting some Duplo, some books, and probably a Vet's Kit from us. Santa will bring her some 2nd hand and cheap bits (a game, a fairy costume, play dough, chocolate buttons, a card game, safety scissors, a torch and possibly an umbrella).
