Sorry if this has already been covered, but thought it might help someone

Having agonised for several minutes over the merits of 23rd Vs 24th and having missed the Christmas deliveries every year until now, I felt I needed to share this with you all!

(decided on the 23rd BTW!)

I cant see where they are........ Waaaaaaaaaah where did you find them

penona · 20/10/2009 15:25

If you go on and book a delivery, it should be just underneath 'book a single delivery'. At least it was for me, am feeling all smug I have just done mine. Yipeeee!

blowninonabreeze · 20/10/2009 15:28

yy
book a single delivery, underneath the grid that usually says the times it has a link, "book Christmas delivery"

I do have on demand though, don't know if thtat makes a difference

Have booked mine for 22nd. 23rd was fully booked and only one a lot left on 24th.

A bit cross that is is £9.99 a a lot though with no discount for having paid out for the monthly payment.

Hulababy · 20/10/2009 16:21

Must remember to sort it out nearer the time too. Min order is 90 so added 3 bottles of champagne! Must remember to change it lol.

blowninonabreeze · 20/10/2009 16:23

Agree about the £9.99 but worth every penny IMO not to be doing that supermarket shop, DH is working until 3.30 on Christmas Eve so it'd be me and 2 pre-schoolers shopping for 15 people. Joy!

Was too nervous to book the 24th - though if they run out of everything there'd be no time to get replacements.

Am absurdly gleefull about this!

OP posts:
blowninonabreeze · 20/10/2009 16:25

I too must remeber to change it or we'll be having 10 boxes of pampers for dinner - yours sounds preferable to be honest - think ours would be a little dry

cece · 20/10/2009 16:30

Wail! I can't see it on mine, so must be priority for regular users. Sob.

ClaireDeLoon · 20/10/2009 16:30

Booked mine last week and it too just has bottles of champagne on it

I booked for the 22nd as that was the only day early morning slots were available. Like blowinonabreeze says it gives time to get anything missing!

MrsJohnDeere · 20/10/2009 16:31

Thanks for this. Have booked for the 23rd (just in case some things are missing or damaged).

Disappointed to have to pay £10 though on top if the 'on demand' payment. Worth it though not to go shopping with the dcs.

Hulababy and blowin, you shouldn't be paying for the slot if you have On Demand. Just checked mine and I haven't been charged. You are entitled to 1 free delivery slot in the Christmas period with On Demand and just pay for any extra deliveries you have in that time.

Whoops x post MrsJohnDeere, same applies to you. Or have I got it wrong?

ClaireDeLoon · 20/10/2009 16:35

I got the slots released last week and I have annual on demand (so no £9.99 charge).

blowninonabreeze · 20/10/2009 16:37

ah yes - we don't have annual on demand - we pay monthly - that may make a difference?

OP posts:
ClaireDeLoon · 20/10/2009 16:40

Must do

MrsJohnDeere · 20/10/2009 16:40

Monthly on demand here too. A message came up on the screen saying on demand free delivery didn't apply from 20-24th Dec (or something similar).

Owls · 20/10/2009 16:43

Ahh right, yes I've the annual On Demand as well.

cornsilk · 20/10/2009 17:07

I have on demand and I think that charging a tenner for delivery is bloody cheeky.

nearlybeans · 20/10/2009 17:10

Waitrose online are taking orders for free delivery now - minimum spend £50. Slots for the 23rd disappearing fast...

Hulababy · 20/10/2009 19:42

Thanks for that nearlybeans.

I have just booked a free Waitrose slot for the same time as the £9.99 Ocado slot. Going to cancel Ocado. I am also going to email them and tell them why.

cece · 20/10/2009 20:07

Thanks managed to book a delivery fro 21 st! But better than nothing!

Fivesetsofschoolfees · 20/10/2009 20:10

I have just booked mine for the evening of the 23rd. Seems weird putting together an order now, but given that I have exactly the same every year, it wasn't too difficult.

Fivesetsofschoolfees · 20/10/2009 20:17

I wasn't charged for my Christmas delivery
