a second hand bath-bag filled with NHS sanitary towels, courtesy of my mother.......she clearly think of me with joy.

yes, I know she is ill, but it is laugh or cry in this situation. and when you are sat with your FIL opening said present, you laugh.

and then come on MN to cry!

That's hilarious!
You win for sure!

MoreSpamThanGlam · 26/12/2008 10:56

My mother got my 9 yr old boy a stick on bra...

psychohohohoho · 26/12/2008 10:56

it was funny..............at least (as DH said), the sanitary towels were not second hand!

psychohohohoho · 26/12/2008 10:57

A stick on bra[fshock.

that has to beg the question........"what was she thinking??"

YeahBut · 26/12/2008 10:57

Spam, why? I mean, the sanitary towels at least can be used by Psycho at a push, what on earth does she think a 9 year old boy is going to do with a bra? Keep his marbles in it?

crispyduck · 26/12/2008 10:58

that has made me laugh

that has cheered me up

troutsprout · 26/12/2008 10:58

Oh god yes ...you win hands down

MoreSpamThanGlam · 26/12/2008 11:00

She had a job lot of JML stick on bras and thought it would be funny. my youngest got a nice toy and eldest dd mascara...he get a stick on bra. Not impressed. Shes a nutter though.

wotuhohohoinat · 26/12/2008 11:01

That could be disturbing for a 9year old boy

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/12/2008 11:01

...

psychohohohoho · 26/12/2008 11:03

morespam...............is that all he got???

and why, if you have a DD, did she think it ok, even for a joke???

He is a very grounded little boy. we laughed about it when she left and he said he woulf wear them as earmuffs.

Its ok though because she did also give him a stolen mobile phone....thats thats alright....

My kids just roll their eyes and look at me pitifully because i had 2 endure 18 years of it...the nutter.

psychohohohoho · 26/12/2008 11:43

@ 'stolen mobile phone'.

my children also roll their eyes. it does make mine appreciate what me and DH do for them tho

Hahahahahahaha!

MSTG very nice to hear your Ds is taking it all light heartedly

Psycho, what made you the most....the second hand bag or the fact that it was filled with sanitary towels?

How did she get NHS towels btw? You're lucky to get them if you happen to be an in patient ime.

psychohohohoho · 26/12/2008 23:27

it was the towels that made me go . I am used to the second hand bag now,......pretty much all I get is from jumble sales, altho TBF, for my mother. it is not normally complete tat (IYGWIM).....the sanitary towles tho this year surpassed (sp?) EVERYTHING I have ever received!

I would like to say she got them from being in a special home too......but I really don;t think o, as she has to buy all her own stuff, and she had a hysterectamy(sp?) about 10yrs ago too...........really really REALLY worries me......!

God I thought I was hard done to this year when Dh's gran (92yo but nothing wrong with her despite what she thinks) sent a Christmas card to "Dh and family"!

We've been together for 18 years, she didn't even acknowledge me on the card
On the envelope was written Dh's name and something which could've been my name but equally she could've sneezed at the end of his, meh!

I mean fair enough don't write out the kids' names (she misspells them every occasion anyway) but acknowledge his wife fgs.

BUT that pales into insignificance compared to yours...I didn't see your previous 'visit' thread.. but have a belated (((((hug))))) anyway.

thankyou lots for the ((hug)).......very much appreciated.

I have to say, after this xmas, and the very smelly (altho they were new) blankets she got the children (and that was only 4 as she decided that I had too many children, and also, two of the blankets were cot blankets), I do wish she would forget that I ( we) exhisted!!

tis so hard having to to justify her gifts......altho to be fair, the inlaws know, and the children don;t really notice too much (unless I am upset).

ho hum....I will laugh properly about this un the future......wont I......
