Quite simple really. I think tinsel is naff, my mum thinks I am a snob. Who is right?

no tinsel on the real tree (have strings of beads on there instead) but shed loads of the stuff on DC's tree in playroom . I love tinsel in the kids rooms, playroom etc but just not on my tree

Far too snobby in this house for tinsel - the very idea!!

SheherazadetheGoat · 16/12/2008 20:25

i don't have tinsel, i hate it. loved it as a child though. i remember dressing up in loads of tinsel from the tree.

expat i thought you hated cats?

expatinscotland · 16/12/2008 20:29

it's minging, pongy, hairy, salivating dogs i hate, goat .

expatinscotland · 16/12/2008 20:30

our tree has NOTHING but decorations made by the girls on ours, excepting the lights.

even the paperchains made by them.

and they have a pink fake one from tesco in their room.

Xmas is supposed to be naff.

I love tinsel. It makes the house look Christmasy and cheery.

Tinsel reminds me of the 1970's. However out shopping the other day the empty shelves in woolies and general feeling in the air took me back to the 1970's so maybe it is due a revival!
