It's just true isn't it?

All that faffing with coxandcox soft white tree sheaths but what children really like are the massive houses covered with flashing rope lights

Why is that?

Those of you who have said it looks tacky do you think all outside lights look tacky? Even those white flashing icicle ones or the blue flashing led ones?

LynetteScavo · 21/12/2008 18:52

Any flashing lights are tacky, IMO.

There are a couple of huge houses around the corner from me - and they have really gone to town with their lights. (They probably employed someone to do it)

Maybe they're nouveu riche?

lol okaaaaaaaaay what about still white icicle ones and still blue led ones?

There is a lovely moiddle class all whie one near us, kids not impressed.

Went round to see the good one tonight, but they aren't decorated, I think the two houses used to get together to do it and they had a train that ran accross the roof. They even had a chairty box chained to the fence. One house is up for sale so guess they don't want to do it this year.

There is a rumour at DD's school that there is a house with a train "you can go on" in the garden, have to track that one down wonder what that is all about.

The best lights are to be found down roads that have a high number of England flags on display during European/World football tournaments. It's a veritable Venn diagram.
