Took the dds to local garden centre on monday. All very twee 'Story Time with FC'. Basically biscuit, story, list of requests, chocolate, bugger off, but we were able to listen in on the other children's requests.

(And yes my two did ask for the most wholesome gifts AND said thank you ).

One little boy got up there and had 'this is trite shite' written all over his face, so when FC asked him what he wanted he just shrugged
"a bell"

"a bell?"

"yes a bell, a blue bell, that is all I want"

His mother LITERALLY mouthed the words "what the fuck?" behind him.

ha ha ha ha

So now she is scouring the globe for a blue bell.

Dd asked for a real live penguin to love in the bath last year!!! She mentioned it at school oday actually - all sad because she had been good but didn't get it!!!

Leslaki · 04/12/2008 19:02

not to love in the bath but to live in it! She's only 5!!!

karise · 04/12/2008 19:22

DD asked for a toy hot air balloon last year
Eventually found a care bears castle on ebay which had a fairground type one attached- Phew!!!
Nothing as complicated this year so far, thank goodness

iheartdusty · 04/12/2008 22:24

mine wanted a 'toy father Christmas' last year

this year her list says 'Dear FC I would like a picture of you and a few sweets..'

cece · 04/12/2008 22:26

DD asked for a beehive so she could make her own honey! Needless to say she didn't get one...

jollyholly · 04/12/2008 22:28

We had tears on Christmas Day a couple of years ago, when dd1 didn't get the ring she wanted (she was about 5 at the time). I had no idea that she'd wanted a ring - it wasn't on the list that she'd written with me. Turns out they'd written another list to FC at school, which, as she'd already written a list with me, she thought she'd better think of something else. Thanks school

Fortunately, a letter appeared on the fireplace from FC saying the naughty elves had forgotten to put it on the sleigh, and here was some money for Mummy to get one from the shop instead! (OK, it was the best we could come up with on the spur of the moment!!)

nancy75 · 04/12/2008 22:33

conveyor belt like they have at baggage reclaim at the airport (see my many threads trying to find a toy one!)

bentneckwine1 · 04/12/2008 23:00

My niece asked for a rainbow once...a real rainbow from up in the sky santa please!!!

notsoteenagemum · 04/12/2008 23:09

Every dressing up outfit in the world!
and a flesh coloured crayon was dd's wierdest.

TLESinChristmasStockings · 04/12/2008 23:10

ds1 once asked for
"3 sweets and a bob the builder video as we don't have a lot of money santa can you give mummy some instead of lots of presents for me so she can have some new clothes like she buys me?"

needless to say i went mad on presents for him that xmas cos i felt bad

UnquietDad · 04/12/2008 23:11

One of the nicest threads ever on here was about the little boy who asked for a red balloon and a strawberry yoghurt for his birthday, and got them. Anyone remember?

ipodtherforipoor · 04/12/2008 23:11

a cuckcoo clock - suitable for a 2 yearold.

TLESinChristmasStockings · 04/12/2008 23:13

The saddest xmas was when ds1 asked santa in a letter (at asda)

"Dear Santa,

can I have my grandad back mummy won't stop crying...

Asda sent him a big parcel of gifts I cried even more.

Dad died 12 days before xmas

MulledSlubber · 05/12/2008 09:38

Oh TLES , but I'm pretty impressed with Adsa. I imagined that those letters all go straight into the recycling bin. It's good to know that a RL human with RL feelings read your ds's letter.

Oh, TLES that is sad, but also so lovely of your son (and Asda).

My DCs haven't been too bad yet, but I once asked for a bag of tulip bulbs so I could grow my own flowers - I was 3. My mum says that was fine, but they couldn't get me to say anything else and were really worried what else I might think I was getting.

TLESinChristmasStockings · 05/12/2008 09:44

Mulled the letters go on display. They sent his to head office....and that branch were touched by it and they all chipped in for the gifts. Was very sad and very nice of them.

mellyonion · 05/12/2008 09:44

last year the day before christmas eve, someone asked my 4yo dd what she was having for christmas, and she announced "a mouse!" and from that moment on, thats all she went on about!

i scoured shops and couldn't find a mouse of any sorts.....then i struck lucky..found a cute pink soft toy mouse, but his nose was broken...i bought him, patched up his broken nose, wrapped him up...saved him til last as her new best present ever....she was thrilled for two minutes, and hasn't looked at him since!!!!

Poledra · 05/12/2008 09:50

Oh, I forgot, the Christmas DD1 was almost 3, all she wanted was some chocolate coins. My parents were staying and they took her to church on Christmas Eve. Santa Claus was there and he gave her some chocolate coins - cue one very pleased little girl.

OhYouMerryMerryKitten · 05/12/2008 09:51

dd was a very bald toddler. When she had just turned 2 we went to see Father Christmas. He asked her what she wanted, her one word reply was 'hair'.

That year her hair grew and grew and she now has the thickest blonde waist length hair you ever saw. It is gorgeous. Because of this I will always believe in Father Christmas.

travellingwilbury · 05/12/2008 09:56

My ds for two christmasses and two birthdays running told everyone he met that what he most wanted for christmas was

a packet of chocolate biscuits

One of the old ladies I help look after even wrapped him up a packet

BellsCarolsNSleighs · 06/12/2008 15:05

ds1 when 3 came up with.. i want a wine bottle holder!!! .

FC did deliver one wine bottle holder with a bottle of grape juice in.. ds1 was delighted!! WTF!!

Jackstini · 06/12/2008 15:06

A green birthday cake with green candles & a toothbrush!

saltire · 06/12/2008 17:07

This isn't so much a request. Ds2's nursery class had their Christmas Party and a visit form FC.
DS2 had his turn and as usual was far more interested in the Reindeers

DS2 "Santa, where are your reindeers"
FC "They are all at home, that's why I came in the RAF Police car, they picked me up in a jet at the North Pole and dropped me off on the runway"(very sceptical looks from DS2)

Obviosuly we were living on RAF base

DS " "but why didn't you bring them"
FC "They're not well, they have the flu{hmm] and need to rest before Chjristmas Eve"
DS2 "well don't let her DH near them (pointing at nursery teacher) her husbands a vet and he murdered our dog"

At this point santa looked like he was going to burst, poor bloke was trying really hard not to laugh, DS was so serious

NorbertDentressangle · 06/12/2008 17:17

DS wanted a caterpillar, a comb and some ice cream last year (bit of a random selection there!).

This year he wants a green jumper which you would think would be easy but, oh no...it seems green isn't very popular in the boyswear depts. this year (unless you count murky khaki, but he wouldn't accept that I don't think)

LaDiDaDi · 06/12/2008 17:44

DD [2.6] has just asked for some pink ladders.
