The packaging is very pretty, but at the end of the day it is still a sachet of powdered Vitamin C from the health food shop. The DCs will be thrilled that Santa is keeping them healthy.

Where is Cod to shout 'Ponce' when you need her?

they might think it's space dust !

potplant · 03/12/2008 14:46

'The DCs will be thrilled'.... you think?

compo · 03/12/2008 14:47

lol
that is such a crap stocking filler never mind poncey

Think I better put in alka seltzer sachet in mine

Indith · 03/12/2008 14:48

Lol, I don't know about poncy though. I usually put posh cooking stuff in for dh, stuff like posh dried mushrooms, saffron etc. That has to beat Vit C in the ponce stakes no?

myalias · 03/12/2008 14:49

Back in my day it was a clementine

stinkymonkey · 03/12/2008 14:50

I was joking when I said they'd be thrilled. Though it'll be wrapped in High School Musical paper, they'd be thrilled with a turd if it was wrapped in that.

Has nobody bought a worse stocking filler? Can this prize really be so easily claimed?

Nuts

compo · 03/12/2008 14:52

I can't think of a worse one

possibly if someone has bought some festive bog roll

muddleduck · 03/12/2008 14:55

DS1 (3) has one of those wooden advent calenders with drawers in. I spent ages finding little things to put in it. This morning he said hopefully:

"maybe tomorrow there will be a bit of bread in drawer number 4"

poor deprived child

brimfull · 03/12/2008 14:56

well I think some fish oil tablets may be going in ds's

RudolphtherEDDASnosedreindeer · 03/12/2008 14:58

muddleduck that is so cute bless him. My dd is often asking for just bread, no butter

PMSL at vitamin c sachet as a stocking filling I thought some of my stuff was boring, socks, toothbrush etc but not anymore!!

stinkymonkey · 03/12/2008 14:58

That's more like it ggirl. Vaguely improving and virtuous, and completely not what they would have bought for themselves.

oh that reminds me Father Christmas has to find a pink toothbrush for dd. Apparently she had a huge tantrum last night because her toothbrush wasn't pink She screamed so loud that he probably heard it in Lapland.

muddleduck · 03/12/2008 15:03

I told him he wouldn't get bread in the calender as it wasn't a "special christmassy thing". So he asked for croissant instead

ChippyMinton · 03/12/2008 22:18

i see your VitC and raise you a packet of sticking plasters (if that's the correct way to bid)

stinkymonkey · 04/12/2008 09:38

Now come on ChippyMinton, be specific. Are we talking bog-standard Elastoplast or fancy ones with Disney-ish designs? If it's the fancy ones then that's almost a toy.

I think Indith's saffron and porcini out ponces your Vit C!@stinkymonkey

guitarheroine · 04/12/2008 10:22

dd put on her letter to father christmas

"Instead of a satsuma please may I have a pineapple this year"

snort

guitarheroine · 04/12/2008 10:23

(she is 6)

Pantofino · 04/12/2008 10:26

Ex MIL wrapped up some batteries with a box of tissues for one of the GC, in an attempt to make it look more "impressive". Boy, was he not impressed!

gokwancarr · 04/12/2008 10:30

I see you the Vitamin C and the plasters and raise you Oxy On The Spot Spot Cream (in fairness, DS1 badly needed it at the time) :O

Hassled · 04/12/2008 10:39

Actually I'm withdrawing my Spot Cream from the contenders - have just realised we're talking poncey rather than just necessary

SoupDragon · 04/12/2008 10:45

I once got a toilet block. I was 13.
