oH DEAR.hANG IN THERE.
Can you not get dh to do a shift?

rempy · 25/11/2008 14:58

Also in the fantasy present list, an entirely new underwear drawer.

This will have to wait even in my fantasy world until I have stopped breastfeeding, and have lost that lingering half a stone... (half, who am I kidding!)

DH does what he can, very booby orientated little one, so not a lot to do there, but he goes into DD who is coughing like shes smoked 60 a day..

a full time housekeeper to keep my house tidy and do my laundry, maybe cook a few stews and lasagnes for the freezer occasionally, walk the dog when it's raining...
ain't going to happen but that's what I REALLY want

Blinglovin · 25/11/2008 15:01

I would buy you the wormery Rempy! . I've never understood the "I can't buy you that" idea, if it's what you want but that you might not buy yourself.

But then, I'm good at gifts

rempy · 25/11/2008 15:02

I have moments of gift inspiration, but not often.

I bought my dad dried mealyworms for his bird table the other year. He thought they were brill, others not so sure....

They did look like a box of maggots, ho ho.

Oh, and want I want, and KEEP telling DP about and STILL not getting is....
perfect dangly earrings

Also, a pearl necklace but that's way too expensive so won't happen!

Smittals · 25/11/2008 15:42

highly glamorous grey silk pyjamas from the white company...sigh. A snip at £90 and they won't fit my pregnant belly. I don't think they'd manage the subsequent newborn dribbling/boob leakage very well either tbh. But...oooo

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/11/2008 15:45

I'd like a wireless rain gauge.

then I could post riveting things like
'cor did you know we just had 34mm of rain at a rainfall rate of 136mm/hour and you would all gasp in awe at my wonderful array of interesting facts.

I would really like one.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 25/11/2008 15:47

OhYouBadBadKitten - I know how you feel, I would like a recording thermohygrograph so I could monitor temperature and relative humidity around the house.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/11/2008 15:51

That would be cool too Kathy I have one of those indoor/outdoor weather stations for temp/pressure and indoor rh but it only does max and min on the temp (if you remember to press the button to reset) and a 1 day history on the pressure.

A voucher for a mobile reflexologist - it sounds like bliss. I have had it on my list for 3 years now!!!1

Secondhand books - Darkover Anthologies and/or old girls school stories. Why won't people buy me secondhand books for Christmas.

angelene · 25/11/2008 15:57

Someone to come in and de-clutter the whole house, organise it all and make it look like it was when we moved in.

Fitted wardrobes for my bedroom.

More time.

[wistful]

dramaqueen · 25/11/2008 16:01

I want a barometer so I can tap it in the morning. And I think that I may actually get it.....

annmar · 25/11/2008 16:05

I am getting a slow cooker, but DH wants to get me something else as well.

I was browsing kitchen/homewares websites at the weekend and he just said, I want to buy something for you not the house. I don't want anything for me. I want kitchen gadgets and things I can use when I'm pretending to clean the house.

ohdearwhatamess · 25/11/2008 16:17

I don't really want any 'things'. Can get those myself.

What I'd love is for dh to spontaneously arrange for someone to come and do a proper clean and declutter of the house (and arrange it properly - date, time, somewhere for the dcs and I to go whilst it happens).

Or for dh to do all the odd jobs I've been asking him to do for the past year or two.

Or someone to babysit the dcs so we can go out.

heather1980 · 25/11/2008 17:10

i love this thread!
dear santa i would like:
a day without cbeebies, in fact i would gladly sell my left kidney for this!
a new bathroom
a day at the allotment uninteruped by phonecalls such as, where are the nappies/clean towels/what's for dinner? type questions
a new car
for my house to stay tidy without my 2 year old and dh destroying it within 5 minutes.

but most of all i would love a couple of chickens but i wont get them
