Thanks so much to @Sideorderofchips for keeping things going. I can barely believe it's September and (for me at least!) that only means one thing - Christmas can start!!!!

Hope you've all had a great year and have missed you all. Last couple of years I've had various health things going on so have been a bit distant from the threads. Not quite there yet but feeling stronger than this time last year and I can't wait until I see more festive items in the shops! I've already bought my advent calendar - I've got the taskmaster one (which I'm quite excited about!).

I'll post various links etc in the next thread first post but essentailly you guys know the drill - share and be nice or leave.

It wasn’t for Christmas but for my niece’s 12th birthday, she asked for the exact same thing.
She absolutely loved it and feels all grown up and fancy.
Is she still a believer? Or would she understand that is her present?
You could decorate it and then wrap up the extras (cushions, bits and bobs etc.) for her to open.

we did this for DD when she was 12, painted the room the week before and then did exactly what @xOlive suggested and wrapped up cushions and even her new desk, bedding, shelves etc (i think i even wrapped up the bin… but it looked like an impressive amount and she loved it!)

Daise - shower cream, deodorant, perfume, lip balms. It’s cheaper than the Sunday brand and my DDs are happy with it.
Sol De Janiro sets - admittedly it’s not as sought after this year by them.
Hair care products. Last year I bought Give Me hair sets which they loved.
Satin pillow slips and hair turbans are very popular too.
Other brands - The Beauty Crop, W7, Rare Beauty, Byoma, Glow Recipe, Benefits - some are cheaper than others.
A decent makeup brush or sponges - if they like makeup they may care more about a decent quality brush or sponge set over a larger gift.

Today is boots £10 Tuesday, always worth a look for beauty buys - last year I got a couple of really good no7 gift sets.

Thanks for the Rex London tip, just bulk purchased a few floor puzzles in the sale at £2.95 each for birthday gifts - my youngest has just started school and already has 3 party invites so these are perfect generic gifts for children I don't know. Got a full priced one in a different design for her for Christmas too and still only £9.95 😊

my biggest hit for that age is always a Dior lip oil. Tiny bit more than budget but always so well received. If you wait till closer to xmas you will get their name engraved for free on it. Postage is free so order them seperately as packaging is amazing and there are always some freebies added in

I had this one year, I stayed in the spare bedroom for a while and then got the big reveal on Christmas Day! This was really special if you have got somewhere else but I realise this isn’t usually feasible and my parents did it all very quickly!

However, she might very well love the painting and the fussing with decor herself so I’d probably be chuffed with as someone suggested wrapped tins of paint, bedding, cute little decor bits from Home Bargains.
