Thanks so much to @Sideorderofchips for keeping things going. I can barely believe it's September and (for me at least!) that only means one thing - Christmas can start!!!!

Hope you've all had a great year and have missed you all. Last couple of years I've had various health things going on so have been a bit distant from the threads. Not quite there yet but feeling stronger than this time last year and I can't wait until I see more festive items in the shops! I've already bought my advent calendar - I've got the taskmaster one (which I'm quite excited about!).

I'll post various links etc in the next thread first post but essentailly you guys know the drill - share and be nice or leave.

I managed to get an anker powerbank for £5! And a ninja thirsti (takes fizzy juice as well) for around £11 delivered.

Those are going in my 20yo's stocking.

I've also found socks that are in a little latte-like cup that will fill a stocking. Those were in Home Bargains.

I usually put things like dry shampoo and lip/face masks in there. And a new brush because I don't know what she does to hers but they're always ruined! This year's brush will be the stasher brush from further up the thread. Sorry, I can't remember who posted that!

I've ordered some for my daughter and DIL, so will let you know what they're like when they arrive. I hope they fit - buying things like that for others is always a risk.

I have ordered some anyway in case they sell out. I want them for Christmas PJs and might have people who don’t know each other so well staying over. Having googled poplin, I can see it’s a kind of sturdy fabric so I think everyone will be comfortable in them as good for lounging around but slightly covered up rather than nipples poking through 😂

I like poplin and would much rather have crisp cotton over sweaty viscose/poly which is what most 'soft' pjs are made from. I want them as gifts though which is why I was dithering. But as the recipients are mid-life queens maybe they'd also prefer the non sweaty stuff.

Aldi often do nice, cheap brown paper rolls (with lovely patterns) quite cheaply.

For my household this year, I might try reusable furoshiki wrapping, depending on the size of the gifts (nothing too big). I have a couple of pieces of material I could use and may purchase a couple more.

100% recommend Facebook marketplace /ebay /vinted. You can pick up incredible bundles. We made the whole track - multi-room - for the kids to come down to… it was good!

Are Bitzees any good? DD1 is Harry Potter obsessed so I'm sure she'd like it but I can't work out what it actually is/does! 🤣

Bitzees are like a 3d tamagotchi (omg that spell checked to tampon haha a 3d tampon).

My dd has one and hasn't bothered with it much but shes not big on electronics. I thought it was cute and good value at that price. Dd got hers when first came out and £35.

Got Christmas pyjamas on home bargains - £10 for adult and £7 for child.
i was always a bit snobby about these but having bought some for dd in the summer they are soft and stretchy and the cheapest around!

Usually a last minute lunatic but trying to spread the cost a bit this year and give myself options. My husbands birthday is close to Christmas and sometimes it's hard to come up with ideas for both. I tend to go a bit overboard at Christmas, funds permitting. He takes care of me all year and deserves to be treated.

I'm 33 and love a good PJ / Loungewear set and while I like the design of them, I was completely put off by the material. I can't get comfy in stiff pj's!

Same! I read the review which said they were stiff and hard and I decided not to purchase. I prefer chelsea peers stretchy style especially at christmas with all the wine and cheese I eat 😋

I’ve done the ‘explosion chocolate boxes’ before and they have been huge hits. Just buy a 2 or 3 set of stacking boxes and cut down the inside box sides. Stick sweets/choc to the sides and middle and when the lid is opened, the box falls open and revels the goodies - it’s a nice effect!

@GameOfJones My kids all love their bitzees and have several different ones each. They have “finished” them and still gone back to play again. Are the worth the full price? No, I don’t think so but for a tenner (give or take whatever the offer price was) you can’t go wrong.

If anyone is looking for a present for their dog/ horses… 🤣 my dog suffers terribly with itchiness.
