There’s the fridge thread, but here’s a Christmas Day dinner pic thread 😁

It’s all a bit of fun. Sending my good wishes to all this Christmas x

I’m so jealous of all these amazing dinners! DM decided we would have xmas dinner in a couple of days when Dsis comes to visit….and then ended up having a half arsed roast dinner with none of the good bits! Next year I will be cooking and we WILL have cauliflower cheese, pigs in blankets, stuffings and enough yorkshires for everyone to have one…..

CMSquestion25 · 25/12/2025 20:31

here’s mine

This was my DDs plate - the only one who takes pics of the food. She went a tad overboard with the roasties, but didn't add any pigs in blankets.

Pre-gravy, and then I remembered the red cabbage was still in the kitchen (when we were talking about previous years and when things had been forgotten 😜)

Is that bread sauce?! I’m the only one in my family who likes it ❤️😭

Turkey plus all the usual. I cooked and DH cleared up. No dramas. Leftovers for days. Feeling stuffed but good

My hand for scale. 😂

Biggest plates we own, known as the 'bucket plates' in this house. I ate it all. 😳 And trifle. And then some Galaxy. 🥵

I'll be starting the usual diet come January.

No photos but we have oval white steak plates which are big (our everyday plates )

Roast potatoes (which were delicious, I've had some rubbish hard potatoes recently)
Roast parsnips
Steamed carrots
Sprouts ( with the cross cut to let Satan out)
Pureed swede which was very pale , I prefer a yellow swede
Gravy
Yorkshire Puddings (I made)
Cauliflower and Broccoli Cheese
Sage&Onion stuffing (Paxo)
Quorn Roast ( for DH,DD and me)
Roast chicken ( for DS and the Cats)
No bread sauce as I didn't have cloves Xmas Blush
I don't like too much additions , no honey or added "things" .

bluebella79 · 25/12/2025 21:13

No photo. But we had gravy, lamb rack, beef rump with bone marrow, roasties in goose fat, new potatoes, sweet potato mash, Yorkshire puds, stuffing, pigs in blankets, peas, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, green beans, sprouts, stringless beans, honey roast parsnips and swede! All just about fit on the plate.

Then clotted cream cheesecake for dessert.there is also a Christmas pudding their which I may do later with some squirty cream for me and double cream for the others.

WinterBerry40 · 26/12/2025 12:01

I'm not looking at the dinners as such , but have plate envy when I see slightly lipped plates , such a good idea for those of us that like lots of gravy & sauces !

Haha text decided lipped was killed .

Didn’t make my own yorkshire puds, please don’t judge me! Said I wouldn’t do turkey this year as I usually find it a bit dry but gave it another go and it turned out well.

Yes, shredded and pan fried with pancetta. They were indeed delicious.

AleynEivlys · 26/12/2025 17:36

Lunch leftovers! We are only a family of 4 (two adults, two kids aged 11 and 8) so there was a fair amount left.

We still have half a roast gammon joint, both the bird's legs, some pigs in blankets, several Yorkshires, lots of broccoli and cauliflower cheese and about half a pan of gravy left for tomorrow ... with chips. 😂
