Unusual gifts that kids ask for

We run meet and greet Santa events at work and I was helping out today. All the families have a few minutes with Santa and I asked one little girl ( about 4) what she was going to ask Santa for. She wants a hippo - not a toy ,a real one and her daddy is going to build a pond in their garden for the hippo to live in. I hope she's not going to be too disappointed on Christmas morning, she was absolutely adamant that she didn't want anything else, despite desperate suggestions from mum and dad for alternatives. Bless her, she made my day!
Any unusual requests that you've had?

Not Christmas but for her 3rd birthday my daughter asked for an orange sheep. A lovely crafter on esty knitted one, she still has it 9 years later.

6yo DD asked for ‘boring stuff’ because she ‘doesn’t really play with toys’

🙃

My 12 year old has learning disabilities and loves to "help". He also believes all adverts are 100% true. This year he has asked for playmobil and a flash mop!

DD asked for Rich Tea biscuits one year. That was an easy win.

When she was two, DD asked for Toy Numbers.

She used that set if Magnetic numbers for years!

And current DH and I are deciding the best way of presenting the Water Butt out 14yo wants. Do we wrap it and put it by the tree, or plumb it in with some tinsel, or send her on a hunt for it...

Dd1 only wanted a yo-yo one Christmas. This year she’d like a mantis but thinks it’s a hard no (because that’s what I said when she first asked 6 months ago). I’ve researched and now it’s a yes (but if the food escapes - crickets - she won’t be allowed to sleep until she’s found every single one!). Dd is 17

Son wanted a "handle mixer".

Took A LOT of questioning to work out he meant a rotary hand whisk! (And he got one!)☝️

Electric cheese grater like they had at a local Italian. Bless him. It’s actually been a really useful kitchen gadget to be fair!

My daughter now aged 22 wanted a moustache and a pack of tracing paper one year , luckily we have a fancy dress shop near us so she wore a beautiful handle bar moustache all Christmas 😁
