Christmas Eve dinner

I'm doing m&s prawn toasts,filo prawns and king prawn selection and mini coquille st Jacques

KFC for lunch and Chinese takeout for dinner. One day of absolutely zero cooking, prepping or much tidying. 6 of us inc 4 teenagers. Everyone’s happy this way!

Macaroni cheese, gammon and chips. Every year since I was a child, although I've no idea why!

McDonald’s drive through, the kiddos love it! Not our favourite but it’s easy and keeps my kitchen clean whilst we prep things.

I completely forgot to buy Christmas Eve dinner. Except for my pudding I get every year for doing Christmas by myself.

Thai chicken, soy tam, crying tiger. DH picked up some prawn appetisers so we'll probably have them too.

Chinese! I suggested chilli and DS was aghast!

Our village gets a mobile chippy van on a Tuesday so I might suggest to the kids we go there.

Homemade fully loaded nachos, with dips and Home Alone.
Dunno when we started doing it (it's been at least 6yrs!), but it's become our Xmas Eve tradition.

Mushroom Wellington, mash, veg and red wine gravy. We won't have a cooked dinner on Christmas Day, just party food.

Luxury fish pie; Smoked haddock, cod, salmon and king prawns with tenderstem. Already made and in the freezer. (Note to self - TAKE IT OUT OF THE FREEZER!)

We are having beef Bourguignon with crusty bread.

Fish pie for 6 then Baileys tiramisu . This has reminded me to take the fish out of the freezer in the morning. We are at my sister's for Christmas lunch, so don't mind the washing up-heavy faff that is fish pie! And I'll make the tiramisu later this evening.

Buffet tea for 10. Home made guacamole and hummus, salmon and cream cheese, sausage rolls, chicken nuggets, breadsticks, etc

Gammon, jacket potatoes, salad and some buffet food. This is what we have done for the last few years and then have some gammon with the turkey the next day too.

M and s butter chicken curry with extra snacks and naans etc.

Wish it could be a delivery from our fave place but even if we order it at half 5 when they open they're so popular that it'd be approaching 9 or 10 by the time we got it. There's no way to preorder either unfortunately.

We have an cold fish platter (prawns, crab, lobster, etc), salad (lettuce, toms, sweetcorn, avocado, cucumber, pomegranate, olives etc), cheese board, and crackers/sourdough etc. Really looking forward to it!

Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. It's become a tradition after I made it a few years ago when the planned meal wasn't delivered!

Duck, red cabbage, boiled potatoes, caramelised potatoes and for dessert risalamande (a rice dessert with almonds) Traditional Danish Christmas food. After we open the presents. ..

Christmas day we do.the traditional English turkey with trimmings.

Tonight we are having minestrone with ricotta and oregano buns.

Boxing day bubble and squeak

Raclette here. With cooked honey ham, mini sirloin, various meats, cheeses, pickles, boiled potatoes and green salad. Something good and crisp to wash it down and lots of mulled wine and stollen by the fire after. No cooking prep except potatoes, hardly any dishes. It’s a tradition here.
