Is anyone finished with present shopping?

No shame on anyone who isn't. After all I've only bought for DH, DD(22), her hamster and rats and our 2 house panther.
I am just happy to be finished especially as my arthritis can lead to periods of me being incapable of planning due to heavy painkillers. I can relax knowing at least Christmas is sorted. Except food but DH & DD are perfectly able of taking on this task entirely.
Just wondering if anyone finishes early.
Or finishes late. No judgement. Just curious.
Let's keep this kind. Let's stay respectful of others lifestyle and preferences.

Ours is all done and wrapped, and cards written and ready to be posted tomorrow. I, too, have a chronic illness and can "lose" swathes of time with little notice.

MaybeItsTimeForMeNow · 03/12/2024 21:45

Yep all done. Dead chuffed as it's all wrapped too. I have 3 kids aged 2-7 and a fair few nieces and nephews..don't do adults anymore except DH. Am going to enjoy December this year very much!!

RuthW · 03/12/2024 22:03

All done and wrapped.

caringcarer · 03/12/2024 22:06

I'm pretty much done. I just need a giant Toblerone for DH stocking. I can't buy it until a few days before Xmas as I have no will power and might be tempted to eat it. I know it's sad. I still have to wrap everything though.

Gorgeous. 😻😻

Leavealightonforme · 03/12/2024 22:06

One bottle of gin and the chocolate coins and sweets yet to buy but other than that I'm pretty much done 🙂

My house Panthers Ivy and Cleo.

Thank you - what beautiful creatures they are.

GettingStuffed · 03/12/2024 22:19

I'm almost finished, I've got 2 stockings to finish and one present for one DGS

This is where I longed to be. But sadly not. I started strong but it's all gone a bit wrong for no real reason!

40 yrs ago I had a little one hospitalised at GOSH until Christmas Eve - got home to no turkey, no presents, no cards. Never again!!

MarliaST · 03/12/2024 22:21

No, not started yet. Not a thing and few ideas this year. I feel we just buy more of the same, just for the sake of it.

IAKnowyou · 03/12/2024 22:21

I am all finished now. A few more bits to arrive and wrap but all things are bought, thankfully.
I start buying bits and bobs earlier in the year to take the pressure off. And I finished it up with the Amazon Black Friday week.
And breathe.
(Food is yet to be sorted.. and that causes me some stress😵‍💫)

TheTempest · 03/12/2024 22:29

I’m pretty much done and wrapped. Food is ordered and have some snacks in. I also have several chronic illnesses so I get prepared early in case I have a flare and can’t do anything!

OatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 03/12/2024 22:42

All gifts are purchased but awaiting a few deliveries.
Nothing is wrapped.
Cards are here but not written.

Supermarket slot secured and order mostly done for the 23rd.
Butchers order placed for collection on the 24th.
Crackers and table favours are purchased.
Plenty of wine.

😂 can we organise some kind of hand hold thread where those who are finished, done and dusted get paired with a ‘late starter’ to offer encouragement, practical advice and a sense of perspective as December rolls on…

This made me laugh 😂🎁🎄

I am as I spread it out over a few months to make it more affordable. Got last few bits in the black Friday sale

Me too start in September. Thank god it's all wrapped too.

I've a spare Cadbury Xmas stocking. I was itching to dig into tonight. 🙈. I darent shop for the sweet tin yet.

LilacLilyBird · 03/12/2024 23:16

Yes my last present arrived today so I'm done

Samandytimlucypeterolivia · 03/12/2024 23:17

I literally just have the lush gifts left to go and I’m waiting for my credit card to reset which should be any day now. Got the meats and off out next week to buy the party food. Then it will just be the veg on the 23rd 🤓

Normallynumb · 03/12/2024 23:45

All presents done by middle of November as it's DS2 birthday to buy for too. I'm on disability benefits so I start early.
I only really buy for my 3 DS's now and my good friend
Not a crumb of food in but me and DS1 will do that in the last few days as we have " keep it coming" buffet food" on the day which we both prefer

reluctantbrit · 04/12/2024 08:38

DD is 75% done I think. She has a very small list this year.

DH - not done at all. I had hopes for Black Friday but obviously the main item stayed at full price so I am doing it this week.

Parents - we finaally stopped exchanging gifts with the PIL apart from some homemade biscuits.
My mum gets her presents delivered by Amazon to open on Christmas and we bring some with us when we visit on the 27th.

BloodyWolves · 04/12/2024 10:04

I’m kinda finished! Like Christmas could happen tomorrow and other than a mad rush of wrapping today it would be fine and the kids would (hopefully!) be over the moon… but I know, the kids dad knows, my mum knows, hell even the dog knows that I’m going to twitch several times between now and Christmas. So I’m not really done at all!

I wrapped ds’s yesterday bar two items I’m waiting on delivery for and it just doesn’t look like a lot compared to previous years. He’s getting older, the boxes are smaller but he’s got autism with learning disabilities and he won’t be able to fully understand why it doesn’t look as much as his two younger sisters. He’s also very specific in his interests and has a January birthday so it’s not even like I can really think of anything else he wants or needs to pad it out.

ChristmasCwtch · 04/12/2024 10:14

I’ve got 4 parcels due to arrive tomorrow/Friday. Last minute twitching 😂

Everything else is wrapped, cards posted a few days ago.

Need to think of food!!

Frozensnowflake · 04/12/2024 10:23

Im pretty much done. Just chocolates to get for stockings which I’ll hold out for. And dd has a secret Santa to buy for her friend which we’ll do at the weekend. I’ve wrapped extended families gifts but not dh and the kids yet. This is probably the most organised I’ve ever been and it feels great! This year we’re off to the in laws for Xmas dinner too so we don’t need to worry as much about the food. I have my Tesco Xmas slot ready for my food delivery

MiddleAgedDread · 04/12/2024 10:31

I've barely started and don't even know what I'm buying for most of them!!
