Heated throws

Can anyone recommend one please? Reviews are either great or terrible and I don't want something that will stop working after a few weeks. I've looked on Amazon, Lakeland and Dunelm but nothing is standing out as a quality gift.

If you've landed here looking for heated throw recommendations, we've recently updated our round-up of the best heated throws with lots of Mumsnetter-approved options.

I've just ordered one from online home shop they had branded silent night ones quite reasonably priced xx

Mumblechum0 · 22/11/2024 23:18

I have a Dunelm one and love it. Very cosy, wrap myself up while wfh. Soft fluffy fabric, sort of olive green

DrunkTinkerbell40s · 22/11/2024 23:19

I've got the navy blue Lakeland one and I absolutely love it!!!

DrunkTinkerbell40s · 22/11/2024 23:19

As does my dog!

I recommend Dreamland. I've got a plain navy blue and a chevron textured navy blue which was more expensive. I love to have one over my legs and one wrapped sround my shoulders!
They're lovely and cosy- i've had the plain one for 3 years now and use it daily. I've washed it in the machine - I was sceptical- but it was fine and has worked perfectly since.

I don't think so as it has white on the back. It's this one but in navy

Yes. I bought this for my mum last year. She's late 70s and really feels the cold and she loves it. It has lots of settings and can get quite warm. It also turns itself off so don't think it's stopped working. It can also go in the wash.

Throwitthrow · 22/11/2024 23:47

The reviews are throwing me if you'll pardon the pun! Some say it doesn't get warm enough and barely gives off any heat. Others say it's amazing. It's for a gift and I want to make sure it's going to be up to the job. I'm wanting a large one to wrap around two people on a sofa.

Dreamland faux fur one

Mudflaps · 22/11/2024 23:53

I got two in Aldi three years ago, machine washable (which is great because my dogs always join me when I use them), they have 9 temperature and timing settings, turn themselves off after the set time is up, are soft and cosy, definitely hot enough on the higher settings, a decent size and were a good price. If they are in again I'll be getting some for my mil and ds.

🚨 Daft Question Alert 🚨

Can you sit on them, or are they strictly “throw over” throws?

Ive ended up with one as Wayfair sent me it by mistake and told me to keep it… but have no idea if there’s do’s and don’ts with them.

Any tips gratefully received.

We have 2 dreamland heated throws and we love them, even the dog is obsessed! They're a few years old now and we've had no issues at all with either of them, they both still heat up perfectly.

holdmecloseyoungtonydanza · 23/11/2024 00:21

I love my Cosihome ones.

Not daft at all. No- you shouldn't really sit in them. They technically are throws- to go over the top. I like to wrap mine around my shoulders - and obviously sit back on it. I'm prepared for it to possibly not last as long as it otherwise might ... but that's where I need the heat. It might squash/ bend the heating wires I suppose.

fivebyfivebuffy · 23/11/2024 01:01

I have a dreamland one that must be 9 years old and still works perfectly

JumpstartMondays · 23/11/2024 01:16

Another vote for Dreamland. Mine is about 9 or 10 years old too 👌
The kids fight over it now but I have to remind them it's mine and it was here before them 😆
