Heated throws

Can anyone recommend one please? Reviews are either great or terrible and I don't want something that will stop working after a few weeks. I've looked on Amazon, Lakeland and Dunelm but nothing is standing out as a quality gift.

If you've landed here looking for heated throw recommendations, we've recently updated our round-up of the best heated throws with lots of Mumsnetter-approved options.

Dreamland from Argo- brilliant

I bought from Argos and took out their insurance cover, as they do break sometimes and it's easy to return.

Not daft at all. No- you shouldn't really sit in them. They technically are throws- to go over the top. I like to wrap mine around my shoulders - and obviously sit back on it. I'm prepared for it to possibly not last as long as it otherwise might ... but that's where I need the heat. It might squash/ bend the heating wires I suppose.

ah, thank you! Was sort of thinking they were for ‘throwing over’ rather than sitting on.

I have a Silent Night one and it's heaven. My cats, however, think it's the work of the devil and hiss at it if they stand on it by mistake....

I’ve just bought the silent night one from Lidl I had a £5 voucher as not shopped there for ages so £20, bargain, however like the previous one (different style/make) it isn’t all warm has cool spots and definitely doesn’t reach 53c - am I misunderstanding the point of a heated throw - they are cosy underneath but not that hot and seem to turn on and off - or have I been unlucky and had two faulty ones?
looking at the MN recommend ones but not really keen to spend if they are similar.
