Sausage roll buffet

Inspired by a MN username, I’m going to do a sausage roll buffet when friends come over with their DC. We have one pescatarian.

So far I have:
-Mushroom roll from Jamie Oliver Christmas book
-French smoked salmon puff pastry ring (not sausage roll but I like the sound of it)
-standard sausage roll
-other sausage roll, but what?
-pickled onions (2 sizes) and gherkins
-roasted peppers
-decorate your own Lebkuchen

How does that sound?

What can I do for the second sausage roll?

As I’ve repeatedly said to DH, this is all about the sausage rolls.

Turkey mince sage and cranberry?

Cheese and onions

Italian sausage with fennel and chilli

Oh Caramelized Onion & pork sausage rolls & harissa spiced sausage rolls - lots of options!

This might be the best buffet idea I've ever heard of. No suggestions, just reading jealously!

Can I come?! Cheese and chorizo…. Or you could do cheese and prawns given the pescatarian. Basically anything that goes into an empanada should work.

Oh this sounds amazing. The best lunch I ever went to was where the hostess had made Jamie Oliver's sausage rolls and they were excellent. We ate greedily.

Cranberry and Brie?

Lebkuchen? They're not rolly.

What about mini rolls? Or artic roll.

I'd add lots of relishes including piccalilli and something a little spicy like siracha or harrissa; tart drinks too to cut the richness.

If you want to make a bit of a silly funz I'd hand out tasting/scoring cards so people can rate flavour, colour, pastry etc. Then you have the short crust v puff pastry debate

Sounds really good. I would add cucumber and carrot sticks and cherry tomatoes, so you can pretend there is a healthy option 😉

Roulade would be good for pudding.

I'm going to make the JO mushroom rolls l, they sound fab

You could do roll your own roulade in teams with a choice of fillings

Sausage meat and black pudding. DS made some last Christmas, really tasty.

I like the idea of cheese and onion.

Or go very retro and make a sausage plait.
