Is this equal gifting

M has the following:
Night hoodie, gaming hoodie, gaming pillow,
Gaming headset, 9 Wii games , Wii fit will consol, hover board. Tv

E has: night hoodie gaming blanket, gaming pillow, gaming headset, ps5 console, scooter.tv

I'm not thinking so much about the value. I feel like M has more than E. I'm debating if I should put the Wii stuff as a joint gift.

It’s bizarre gifting.

who needs 9 games in one sitting?

TickingAlongNicely · 02/11/2024 21:37

The main difference seems to be one has games for their console, while the other has none?

It was a bundle it came with the Wii, fit board and 9 games

Obviously one getting nine games and the other one getting zero is a difference.

How you can't see that is beyond comprehension.

They seem equally as depressing so you are good there.

Maybe if I get a play store voucher that would even it out?

Equally depressing gifting.

How old are the kids?

Ever considered books, board games, lego, toys, footballs, bikes etc?

Bazinga007 · 02/11/2024 21:41

So E has a current generation console launched in 2020 and M gets one that is 2 generations ago and was launched in 2006. Doesn't seem fair to me.

TickingAlongNicely · 02/11/2024 21:42

Instead of buying more just hold back some of the games until Ms birthday.

I presume that E dies have something to play on the console

Sillysausage76 · 02/11/2024 21:42

How old are they?
What amount have you spent?

Edited

Why are they getting a Wii if they already have an Xbox? What are they getting that isn’t to do with gaming?

BeerForMyHorses · 02/11/2024 21:46

I didn't think they have made Wii consoles for years. I dig mine out of the loft recently and it was absolutely shockingly bad on the new tvs. Are you sure it works?

It was 2nd hand. It works fine

@Xmasasking ask to get this moved to the Christmas section otherwise you’ll be ripped to shreds. 😂😂 I think either take away a few games or get the play vouchers for E

They sound incredibly spoilt. Why not teach them that they can’t have everything they want?

SophiaLaB · 02/11/2024 21:56

Buy a couple of PS games and hold some Wii games back for another occasion. I really wouldn’t listen to anyone saying spoilt etc. You do you and buy what you want x

User56785 · 02/11/2024 21:56

I was answering the question though. Nine games for one child and no games at all for another child is not equal.

One has nine. One doesn't have any.

Bournetilly · 02/11/2024 21:59

Depends on the ages. If they are old enough to understand the cost of the items/ that the Wii was second hand (guessing the games were included) then it’s fine. You could get E a few stocking fillers to open.

StressedQueen · 02/11/2024 22:03

No not fair to me. Is there not anything other than gaming they could be interested in that E could receive as well?

@Businessflake I don't really think that's an issue. He's allowed to ask for what he wants on Christmas and clearly OP is happy to gift him that so they are not spoiled just because of that

purplebeansprouts · 02/11/2024 22:05

You can't put the Wii stuff as a joint gift unless you buy M something else

Needmorelego · 02/11/2024 22:12

@AppleKatie Wii games are old - you can buy them for less than a quid in CEX. Buying 9 of them is actually quite cool !

wellingtonsandwaffles · 02/11/2024 22:13

Gosh what a lot of presents. How old are they? Despite being loads they are not equal to a young child’s perspective (perhaps value perspective) as the lists are very balanced until the number of games comes into it. Make sure E has something to play Christmas Day. If they’re older they should understand value difference of Wii vs ps5

Sunshine1500 · 02/11/2024 22:15

as long as they both have games to play on their new consoles, don’t worry, they’ll hopefully share and you can play family games too !
